Chaotic Sword God

“These abnormal emotions occurring within me are probably due to the strand of presence from the Hole of Reincarnation.”

“But why is the presence from the Hole of Reincarnation having such a big impact on me? Why does it make me uncontrollably sad?”

Jian Chen was completely unable to suppress his strange sorrow. The heart-wrenching pain reached deep into his soul, turning into cloudy tears that poured out without any signs of stopping.

Even with the sturdy willpower and impregnable mental fortitude he had developed, he was unable to stave off these emotions of sorrow. They shattered it with ease.

“And how many other people have experienced these strange emotions apart from me?” Jian Chen wondered.

His current state was extremely strange. He was clearly shedding tears, yet thought filled his eyes. He felt extremely saddened inside, but the sadness also left him puzzled.

Submerged in sadness, Jian Chen even momentarily forgot about the matter regarding the Hundred Superimposition Sword.

No, he had not forgotten. It was better said that the abnormal emotions had far too great of an impact on him. It was so great that he no longer cared or paid any attention to the Hundred Superimposition Sword.

After the ancient jade disc had shattered, the secrets of the Hundred Superimposition Sword contained inside did not disperse. Instead, it turned into a profound comprehension of ways, gradually merging with Jian Chen’s soul.

This kind of merging was different. It was as if Jian Chen was directly absorbing it, and he was not even doing that actively. It occurred completely passively.

Even when Jian Chen was overwhelmed with sadness, no longer paying any thought to the Hundred Superimposition Sword, the comprehension and secrets of the technique were still being absorbed.

And, whenever he absorbed a portion, Jian Chen’s grasp and understanding of the Hundred Superimposition Sword would increase slightly.

This was completely passive and beyond his control. It was more difficult for Jian Chen to stop this process than continue.

In the past, Jian Chen had to devote a vast amount of time and energy to comprehension if he wanted to grasp the Hundred Superimposition Sword. If he did not have sufficient talent and fortune, even gaining a basic grasp would have been almost impossible.

But at this moment, he did not have to exert any effort at all. The Hundred Superimposition Sword had already entered a state of self-comprehension. It was unbelievable.

If Jian Chen’s emotions had not been overwhelmed by the sadness, this change would have definitely left him ravishing in joy.

But now, under the influence of the sadness, he was in a state of utmost indifference. Nothing in the world could interest him anymore. He completely neglected the Hundred Superimposition Sword.

Jian Chen wiped away his tears and gasped for air as he sat there, trying his best to calm himself down. However, he discovered that he was unable to pacify his emotions.

At that moment, he only felt his chest weigh extremely heavily. He was in an emotional turmoil. He had no desire to cultivate at all.

He stood up and left the room he had spent several years in secluded cultivation with rather heavy steps. He appeared on the streets of the Observance Heaven City alone. He gazed at the bustling, busy streets in a daze.

Jian Chen wandered through the bustling streets aimlessly. Under the influence of the strange emotions, he lost interest in everything going on around him. He was completely dejected and seemed like he was a walking corpse.

Of course, he did not drop his guard in the very depths of his heart. He maintained the false appearance and presence from the mask of the Illusionary Daemon race, hiding his true identity.

This continued for several days. Jian Chen wandered through the Observance Heaven City like he had lost his soul. He was dispirited.

However, with the passage of several days, the influence of the sorrow on him gradually weakened.

During this period of time, he questioned himself time and time again. He constantly tried to find the source of this sorrow, but apart from confirming it was connected to the wisp of presence from the Hole of Reincarnation, he was clueless.

At this moment, Jian Chen felt his mind suddenly clear up. In a daze, he seemed to gain some kind of new understanding.

In just a few days, his Hundred Superimposition Sword had already reached the seventh layer!

The first five layers of the Hundred Superimposition Sword had taken him eighteen years!

Going from the fifth layer to the sixth layer had taken him five years!

Now, going from the sixth layer to the seventh layer only took him a few days!

And, after comprehending the seventh layer of the Hundred Superimposition Sword, he did not slow down. As the profound presence from the ancient jade disc was absorbed, Jian Chen’s comprehension of the Hundred Superimposition Sword gradually advanced towards the eighth layer.

