The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Carson Flores looked at the Sea God’s Seal in his hand, his initially shocked and excited mood gradually cooling down.

When he called for help before, he only wanted to survive, never expecting True Sage Grand Void to be so bold, dealing with the Sea God so casually.

With great power comes bold actions!

The Sea God’s Seal is the symbol of the Sea God. Only by receiving its recognition can one use its full power and become the true Sea God. Until then, for Carson, the Sea God’s Seal is merely a powerful Innate Spiritual Treasure, and other functions remain inaccessible.

The Sea God’s Seal can absorb the Will Power of the Sea God Command; the Sea God can rely on it for cultivation and to increase power. But now, even though there’s ample Will Power within, he can only watch helplessly.

Visible, but unreachable.

Although True Sage Grand Void gave the Sea God’s Seal to Carson and backed him up, whether he could win its recognition was still uncertain.

Carson immersed his mind into the Sea God’s Seal and immediately sensed its consciousness.

As Carson’s perception extended out like tentacles and made contact, for a brief moment, Carson felt his consciousness connected with the other.

It was as if he saw an endless deep sea, and likewise, the other fully sensed his mental world.

The next second, Carson’s perception was harshly thrown out, the connection abruptly cut.

Carson was dumbfounded.

Really?

Am I such a fearsome creature?

This exaggerated?

Carson, unconvinced, extended his awareness into the Sea God’s Seal once more, but this time, it made no response.

The Sea God’s Seal was like a room full of gold and silver treasures; Carson stood at the doorway, the owner having opened it just a crack, they exchanged glances through the gap, then the owner slammed it shut.

Not only shut but also locked.

No matter how Carson knocked or tried to force it open, the door wouldn’t budge an inch.

Doomed!

After several attempts, Carson felt resignation within.

Clearly, the Sea God’s Seal did not recognize him!

Totally rejected!

Carson had no solution at the moment, looking up with a bitter smile: ”Rejected. It doesn’t recognize me...”

Cassiane Sinclair curiously asked: ”Not recognized?”

Carson nodded: ”The Sea God’s Seal has its consciousness. To become the Sea God and wield its full powers, one must first get its recognition. I tried just now, it doesn’t recognize me.”

Cassiane blinked: ”Maybe try a few more times?”

Carson smiled wryly: ”I’m afraid not, our consciousnesses connected for a brief moment, during which it seemed we were completely linked. It saw through me and then rejected me, evidently I’m not the Sea God it acknowledges.”

Cassiane exclaimed: ”That amazing? What then, is there another way?”

Carson handed the Sea God’s Seal to Cassiane: ”You give it a try.”

Cassiane looked at Carson in shock: ”Isn’t this inappropriate?”

Carson smiled: ”Trying is no issue. Even if it acknowledges you as the new Sea God, it’s fine, we are on the same side, it won’t go to outsiders.”

Curious, Cassiane hesitated, then reached out to hold the Sea God’s Seal, extending her perception into it.

Carson watched Cassiane’s face, noting her expression of amazement for a brief moment, suggesting their minds were linked.

The next second, Cassiane’s face turned into a bitter smile, she looked at Carson: ”I understand what you mean now...”

Carson smiled: ”You were rejected too?”

Cassiane nodded: ”Yes, just as you described, our minds connected briefly, then it closed off, ignoring me. Clearly, it doesn’t recognize me either.”

Carson wasn’t surprised, smiling: ”To be acknowledged by the Sea God’s Seal and become the exalted Sea God isn’t something anyone can achieve.”

Cassiane agreed: ”Indeed, but what kind of conditions would earn its recognition, or what actions might change its perception?”

Carson pondered, shaking his head: ”It chose to connect with you and me for an instant, evidently it was conducting a direct review, rejecting outright without giving a second chance.”

”Though unknown what it seeks, clearly, both of us are excluded, appears I cannot become the Sea God.”

Cassiane considered: ”Hareth Stormwind has been captured. If it ends up back in Elder Briggs’ hands, do you think it would recognize him?”
