The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1495: Chapter 1495: News from an Old Friend

The Golden-Winged Great Roc flapped its wings and landed on the wide mountain path.

Franklin Austin’s figure appeared above the mountain path, and at the mountainside, Princess Hail and the other three also emerged.

Everyone stared at Carson Flores, who was sitting cross-legged on Little Gold’s head, their expressions filled with shock.

Carson Flores has been away for more than six years and returns in such a grandiose manner?

That’s the incredibly proud Golden-Winged Great Roc, yet he managed to tame it?

Isn’t he just a Human Immortal?

How on earth did he do this?

Carson Flores patted Little Gold and drifted into the air. ”Uncle Austin, it’s been a while...”

Franklin Austin’s gaze fell upon Little Gold. ”The Golden-Winged Great Roc—how did you manage this?”

Carson Flores replied with a smile, ”With help from others—it was hatched and raised.”

Hatched?

No wonder.

But who could be so daring to steal Golden-Winged Great Roc’s eggs? Isn’t that basically begging for death?

The Golden-Winged Great Roc is known for its foul temper!

And it’s a meat eater!

Carson Flores gave Little Gold some instructions, and it spread its wings and flew toward Heavenly Sword Peak’s summit.

Franklin Austin’s gaze shifted back to Carson Flores, his expression subtle. ”I heard you went to give birthday greetings on behalf of the Sect Master to the Eastflow Ancestor, but ended up defeating the Eastflow Ancestor with a single strike?”

Carson Flores chuckled. ”Yes, he tried to refine all of us into essence blood to aid his breakthrough. His luck wasn’t great—he ran straight into me, so I suppose misfortune was on his side.”

The Eastflow Ancestor truly had abysmal luck; he never anticipated a mere Human Immortal would end up ruining his plans and even kill him with a single sword strike!

Even if Lance Matthews himself had gone, he might not have been able to handle it and could have met a bitter end. In a sense, Carson Flores shielded Lance Matthews from disaster and saved his life.

Franklin Austin praised, ”You’ve truly brought immense prestige to the White Crane Immortal Sect. After all, you saved many of the Sect’s important figures back then—this favor is monumental.”

Carson Flores replied with a smile, ”I was simply saving myself; it was a coincidence.”

Franklin Austin asked, ”I heard you also accepted a disciple at Heavenly Sword Peak?”

Carson Flores nodded. ”Yes, a young girl about ten years old. Has she returned here in recent years?”

Franklin Austin nodded. ”She came once, stayed for about ten days, and then left again. She said her path was one she had to walk alone, and we wouldn’t be able to help her...”

Carson Flores wasn’t surprised and smiled. ”So she just came to acknowledge the place, I suppose?”

Franklin Austin chuckled. ”I noticed she stayed reserved and wary toward everyone, yet when speaking of you, her gaze and expression completely changed. It was obvious that she deeply trusts and relies on you.”

Carson Flores nodded thoughtfully. ”Her childhood was filled with upheaval; her mindset is undoubtedly different from ordinary people. Let her do as she pleases—time might heal her eventually.”

At this moment, Princess Hail and the other three came up to greet him.

Carson Flores smiled and asked, ”Did Spencer obtain the opportunity within the Palace of Seven Beauties? To avoid unpredictable danger, we didn’t come looking for you. Did you face any difficulties?”

Princess Hail replied respectfully, ”They interrogated us, but didn’t do anything else.”

Carson Flores nodded and dismissed them before walking with Franklin Austin back to the house atop the mountain.

”Any news from the Barbaric Wilderness Realm?”

Franklin Austin smiled. ”Yes, people from your sect in the Barbaric Wilderness Realm have arrived, but for specific updates, you’ll need to ask the Sect Master.”

Carson Flores felt both delighted and slightly anxious.

There were several of them—was their ascension smooth?

With Heavenly Sword Peak having few members, naturally there wasn’t much going on. After casually chatting with Franklin Austin, Carson Flores headed to see Sect Master Lance Matthews in his cave mansion.

”Sect Master?”

Lance Matthews emerged from the cave mansion upon hearing the news. Seeing Carson Flores, joy spread across his face. ”Little Uncle-Master, you’re back!”

Carson Flores replied with a smile, ”Yes, I ended up spending a bit too much time out there.”

”Little Uncle-Master, please, come in—we’ll talk inside!”

Lance Matthews invited Carson Flores into his cave mansion and personally brewed a cup of tea for him before respectfully bowing.

Carson Flores asked in surprise, ”Sect Master, what’s the purpose of this gesture?”

Lance Matthews spoke earnestly, ”First, to apologize—for sending you to attend the Eastflow Ancestor’s birthday, placing you in danger. If not for the sword qi gifted by Elder Lee, you might have been trapped there.”

Carson Flores smiled. ”Who could have foreseen this? In any case, isn’t the outcome rather favorable now?”

Lance Matthews bowed again and continued, ”Second, to thank you. If it had been me going personally, I might have been refined into essence blood and absorbed by the Eastflow Ancestor to fuel his cultivation breakthrough. Little Uncle-Master, you saved my life.”

Seeing Lance Matthews’s steadfast sincerity, Carson Flores chuckled freely. ”Alright, I’ll accept this thanks.”

Only then did Lance Matthews sit across from Carson Flores and asked, ”Little Uncle-Master, you’ve come this time to inquire about the ascension of your friends and kin in the Barbaric Wilderness Realm, haven’t you?”

Carson Flores nodded. ”Yes, I heard there’s news about them.”

Lance Matthews nodded in response. ”Little Uncle-Master, as the Human Emperor of the Barbaric Wilderness Realm and also our White Crane Immortal Sect’s Heavenly Sword Peak Master, rest assured—we’ve been keeping close watch on the matters you asked about.”

”During these past six years, quite a few people related to you have ascended, including members of your previous sect and even the Demon Emperor...”
