Social Animals? My Brother is a Female Empress in the Underworld and Earns 10 Billion a Month!

9: Incident codenamed ”DF001”The micro-movie filming concluded successfully, and all the ghost reapers breathed a sigh of relief. Shang Wan Ning announced happily, ”This micro-movie is a huge success. Thank you all for your hard work!”

You Wu flattered her with a fawning expression, ”The BOSS is truly a genius! Your movie is so full of plot and educational significance. Hahahaha...” His laughter echoed throughout the set, sending a chill down the ghosts’ spines.

Shang Wan Ning wore an expression of ’this student is worth teaching,’ appearing very satisfied with her work.

On the side, You Yu and the other ghost reapers were desperately holding back their laughter, thinking to themselves, ”No, we absolutely can’t let the BOSS know she filmed a pile of hot garbage.”

All the ghosts knew in their hearts that if any mortal dared to give this movie a bad review, they would be in trouble—they might just have someone... knocking on their door at midnight.

”Alright, everyone is dismissed! Rest tonight. The patrol team will continue catching ghosts tomorrow.” Shang Wan Ning was preparing to go back to her room and have a good rest on her soft, large bed.

At this moment, You Yu suddenly stepped forward and asked cautiously, ”BOSS, the employee section of the underworld app—the staff benefits are out. Tier 1 monthly salary is 100, Tier 2 is 1000, Tier 3 is 10000... isn’t that a bit low?”

Hearing this, the ghosts retreated dozens of steps, fearing the Big Sis would vent her resentment on them.

However, You Yu showed no fear. The ghosts couldn’t help but praise him in their hearts; Team Leader You Yu was truly brave!

At the same time, the ghosts’ hearts were filled with a frenzy of ”+1000 likes,” expressing their admiration for You Yu.

”It’s not low! These are all base salaries. The more you work, the more you earn; distribution according to labor. Besides, for ghost-catching income, you get thirty percent and the underworld gets seventy. The company also provides the ’Five Insurances and One Fund’ plus social security, with room and board included. You even get a pension. Is there any company this good out there?” Shang Wan Ning looked at the ghosts and spoke with total sincerity.

The ghosts nodded one after another, feeling that the BOSS made a lot of sense. Even college graduates out there couldn’t find jobs!

”Big Sis, our benefits are too good. How about we reduce them a bit?” one of the ghosts suggested.

”Yeah, yeah! I saw on my phone that during the startup phase, funds are very tight,” another ghost chimed in.

Shang Wan Ning waved her hand hurriedly, ”No need, no need. No matter how hard it gets, we can’t let our brothers and sisters suffer!” Her tone was firm and sincere.

”Sob, sob, Big Sis is so kind. We will follow Big Sis to the death.” The ghosts were moved to tears, expressing their willingness to follow Shang Wan Ning forever.

”That’s right...” the other ghosts also voiced their support.

You Yu, however, felt extremely confused. He muttered to himself, ”Do ghosts need to retire? Are the ’Five Insurances and One Fund’ plus social security even useful for ghosts?”

”Ghosts don’t need maternity insurance... and if the logistics staff don’t catch ghosts, where does their salary come from???”

But he didn’t dare expose Shang Wan Ning easily, knowing full well that as a smart ghost, if he offended the Big Sis, the consequences would be unthinkable.

Thus, he decided to remain silent and continue observing the situation. At that moment, Shang Wan Ning gave You Yu a knowing look and then turned to leave.

Only You Yu was left standing there, his ghostly heart unable to calm down for a long time. He patted his chest as black mist emerged, murmuring to himself, ”Good, good, I held back. From now on, I’ll be the Big Sis’s number one lackey.”

Only this way could he ensure that his head wouldn’t be smashed by those angry ghost reapers in the future. Thinking of this, You Yu wept silently in his heart.

A week had passed since the last appearance of the Underworld. The internet worldwide was in an uproar, and the circle of cultivators was also becoming restless.

Discussions about the ”Underworld” on Tuibo were so intense that the site was almost lagging to a halt.

”Avoid eating rabbits: Oh my god! So those strange magnetic field phenomena were caused by ’ghosts’.”

”superman: So cool! The Underworld is like a superman.”

”Park Ni-ma: The ’Underworld’ definitely belongs to our Great Country H.”

”Type 95 Keyboard Fighter: Thief upstairs, please shut up. Does the whole world belong to your family? You jerk!!! You even make eating H-style kimchi feel like a state banquet. Bad review! (￢_￢)”

”Iron Man Mouse Man: Brother upstairs, I support you!”

