The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 2349: Chapter 2349: Am I Jealous?

”Yes, I’ve been curious for a long time, but I never dared to ask.”

Carson Flores replied honestly, ”I now have the opportunity for True Sage Grand Void to help me once, and I also saved the Three Sects Disciple. They owe me a huge favor. If they can help Delarosa...”

”That’s not possible.”

Delarosa gently interrupted Carson, chuckling softly, ”I’m very happy that you’re willing to use a hard-won chance for me, but this is not something they can help with.”

Carson felt a bit disheartened: ”Even top-level figures like them can’t help?”

Delarosa answered gently, ”It’s not that their strength isn’t enough, but the matters I need to handle are intricate and deeply involved, not something that can be resolved by just anyone stepping in.”

Carson nodded silently, then said, ”That doesn’t matter. Better to rely on yourself. When I’m more powerful, I’ll accompany you, Delarosa, even if it means traveling throughout the Immortal Realm and fighting everyone there. I must help you solve your problems.”

Delarosa nodded lightly, with a warm smile, ”I left you for so long before because I went to find someone. Logically, he should have long been dead, but I couldn’t accept it, so I went to potential places to look for him again.”

Carson’s eyes lit up: ”And, did you find him or not?”

Delarosa made a sound of confirmation: ”I found no evidence proving he’s still alive. If he were alive, after so long, there should have been some commotion or news...”

Carson murmured, ”So... is he really dead?”

Delarosa’s eyes were complex: ”Everything indicates he truly is dead, but I always feel he’s still alive... It’s a contradiction, right?”

Carson paused for two seconds: ”Did you find any definitive evidence of his death?”

Delarosa shook her head: ”No, he was such a proud person, if he were to die, he wouldn’t let anyone witness his defeated, final moments.”

Carson softly comforted, ”Since there is no definitive evidence proving he’s dead, then it’s possible he’s still alive, perhaps gravely injured and hiding somewhere to heal. For a cultivator of such a realm, injuries are no small matter, and a longer recovery time is entirely possible. Maybe one day he will suddenly appear... Was he the previous owner of the Ethereal Pagoda?”

Delarosa nodded: ”Yes, because of one of his opportunities, the Ethereal Pagoda nurtured me...”

Was it because of this person that Delarosa was born?

Carson had initially thought Delarosa was born with the Ethereal Pagoda, but now realized he was mistaken.

Curious, Carson asked, ”So what was your relationship with him?”

Delarosa replied, ”Father and daughter.”

For some reason, hearing Delarosa’s answer made Carson feel inexplicably relieved.

Carson noticed this himself and immediately reflected on why he felt this way.

Was he jealous?

Jealous of her previous owner?

He imagined her former owner might be a mighty being with extraordinary cultivation, possibly a warrior companion, a master-servant, or even a lover with Delarosa, leading to a sense of irrational comparison.

Now, hearing they were like father and daughter, he realized it wasn’t what he thought, and felt relieved again.

Delarosa, with eyes that seemed to see through him, smiled, ”So, did you always think there was a romantic relationship between me and the previous owner of the Ethereal Pagoda?”

Carson’s face turned a bit awkward, his expression slightly embarrassed, ”Ahem, I misunderstood. I’m sorry, Delarosa.”

Delarosa giggled, ”No need to apologize. It was my fault for not saying. Your guess was quite normal.”

Hastily shifting the topic, Carson asked, ”How did that senior disappear? Where was the last place he appeared? Who were your enemies?”

Delarosa replied, ”He had many enemies. The last battle was in the Sacred Heart Immortal Domain. He broke open the space and sent me away, then dashed out himself but disappeared ever since.”

”Sacred Heart Immortal Domain?”

Carson muttered, then suddenly felt shocked, ”Isn’t that the Immortal Domain where the Immortal Emperor resides?”

”Yes, that is precisely where the Immortal Emperor resides.”

Delarosa responded, ”I went back to investigate. That battle was the last news of him in the world, after which he vanished. Considering the peerless strong ones surrounding him, and his decision to send me away before disappearing, it all indicates that he is utterly dead. Yet, I’m unwilling, unable to accept it. I always feel he’s alive, somewhere in this world, waiting for me to find him...”

Carson spoke seriously, ”If he was attacked by many and has since disappeared without a trace, there are only two outcomes. First, he was completely killed, body and soul destroyed. Second, he was captured and secretly detained, with those in the know keeping silent, so no one knows where he is.”

Delarosa pressed her lips together, her eyes showing a hint of killing intent, ”Yes, I too want to question each of those from back then, but I’m ultimately only an Artifact Spirit. If I show myself, never mind investigation, I might directly fall into their hands and be controlled by them.”

Carson naturally asked, ”So, who were those who attacked that senior?”

Delarosa looked at Carson, hesitated slightly, then shook her head, ”They are still too distant from you. Knowing won’t help you, nor will it do you any good. Just knowing about it is enough for now. I’ll tell you more when the situation allows it.”

Though Carson felt a bit disappointed, he roughly understood that Delarosa’s former owner was likely an immensely powerful figure, one of extraordinary strength. Otherwise, why would such a scene of peerless strong ones besieging him occur?

The enemies of such a person were naturally also extremely terrifying. Given his current strength, he was like an ant to them, easily crushed.

Thinking of another matter, Carson asked, ”If the Ethereal Pagoda is exposed to them, would they recognize you?”

Delarosa nodded, ”Yes, although the Ten Thousand Immortals Domain cannot compare to the Sacred Heart Immortal Domain, it is still one of the Eight Great Immortal Domains under the Immortal Emperor. There are always some people with abilities. As the people you interact with become more powerful and of higher status, the likelihood of them recognizing me increases. So, it’s best not to expose me to others.”

Carson nodded seriously, ”Okay, Delarosa, I will be careful.”

Possessing valuable treasures is often a sin!

The Mirror of Elemental Harmony is like this, and the Heaven and Earth Mystical Yellow Linglong Tower is the same!

If exposed to the eyes of greedy powerful beings, do you think they will reason with you, or will they attempt to seize it?

Delarosa comforted him with a smile, ”You don’t need to be too tense. Towers, cauldrons, bells, swords, and such magical treasures are everywhere. As long as you don’t excessively display their wondrous aspects, even if others see them, they might not necessarily associate them with me...”
