The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

The sun hangs high, yet one cannot feel its bright rays; black fog envelops everything, obscuring the light and leaving a dim shadow.

Under the shroud of black fog, the world is dark, like the last haze before nightfall.

No bright sun, no clear skies, nor picturesque landscapes.

This is West Prison, a world veiled in twilight.

Carson Flores and Cassiane Sinclair have arrived in West Prison for several days and are gradually adapting to the world covered in dusk-like mist.

Due to the unique environment of West Prison, a unique Nether Tribe has formed. They resemble the Human Race, but their skin is dark gray. Though long exposure to Demonic Qi won’t turn them into magical beasts, subtle changes occur; most West Prison people have eyes hinting at red, and are quick to anger, often resorting to violence over minor disagreements, sometimes to the death.

The people of West Prison are inherently hostile to other domains, probably an envy-driven hatred. Why can you live under sunlight, while we dwell in this hellish gray world?

The harsh survival environment of West Prison, aside from fostering resilience, also offers many cultivation advantages.

The spiritual power, or soul strength, of West Prison people is significantly stronger than that of other domains, leading to faster cultivation. In the same Realm, West Prison cultivators are often stronger than those from the other three domains.

In the previous Myriad Immortals Palace selection, the first place winner was Western Hell’s Pride.

With the fog covering West Prison, most West Prison people wrap themselves with cloth like mummies to reduce skin contact with the fog, then put on robes, resembling desert dwellers who live in long-term survival conditions.

Since entering West Prison, the two have interacted with some native residents. When these ordinary people gaze at Carson and Cassiane, their eyes show unabashed awe, but the most intense emotion is envy.

This gaze gives Carson a mistaken feeling, as if these ordinary West Prison residents are denizens of hell, looking up to guests from heaven, both respectful and envious.

As for hate? Hostility?

Perhaps they harbor such feelings inside, but as ordinary people, they dare not show even the slightest hint.

Ordinary people confronting Immortals directly?

Do they have a death wish?

”There’s a village ahead, let’s ask for directions...”

Carson and Cassiane entered West Prison, but a large area is still considered West Prison’s border, with thousands of miles of barren land, where low-level magical beasts like wolf-dogs roam for food.

Previous encounters with two villages yielded nothing useful when asking for directions.

The distance between villages can be thousands of miles, and without cultivator gatherings, ordinary people can’t possibly know the outside world or where the City of Netherfire is.

They don’t even know where Immortals are.

This is a forgotten remote area of West Prison.

The two can only continue westward, as the entire West Prison is situated west of the Ten Thousand Immortals Domain, so heading west seems right.

It’s a settlement of hundreds, surrounded by a sturdy tree-made fence, which can ward off the lowest-level magical beasts, safeguarding the residents of the settlement.

”Can we ask for directions, is there any Immortal Sect nearby, specifically Cultivator Sects?”

The activity range of ordinary people is extremely small; they don’t know where they are. Cultivator Sects naturally have a larger activity range; finding one can lead them on the right path.

The elderly person being questioned respectfully replied, ”We don’t know where there’s an Immortal Sect, but about a thousand miles north of here, there’s a very tall mountain where Immortals frequent...”

”Thank you!”

Carson courteously thanked, gave the elder several bags of food and a bottle of low-order elixirs for external injuries, then headed north.

A distance of a thousand miles was covered in an instant.

Carson extended his Divine Sense, searched the mountain, and found an area hidden by Formation, seemingly the Immortal’s Cave Mansion mentioned by the elder.

Carson and Cassiane arrived before the Formation, Carson called out, ”Is anyone there?”

The Formation opened, light projected from inside, followed by the sound of a woman’s laughter.

A middle-aged man with a black crown appeared at the door, glanced at the two, and smiled warmly.

”Judging by your attire, you’re from The Outlands?”

Carson cupped his hands and said, ”Greetings, Fellow. We came from the North Sea and struggled to find our way after entering. We’ve inquired far and wide to locate this place, hoping to ask you for directions. Could you assist us?”

The man laughed heartily, ”My secluded place is in a remote area; visitors are rare, let alone friends from The Outlands. Since you’ve come, you’re guests. Please come in for a drink; we can chat slowly.”

Carson and Cassiane entered the Formation, and their eyes widened with surprise.
