The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1483: Chapter 1483: Fairy, Are You Okay?

The cave mansion shook violently, as if it could collapse at any moment.

Selah Ellison Fairy flew out from her chamber, her face cold and grave, rushing out of the cave mansion with Carson Flores close behind.

In the distance, a massive volcanic crater was spewing lava ferociously, thick smoke billowing into the sky, an awe-inspiring scene.

”A volcanic eruption?”

Selah narrowed her almond-shaped phoenix eyes, her gaze filled with killing intent: ”A demonic beast, coming for the Golden-Winged Great Roc egg.”

A demonic beast?

Carson also heard the deafening roar that shook heaven and earth, but as he looked around the desolate wasteland, there were no traces of a demonic beast to be found.

”Bang!”

The distant volcano suddenly shattered again. Amidst the rolling smoke from the massive volcanic crater, a gigantic claw abruptly extended outward, followed by another claw.

Two enormous claws gripped the edge of the volcanic crater. The crater crumbled as a colossal figure rose from the thick smoke, standing tall in the midst of the lava, completely unharmed by its scorching flow.

It stood up amidst the rolling smoke and spread its massive wings, which stretched for a thousand meters and blotted out the sky.

Carson stared, dumbfounded, at the titanic, bat-like demonic beast emerging from the volcanic crater. Shocked, he muttered, ”Could this creature have been living beneath the volcano, inside the lava all this time?”

Selah’s eyes remained cold as she stared at the silhouette near the volcanic crater. Her tone was calm: ”A Flame Dragon Ghost Bat with the bloodline of a Flame Dragon. It spends most of its life in slumber, and the place it favors most to sleep is beneath lava pools...”

A Flame Dragon Ghost Bat?

This thing was enormous. Judging by its aura, it was definitely way out of his league.

”Very strong?”

Selah answered calmly, ”This one... is very strong.”

Carson pressed further, ”Did it wake up hungry and now plans to eat?”

”The Golden-Winged Great Roc egg has already hatched. The heartbeat and the aura from the hatchling disturbed it. Clearly, it’s coming to join the feast. After all, the egg of a Golden-Winged Great Roc contains vast amounts of energy essence to nurture the new life, which is incredibly tempting to a Flame Dragon Ghost Bat.”

Carson immediately understood. So it turned out he and Selah had unintentionally awakened this slumbering monster.

Turning his head, Carson asked, ”Fairy, can you beat it?”

Selah’s eyes narrowed slightly. ”We’ll find out in battle.”

As they spoke, the Flame Dragon Ghost Bat suddenly pushed off with its hind legs, its massive wings unfurling and blotting out the sky. The heavens seemed to descend into darkness at once.

Selah said gravely, ”Guard the egg. If anything unexpected happens, take it and leave.”

”Understood!”

Selah instantly transformed into a streaking rainbow of light, rushing to meet the Flame Dragon Ghost Bat head-on. The Golden Dragon Shears flew out from her hands and transformed into two enormous Five-Clawed Divine Dragons, lunging toward the Flame Dragon Ghost Bat.

The Flame Dragon Ghost Bat, however, was completely unfazed. Its massive body barreled directly into the two divine dragons.

”Boom!”

The explosive collision echoed in the skies like two massive mountains crashing together. The air itself seemed to compress and erupt, shaking heaven and earth.

Selah manipulated the two Golden Dragons to relentlessly attack, but the Flame Dragon Ghost Bat’s body was unimaginably tough. Even when the Golden Dragons bit into its flesh, they couldn’t tear through its body. Instead, with a fierce flap of its wings or a swipe of its claws, it sent the two divine dragons flying far off.

”Boom!”

One of the divine dragons crashed into the ground, instantly collapsing a volcanic crater. Lava spewed into the air, filling the sky with smoke and causing the earth to quake and split. The destruction was terrifying.

Such ferocious collisions would have shattered the bones of ordinary demonic beasts, but the golden divine dragon rolled over on the ground, then soared skyward once more. Like an undying dragon, it resumed its assault on the Flame Dragon Ghost Bat.

At the same time, Selah threw out a Purple Jade Gourd. With a flick of her finger, countless beams of Sword Light shot forth like a flock of birds emerging from the forest, unleashing a devastating storm toward the Flame Dragon Ghost Bat.

The Flame Dragon Ghost Bat, with its thick skin and tough flesh, was utterly unafraid of these powerful Flying Swords. With a flap of its wings, it conjured a Level Twelve Gale out of thin air. The powerful Flying Swords were tossed about like leaves in a storm, thrown off course. Although many still struck the Flame Dragon Ghost Bat, leaving one bloody hole after another, the damage was negligible compared to its colossal body.

From a distance, Carson watched the frightening battle with a heart full of dread. This Flame Dragon Ghost Bat could not only withstand the Golden Dragon Shears but had forced Selah to bring out more magical treasures. Its combat power was likely on par with a Late Celestial Immortal, if not at its peak.

Could Selah win?

This demonic beast’s physical toughness alone was terrifying. If it had other tricks up its sleeve...

Just as Carson was pondering, the Flame Dragon Ghost Bat suddenly opened its jaws wide, unleashing an unbearably scorching breath, like molten lava, that surged toward Selah in waves, engulfing everything in its path.

Selah’s entire body radiated with dazzling light as she withstood the overwhelming heat and flames, then suddenly struck downward with her palm.

In the skies, a gargantuan palm materialized, spanning across the heavens like a towering mountain, crashing heavily onto the Flame Dragon Ghost Bat’s head as it spewed fire.
