The hivemind is conquering for me?

Evanthe looked between us for a moment before audibly gulping. ”O-of course. Let me just-” Evanthe reached below her booth before pulling out a gun. A really big gun. The gun was both wider and taller than the woman I noticed as she with very little difficulty placed it on the table between us.

After placing it down, she stroked the stock with a familiarity and lost that shyness she seemed to previously have. ”This is the PPR-L216. One of the smaller Psionic rifles we own here. It looks a little clunky, I know, but with the amount of Psionic energy that gets passed through these things, they need to be sturdy over visual appeal.”

I did notice the frame of the gun was quite rectangular and thick with its short buttstock and single pod. As I was looking it over, a voice next to me spoke. ”Where do you chamber the ammunition? I don’t see any entrance to the gun beside up its barrel and that looks more like an over vent”

Evanthe looked up towards the Sepiida and was taken by surprise. ’Sepiidans know guns?’ She was under the impression that Sepiidans only talked about nails and clothes and all the other girly stuff. So she was a little stunned at the moment. That was until.

”Miss?” The deep tone of the pretty man spoke, causing her to realise she was gawking. ”Sorry. Sorry, I wasn’t expecting you to know guns, that’s my fault. Now, you are correct, there is no chambering. These guns require very special training. We have modified how we create Psionic bullets to fit within these weapons, we then charge the inside with Psionic energy and then. Fwooosh!” She mimicked a bullet flying by moving her arm left to right in a rapid motion. ”Whatever is over there is gone! hehe!”

Janine was enthralled by the weapon before her while I was more interested in these modified Psionic bullets. I didn’t know enough about actual bullets to change mine other than adding and using Sol’s fire to make them more powerful. If at first I was curious about this class, I am now most definitely interested. ’Perhaps I could actually do damage to Jewel with the correct bullet type instead of her just being super sexy and saying. Oh! Another microsecond! I will shock her and then we will fuck for a week.’

I smiled at the wonderful thought and came to as Janine asked the question. ”Can I hold the weapon? Just for a second, please? I won’t fire it, I don’t know how. I just want to hold this beauty.”

Evanthe looked around nervously. ”I-uh. No one is supposed to. This is really new technology, only a few years maximum, only tested on the Drakoshi front as well. Unless you are enrolled in the program, it is illegal for you to touch it.”

Janine’s face looked saddened, but understanding as she backed away, until her saviour came to her side. Nerissa picked up the rifle under the shocked gaze of Evanthe, who had for her own mental fortitude blocked out the Praetorians presence, and asked as she expected the weapon for herself.

”Well, what If I grant permission to let this Sepiida touch it. You should be aware of the fact I operate above the law. You would have zero legal repercussions if I gave Janine the weapon... Speaking of, this is actually impressive weaponry, I will have to take a look into this myself.”

Evanthe was struck with awe at the fact the Praetorian was helping the Sepiida. She never would have expected it. ”Um... I suppose since you are giving permission, there should be no legal repercussions. Ok”

Janine became overjoyed at this news and a perverted look came upon her face as Nerissa handed her the rifle. However the look dropped the moment she held its weight. ”Fuck!” She exclaimed as she almost dropped the thing before mounting it on the table and looked through its scope.

”Yeah, it’s pretty heavy, I am just used to slugging around the bigger guns so I forgot. Um, sorry about that.” She said, causing me to thoroughly inspect her body with my gaze. The woman looked like a strong wind would blow her over, yet she could carry around a ’heavy’ weapon like that.

I smiled. ’Psionics are amazing.’

As Janine began ogling the new rifle, cuckolding her old one that was slung over Orchids shoulder, I asked Evanthe. ”Evanthe, what made you choose this course yourself? If it’s quite new, surely something drew you to it?”

Evanthe smiled as I asked, but not a happy smile, it was the type of wincey smile you do when remembering something painful, but are trying to show you are fine. ”Oh, sorry, I didn’t mean to-”

”No its fine, It is still just a bit raw, but I don’t mind sharing. Basically the short version is I am from a noble family of knights, it’s how my ancestors got their nobility and we have kept the tradition alive for hundreds of years. We also specialise in the sword outside of our mechs, but I was born really weak and for the most of my childhood could barely get out of my wheelchair most days.”

I nodded my head, actively listening to what she had to say, I didn’t apologise though, I had a feeling she got that a lot and was sick of hearing it.

”I still wanted to be useful to my family though and began training with firearms... My mum and dad... Didn’t like that, they said I was too fragile and sick, but well... I loved it. I get this exhilarated feeling even now when I shoot. There is just something magical about it.”

Evanthe then looked up at me and blushed for some reason. ”Sorry. I digress. Basically, at 19 I awoke my Psionic power so bizarrely, I dropped my knife while I was eating and it was going straight for my foot when I extended my hand and well, It returned to my hand. Turns out I have mild Ferrokinesis, the ability to manipulate metals.”

I nodded my head already knowing that, it was quite obvious after all.

”Well that was enough to get me into the college last year and it felt like a calling when I saw the Psionic weapons course. It just felt right. And it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me... Um, sorry if I revealed too much, I am not used to pretty people talking to me.” She said, though I think she didn’t mean to add that last part as her eyes went wide with shock before looking to the ground.

Just as I was about to reply, Janine spoke in my stead, still fiddling with the gun. ”Trust me, don’t be sorry, you are cursed now.” Evanthe looked up at Janine and asked. ”Cursed? W-what do you mean?”

Janine sighed, looking away from the gun and shook her head at the woman, knowing she had made a grave error. ”You have opened up to this big lovable lug of a man. Apollo imprints of people he knows about. You have made the mistake of telling him about your past. He is now interested in you and even if you and he don’t know it, you are going to be friends now, so you might want to get used to that idea as he is quite clingy... Now, how many meters per second can these Psionic bullets fire?”

”R-Really?” Evanthe spoke up meekly causing me to look towards Janine with a scornful expression. ”No, you aren’t cursed, I just like getting to know people and-” ”-You want to be my friend?”

My head tilted to the side in confusion, that was not the part I thought she was asking about. ”Well... Sure, I like making friends, and I think having conversations with you while looking into those beautiful green eyes will just be spectacular.” I said, causing Orchid to roll her eyes at me not using my filter again.

Evanthe then looked at the Sepiida and the Praetorian before looking back at Apollo and asked. ”But why would you want to be friends with me? Aren’t you like... Important?”

”Important?” I parroted. ”What would give you the impression I was important?” I said, confused. I didn’t think I looked important. I wasn’t even wearing expensive clothing. Just a tshirt, some pants and my favourite jacket. Nothing out of the ordinary. ’ Like seriously? What could possibly give off the impression I am an important individual?’

Apollo thought as he stood next to a Praetorian, the highest most elite warriors in the Spartari empire, this specific one who left her post to follow him around and a Sepiida, gifted to those who have worked hard for Spartari, or performed heroic feats.

I looked around as Janine, Orchid and even Nerissa underneath her mask, alongside even the new friend I had made were all giving me this deadpan expression, looking at me like I said something stupid.

”What?”