”Type 95 Keyboard Fighter: @Iron Man Mouse Man, Big Brother, I’m a girl from the Northeast! That’s touching, buddy... C City Public Security Bureau—Criminal Investigation Detachment.”

Inside the Criminal Investigation Detachment office of the C City Public Security Bureau, the atmosphere was tense and busy. The detectives were fully concentrated on their work, their pens constantly recording various clues and information about ’supernatural incidents’ across the city.

A sharp telephone ring broke the silence of the office. An operator quickly picked up the phone, ”Hello, this is the C City Public Security Bureau Criminal Investigation Detachment. What’s the matter?”

The anxious voice of a community police officer came from the other end: ”Come quickly to Room 407, 4th Floor, Area A of XX Community! A vicious murder has occurred here! The preliminary casualty count is five.”

Hearing this news, the entire Second and Third Teams of the Criminal Investigation Detachment immediately sprang into action. The two captains led their team members to quickly gather their equipment and prepare to head to the crime scene.

Police cars with flashing red and blue lights sped away. On the road, the Team One Captain maintained contact with other departments via radio to ensure the scene was handled properly.

Upon arriving at the crime scene, the detectives quickly launched an investigation, carefully observing the environment around the residential building in Area A.

When the bedroom door of Room 407 was opened, the sight before them made even the veteran detectives’ skin crawl: five bloody female corpses were strewn on the floor, their limbs arranged in an extremely bizarre and twisted posture. (Imagine it yourself~)

Fresh, eye-piercing blood was dripping everywhere; the whole scene was unbearable to look at and nauseating.

Team One Captain Qi Yang’s face was as pale as paper. He gripped a nearby table tightly, leaned over, and vomited violently. ”Where on earth did this come from? A psychopathic serial killer!” His words were filled with anger.

Sounds of vomiting echoed around; the scene was exceptionally tragic.

Team Two Captain Chu Ke suppressed his inner discomfort and approached the corpses step by step. He took a deep breath, trying to swallow the urge to vomit, his gaze falling on a piece of skin that had just been half-peeled off.

”The killer’s technique is incredibly skilled. The skinning was done in one go without any hesitation, and the thickness of the human skin is exactly the same.”

This was definitely not something an ordinary human could achieve, nor could it be done with modern science and technology. Chu Ke’s heart sank, and an ominous feeling welled up. ”Old Qi, it’s another ghost murder case.”

After a long while, Qi Yang punched the wall; he couldn’t even feel the pain as blood seeped from his fingers. He leaned against the wall weakly and sat down, covering his reddened eyes. ”Damn it, no need to guess. Those godforsaken ghosts did it.”

Chu Ke patted Qi Yang’s shoulder and said, ”Old Qi~ we have more important things to do!”

”Yeah!” Qi Yang stood up dejectedly, his back looking somewhat lonely.

”Old Qian, report the situation to the province immediately. I’m afraid this case isn’t something the city’s Criminal Investigation Detachment can solve.”

Chu Ke knew the complexity and severity of this case. If a breakthrough couldn’t be found in time, more innocent lives would be threatened.

”Okay, Captain Chu. I’ll get on it right away.” With that, Old Qian turned and left, his face also bearing a hint of gravity... Inside the Team One office of the C City Criminal Investigation Detachment, members were still busy organizing materials related to ”Wenchang Hospital.”

The operation from a week ago was fresh in everyone’s memory. Now, facing inquiries from the Provincial Department, they needed to present the detailed circumstances of that time one by one.

”The Wenchang Hospital incident is being tracked by the personnel involved; the incident’s code name is ’DF001.’ Considering the current police resources, this case is being transferred to the relevant responsible department.” Lin Ran stood up and clapped her hands to get everyone’s attention, her voice revealing a hint of exhaustion.

”Everyone hasn’t slept for two days. Go back to the breakroom and sleep now. Tomorrow morning at nine, we’ll gather in Meeting Hall E201.” Lin Ran’s gaze swept over every team member.

”Yes, Captain Lin!” everyone responded in unison. Though exhausted, their voices remained loud and powerful.

Yan Tingting scratched her head, a confused expression on her face as she asked, ”Captain Lin, do you think those things we saw a week ago were real? I always feel like it was a nightmare...”

Lin Ran didn’t answer Yan Tingting’s question immediately. Instead, after a moment of silence, she said, ”Ting Ting, don’t think too much. Go back and rest for now.” She then picked up her jacket from the side and walked out quickly.

In truth, Lin Ran’s own mind was a mess; she was still in a state of complete bewilderment.

Over the past week, despite the help from the so-called Underworld patrol team, the casualty rate in C City had already surpassed triple digits, not to mention the situation in other regions of Xia Country and abroad.