“I never thought that Chang Yang who contended against the first great elder of the Immortal Feather sect, Xia Tianming, actually possessed a sovereign god artifact…”

“Much less did I think that Chang Yang actually disguised himself at Yang Yutian and stirred up such a great storm in the Skyscraping World…”

“Exactly. It’s said that when the Skyscraping World opened this time, a rather shocking number of Immortal Exalts had perished. Virtually all of their deaths were connected to Yang Yutian…”

“You know the Profound Spirit Master, right? He’s one of the ancestors of the Heavenly Palace of Scaling Heights from the Cloud Extent Heaven, a Fourth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt. It’s said that he was killed by Yang Yutian right in the eye of the public…”

“A sovereign god artifact. That’s a sovereign god artifact. I never thought that a treasure like that would actually fall into the hands of an Immortal Emperor. How envious…”

......

…

A conversation caught Jian Chen’s attention. When he turned around subconsciously, he discovered a familiar estate.

Jian Chen immediately began to reminisce.

He had once been the temporary owner of this estate. When he served as the Thousand Immortal General, everything in the estate belonged to him.

Several cultivators walked out from the main entrance of the estate. They ranged from Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals to Immortal Monarchs. They walked off into the distance in discussion before vanishing into a luxurious inn in the end.

“All acquaintances.” Jian Chen watched these people walk off into the distance as he sighed inside. He had already recognised these people. They had all been his subordinates. Although he could not name many of them, he did recognise their appearances and presences.

Apart from a change in the Thousand Immortal General, the estate he used to stay in retained the same people.

“Looks like the events that occurred in the Skyscraping World have already been leaked. As time goes on, there will only be more people that know.” Jian Chen sank into his thoughts. His emotions had already recovered substantially now. The strange sadness had gradually receded as well, unable to influence the state of his mind.

He immediately stopped his aimless stroll through the streets, quickly returning to his inn.

“I’ve actually comprehended the Hundred Superimposition Sword up to the seventh layer?” Only at this moment was he in the right state of mind to pay attention to the changes to the Hundred Superimposition Sword and himself. He was immediately startled.

The Hundred Superimposition Sword had gone from the sixth layer to the seventh layer in such a short time. Jian Chen struggled to believe that as he understood the exact difficulty involved.

He immediately gathered his focus and began closely examining the changes that occurred after the jade disc had merged with his soul. However, the more he observed, the more startled he became. He discovered that his grasp over the Hundred Superimposition Sword was growing at an unbelievable pace. He basically gained a new understanding with each passing moment.

“It doesn’t need any effort from me at all. It’s comprehending automatically? Why is that the case?” Even with Jian Chen’s knowledge and insight, he was stumped by his discoveries.

He had seen countless battle skills and secret techniques before, but he had never heard about something so strange.

“At this rate, will it comprehend itself to the hundredth layer?” Jian Chen found this unbelievable. After some thought, he entered the Primeval Divine Hall. He arrived in an empty area so that he could test out the Hundred Superimposition Sword.

Boom! As the seven blurs merged into one, the Heaven-lifting sword in his hand erupted with blinding light, slashing heavily against the Primeval Divine Hall and producing a terrifying storm of energy.

“It can’t be wrong. This is seven times the power. I’ve actually grasped the Hundred Superimposition Sword up to the seventh layer?” Jian Chen was dazed when he sensed the powerful storm of energy.

It was not as simple as the seventh layer. There was another important factor—he used it just too easily and just too casually.

This was clearly some kind of profound and powerful secret technique, yet it felt even easier than God Tier Battle Skills when he used it.

“With my current level of comprehension, I can use some God Tier Battle Skills instantly, without any need for charging up, but the Hundred Superimposition Sword can no longer be described as instantly. It comes to me completely naturally. It feels as if it was part of me in the first place, like my own hand or foot!”

No matter how Jian Chen thought about this, he was unable to understand the reason. In the end, he could only attribute it to the Hole of Reincarnation.

“The Hole of Reincarnation has influenced my emotions twice now. Don’t tell me some kind of unknown connection exists between me and the Hole of Reincarnation?” Jian Chen murmured before taking a step and instantly vanishing. When he reappeared, he had already arrived at where the Divine Formation of the Heavens was assembled.

The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt, the Immortal Devouring Orchid, and the nine Immortal Emperors were all present. Nearby were the fifty thousand Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal disciples.
