The hivemind is conquering for me?

Ecumenopolis 4:

They walked stealthily, This was trivial. Getting through that pathetic excuse for a blockade was one thing, but this species just screams incompetent. On the lesser species’ planet, they would through the streets with no one the wiser. Their technology was too advanced for these primitives.

Not that it mattered. The street they were on was barren. Not a single being despite it being local time midday.

’Be on alert, they could have detected us.’ A voice whispered. ’Preposterous. This species is too inept, we shall simply retrieve the target and leave. No more idle thinking until the mission is complete.’

Silence took over once more and the apparent group had made it to the target building. Sophia’s. A nightclub owned by whoever freed the target. The group collectively shook with disgust at the lack of security as the lot of them entered through the front door completely uncontested.

Right into the belly of the beast...

They entered the main lobby before heading down a set of stairs on the right in perfect formation, their blades and phasers on standby ready for almost anything the primitives could throw at them.

As they entered through the doors into the quiet dance hall, there was a woman with purple hair sitting at the bar speaking to herself and holding a black baton in her hands. Unaware, inebriated. With a thought the team moved ahead to take out the individual as she continued to mutter.

”Nah, you need to chill with the blood orgy thing. It’s all you say. Apollo is going to start thinking we are weird... No he had sex with us in all that blood because he loves us, not because he enjoyed it. Honestly it’s like I am talking to a bunch of horny cock gremlins. Also, your four really should not have come here. There are fates a lot worse than death in this establishment.”

The one whose blade was about to come down on the small human suddenly realised she was being addressed and was about to forsake an elegant takedown for an efficient murder when all off a sudden

”KRRAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” A screech emerged from the being because she dropped to the ground. Before the shock of a comrade down could process, Keyla had manipulated the baton in her hand and aimed it at all the faint outlines she could see for no more than a second, the same thing happening to each one before dropping the baton.

She didn’t mean to drop the baton so when she looked down at her hand to find the lack of one, it made a lot more sense. ”Fucking gross. How Apollo managed to survive under that beam for as long as he claimed is beyond me. My fucking hand! How do those golden bananas manage to hold it for that long without disintegrating?”

Suddenly a pair of heels began echoing closer. ”Because they have training that we lack. This stuff is not to be messed with. Though I suppose this is why Onyx left it for us...” Sophia looked from the unconscious aliens in front of her to Keyla and showed genuine concern.

”Are you going to be ok Keyla? Thank you for doing that, but only you have some modicum of resistance to Anti Psionic properties.” Keyla shrugged her shoulders and placed her nub under her chin, blood covering it in the process.

”Oh it’s nothing mother. My life for the cult yadayda, you get it, you wrote the memo. I think It’s going to take a few days till I can activate my more bloody self to heal this though. That shit is some powerful anti us.”

Sophia then looked down at the four individuals and smiled smugly. ”Inferior hivemind. Your target isn’t even here anymore, one day too late... How unfortunate.” All four were unconscious, but Sophia had this overwhelming urge to boast at this alien species.

”Keyla, stop poking it.” She suddenly came to, as Keyla began poking the alien. ”Look, it’s green and oh my! They have fused their tech into their flesh, look! This one’s mouth is also their rebreather?... Kind of pointless though huh? I mean your mouth is already a breather, though if they go to planets that don’t have their biological needs... Oh I wanna eat this bitch so bad.”

Sophia shook her head, she would be rewarding Keyla for her temporary sacrifice, but she needed information from these creatures first... She supposed she could kill two birds with one stone.

”Keyla, take these prisoners to the cells. The dark ones. When they wake up, which who knows with the disgusting energy they were subdued to, I will let you torture them for intelligence first before I take over.”

Keyla sharply inhaled hearing this information and closed her eyes. ”Mmhhh~ I just came with how happy you just made me! Ok I will get them downstairs ASAP!” Keyla then began dragging the first body before Sophia interrupted once again.

”And Keyla. Make sure they don’t die during your fun, I know how you get ahead of yourself. If one of them is the mother of Janine, That would require further plans. Oh! And put that baton somewhere out of harm’s way.”

...

Inside our room, Orchid was panting heavily after I allowed her to feed me again. After wiping my mouth I spoke to her. So, are all your preparations complete? The scripts you need to follow memorised?”

She lazily nodded her head, still in overload from having her kink satisfied. ”Yes, Apollo-love. Orchid has done as you asked. The blood is concentrated and ready to go and Orchid knows to use her ’I’s’ when not around you.”

I knelt down beside her and gave her a kiss on the top of her head. ”That’s my good love bug.” I then left the room and made my way to the cockpit where Janine and Ronnie were playing a game.

”Oww!” Ronnie exclaimed as his hands were struck by Janine. He then reluctantly placed his hands back down and when he noticed her arms flinch he pulled his hands up straight away. ”Ha, get baited buddy. Now I get a free slap!” Janine said before

*Twack*”

Ronnie pulled his hands back and began blowing on them and rubbing them. ”Mercenaries really play this game? It seems counter intuitive considering using your hands to fire weapons is like, your whole thing.”

Janine shrugged her shoulders. ”Most of what we did was salvage jobs on the border with the Coalition, we were after all, a money laundering front for Kathrine. Can’t go on expensive planet sieges all the time, that’s bad for her purse.”

Janine then smacked out again at Ronnie’s hand while he was not expecting it due to her meeting his eyes. ”Do you want me to tag in for you Ronnie?” I said with a cheery demeanour and before he could agree, Janine yelled.

”I am not playing this with you! Are you mental?!? Apollo, I have seen you fight for real. When you focus up your arms leave fucking afterimages. It would be like a sloth trying to swat away a bullet, not happening. Ronnie is just fresh, but we are evenly matched. A few more slaps and he will have all my idiosyncrasies and tells down. Won’t you pal?” Janine said, turning her head towards Ronnie and smiled sweetly.

Ronnie nodded with the determination of a gladiator. His father was here to observe him now. He wouldn’t lose again! Rolling up his sleeves, he exposed his forearms and alongside it a white tattoo in the shape of a hand.

I gazed upon the marking for a moment, confused as only Jinx, thanks to a lot of genetic manipulation, had tattoos among the hive, until I remembered. ”Oh Ronnie, what are you going to say when people see your brand?”

He couldn’t just tell people he was one of my gifted, that didn’t really make any sense to those outside of the cult and would invoke follow up questions. ”Oh! Mother told me this. She Told me to say that it is to remember my family. And that the brand is a reminder that wherever I go, I am always carrying them with me.”

Oof. I took some damage from what Ronnie just said. It was a beautiful sentiment and felt pride well up within me. My Hive family and my chosen Family. Both were truly amazing and little things like this made me love them all the more.

*Sniff* Turning towards the source of the sniff, Janine wiped the corner of her eye as a tear was threatening to fall. With the attention on herself she suddenly exclaimed. ”What? I thought it was sweet. I am a female. I am allowed to find sappy shit like that beautiful aren’t I?”

Seeing Janine on the verge of tears, I started. ”Well, of course you can, I didn’t say otherwise, W-

*Twack*

”OWWIE!” Ronnie raised his hands again and Janine began giggling before she stated.

”You know, I think Talia is onto something with the fake crying schtick. Works an absolute charm on your little male brains hahaha!”
