The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 2039: Chapter 2039: The End of the Immortal Path

At the mountain top, Selah Ellison Venerable One comfortably sat in a chair, watching Carson Flores cook a meal.

Spencer Steele didn’t dare sit idly like Selah Ellison Venerable One, waiting for food, and assisted Carson Flores with his tasks.

”Master, if your incarnation is killed, will your true self be affected?”

Carson Flores flipped the dish in the pan and casually answered, ”An incarnation cannot be created out of thin air. It originates from essence blood and vitality, directly split from the body, and is considered part of one’s own body. If the incarnation returns and merges back with the body, there is no loss. If the incarnation is destroyed and turns to nothingness, it naturally has some impact on the body.”

Spencer Steele asked worriedly, ”Will it have a significant impact?”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Not too much, just a slight feeling of weakness, similar to the sensation after losing a lot of blood. I can recover with related elixirs, and I also have the Life Essence Pearl, which can convert vitality to replenish myself. This loss is relatively negligible.”

Spencer Steele breathed a sigh of relief, ”That’s good. I was worried you might be greatly affected like Tori Greene undergoing Nirvana Rebirth.”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”You haven’t seen the Mosquito Demon, which transforms into thousands, covering the sky. My incarnation is nothing significant, at most a means to avoid calamity and temporarily cannot form true combat power.”

Spencer Steele laughed, ”It’s already impressive. The true self stays home, while the incarnation ventures out. Even if there’s danger, its demise doesn’t affect the true self. Most importantly, outsiders can’t tell it’s an incarnation. You appeared openly before those three Great Land Sovereigns and thousands of Immortals, yet none could discern it was an incarnation.”

Carson Flores served a bowl of beef stew, handed it to Spencer Steele, smiling, ”Everyone can create a Primordial Spirit Incarnation. If it could be seen through like a Primordial Spirit Incarnation, it wouldn’t be called a divine skill.”

Spencer Steele brought the bowl to Selah Ellison Venerable One, presenting it respectfully with both hands, ”Madam!”

Selah Ellison Venerable One accepted the bowl, laughing, ”How many times have I told you, don’t be so reserved, we’re all family here, be casual...”

Spencer Steele grinned but said nothing, clearly hearing but not absorbing the message.

Carson Flores shook his head with a smile, saying nothing further.

Let her be as she wishes; it’s fine as long as she feels comfortable. Perhaps, as everyone spends years together, things might change.

Ultimately, it boils down to her previous experiences which caused a tremendous impact. Now, the more respectful she is towards herself, one knows how hopeless she once felt.

Carson Flores served two more bowls, walked over with them, handed one to Spencer Steele, smiling, ”Try this, beef stew, how’s the taste?”

Selah Ellison Venerable One stirred a small spoonful, took a bite, her eyes slightly narrowing with delight, ”Delicious, very fragrant.”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Other cultivators are either meditating in their cave mansions all day or searching everywhere for Immortal Elixirs to aid their cultivation and enhance their power. Who else would do what we do, making good food all day with no difference from ordinary people...”

Selah Ellison Venerable One laughed, ”That’s human nature. If one has no desires, are they still human? Even on the Immortal Path, I still think it’s much happier being human.”

Carson Flores took a spoonful into his mouth, and thoughtfully said, ”Do you think when cultivation reaches its peak, every cultivator eventually discards everything belonging to humans to become immortal, achieve eternal life, and even become a supreme deity?”

Selah Ellison Venerable One paused with her spoon, thought for a while, and answered, ”Even deities should have their emotions. If devoid of emotions and desires, what kind of existence would that be? Perhaps merely the emotionless Heavenly Dao Rules?”

Carson Flores’ eyes lit up, ”Thinking about it this way, it’s not impossible. If a cultivator’s power becomes strong enough to establish Heavenly Dao Rules, and he himself has no emotions or desires, would his will become the rules of a realm or even larger scope, directly being what we call the Heavenly Dao?”

Selah Ellison Venerable One considered carefully, ”It’s possible indeed. At that realm, whether a realm exists might be just a matter of his thoughts. However, that realm is far from us; even an Immortal Emperor wouldn’t dare claim to wipe out a realm with a mere thought.”

She paused, then added, ”An Immortal Emperor might annihilate a realm with a thought, but there should be limits to the scope. His power shouldn’t be limitless. For instance, he might wipe out a continent, even an Immortal Domain, but surely not the entire Immortal Realm, right?”

Carson Flores pondered the picture Selah Ellison Venerable One painted, momentarily lost in thought, ”They say the Immortal Path is boundless. So, is the Immortal Emperor, well, perhaps Saint, the endpoint of the Immortal Path or its limit?”

Selah Ellison Venerable One smiled slightly, ”Whether it’s the limit or if there’s an endpoint, as we progress step by step, one day we’ll find the answer ourselves.”
