She Came to Heal, Stayed to Conquer

A Turkic cavalry leader wielded a curved blade, loudly commanding in the Turkic language. Next to him, several daring cavalrymen steadied their nerves, drew their bows, and shot arrows at the motorcycle.

Arrows whistled through the air, and Han Lei skillfully maneuvered the motorcycle, dodging left and right behind the windshield, causing the arrows to miss.

One or two arrows hit Ping Chuan and Hua Tianyou, but the insert-board bulletproof vests they wore protected them, rebounding the arrows off hard.

The opening of the petrol barrel wasn’t large, and as the motorcycle raced along, the spilling gasoline drew a long arc along the ground.

The gasoline trail formed a faint arc in front of the Vanguard Camp, and the air was filled with a pungent gasoline smell.

”Miss Han, the gasoline is gone.”

Ping Chuan shouted while taking out a firestick from his bosom.

”That’s enough!” Han Lei shouted, ”Light it up!”

”Yes!”

Ping Chuan replied loudly. After blowing the firestick alight, he threw it unhesitatingly towards the gasoline trail on the ground.

Boom!

The motorcycle roared past, and as the flames touched, they instantly turned into a blazing wall of fire behind the motorcycle. The fire wall was several hundred meters long, cutting off a large number of Turkic soldiers.

The Turkic soldiers, frightened by the sudden blaze, retreated repeatedly, many scorched by the tongues of fire and falling to the ground with screams.

”Wow haha, this is exhilarating. Now, I’m sure to earn a great merit! Haha...”

Hua Tianyou excitedly stood up from the back seat of the motorcycle, waving the handgun in his hand.

Everyone in the Beiguan Camp knew he was the son of Duke Heng and that he was using his family’s status to gather military merits in the camp.

Though everyone addressed him as ’young master’ or ’lord’ before him, he knew that in a place like the military camp that lived by strength, people secretly actually looked down on him.

Earlier, hearing Han Lei say that his lucky strike had killed the Turkic commander, he wanted to laugh but dared not make a sound, afraid Han Lei would give him two slaps.

Now, not only had he killed the enemy commander, but he also personally protected Han Lei and Ping Chuan as they charged into the enemy camp; seeing Han Lei’s fire plan succeed, he was beyond words with excitement.

Killing the enemy commander and successfully separating the enemy forces amounted to a huge military merit! He would boast about this achievement for the rest of his life. Wow haha!

With the supplies burning, the Turkic soldiers had retreated somewhat in that direction, and the appearance of the motorcycle scared nearby Turkic soldiers into escaping.

Now, the Turkic soldiers outside the fire wall were further driven back by the flames, unable to organize an effective attack.

Inside the fire wall, Zhao Zun’s trusted aides and the Vanguard Camp brothers were boosted in morale, wielding their weapons with renewed effort, and fighting the few remaining Turkic soldiers around them fiercely.

Hearing Hua Tianyou’s cheer, Han Lei’s full lips curled slightly, she glanced once more at the blazing fire wall, and only then turned the motorcycle sharply towards Zhao Zun’s direction.

Zhao Zun’s gaze shifted from the suddenly ignited fire wall to the speeding motorcycle, watching the approaching Han Lei, he threw his longsword aside with joy and went up to greet her.

”Girl, girl.”

Zhao Zun shouted as he ran, spreading his arms wide.

Han Lei heard Zhao Zun’s call, feeling a surge of warmth in her heart. She quickly parked the motorcycle and turned off the engine, jumping off to run towards Zhao Zun.

”Zhao Zun.”

Under the glow of the fire, two figures dashed towards each other, and finally, in the midst of thousands of soldiers and horses, tightly embraced.

At this moment, it was as if the entire world came to a standstill.

”Girl, finally got to see you!”

Zhao Zun tightly embraced Han Lei, his voice slightly choked. His face brushing against Han Lei’s helmet, as if verifying the reality of it all.

”I’m glad I made it in time, almost scared me to death.”

Han Lei’s eyes filled with tears instantly. She embraced Zhao Zun tightly in return, as if transferring all her strength to him.

”Woo~”

Hua Tianyou casually whistled, then watched the pair locked in a tight embrace with some amusement.

Ping Chuan’s face flushed slightly upon seeing this scene, but he couldn’t help showing a relieved smile.

They knew what this reunion meant for Zhao Zun and Han Lei. They all silently sat on the motorcycle, guarding this hard-won warmth.

Xiao Zhengfei took advantage of the moment to glance back at his master, his whole body shuddered as he suddenly felt a burden weighing on his shoulders.

”Brothers, stay alert, keep fighting!”

Xiao Zhengfei shouted, quickening and intensifying the strikes of his sword.

As Zhao Zun’s trusted aide, at this moment, he needed to secure precious time for his master, ensuring he could embrace with satisfaction and comfort.

Two thousand men ambushing twenty thousand enemies, all were flesh and blood; even with abilities, upon taking this mission, Zhao Zun had reckoned there might be no return, already prepared for death.

Thus, he dared to risk infiltrating the enemy center and ambushing the enemy commander.

Now, Han Lei’s appearance had allowed them to over-fulfill their mission.

With the fire wall in front and a cleared retreat behind, the Turkic soldiers around them were dwindling, handled by the aides, he momentarily couldn’t bear to loosen his hold of the beloved one in his arms.

The longing from many days and the change in the battle turned the hug into a kiss.
