Awakening The Only SSS-Rank Class! Now Even Dragons Obey Me

Chapter 879: A Deal With An Old Man II

The founder remained silent for a long time.

The sound of the waterfall once again echoed throughout the ancient temple, but this time it no longer carried the same calmness as before. Amidst that heavy silence, only his deep gaze remained fixed on Daniel; a gaze no longer of contempt or superiority, but one that concealed a mixture of curiosity, caution, and a thousand years of calculation.

He had spent years... more precisely, centuries, planning the creation of a vessel.

All those thousands of years ago, when he had failed to attract the attention of the thousand spells, he understood that he lacked the potential to reach the peak of magic and go beyond it.

His other companions, however, were arrogant and prideful, unwilling to accept their limitations, which ultimately led to their death and destruction.

But he? He was different. Unlike the others, instead of trying to break his limitations through ordinary methods, he sought a shortcut.

And he understood that the best way was to create a vessel with the potential to reach the peak of magic.

For this, he spent centuries until he managed to create a great magical skill that could produce such a vessel, and for this, he needed an embryo.

He used the Lionheart family. The old man of that family owed him a favor and was willing to give him one of their children.

Of course, he had only told that old man that he wanted a student to carry on his legacy, not the full truth.

He was sure Lioran was a vessel that could help him reach the peak of magic, but going beyond that... even he wasn’t certain.

But now, this boy before him was offering him a great proposal. He knew how powerful the power of eternity, originating from the essence and concept of eternity, truly was.

If an embryo were blessed by such power, and he also performed his great skill on it... he would have a body even more powerful than Lioran’s.

It would take time, but so what? He had waited all these years and could wait a little longer.

Still, he shouldn’t show it in a way that made this boy think he was desperate and needed it.

Finally, he slowly placed the teacup on the stone table.

”The power of eternity was indeed impressive.” His gaze lingered on Daniel’s fingers for a moment.

”But in the end, it’s still just a law. It’s not enough to create a vessel better than Lioran.”

”I spent a thousand years investing in building that vessel. A thousand years of time, resources, calculations, and waiting... Do you think showing me a law will change my mind?”

Daniel only smiled calmly. A smile that showed not a trace of doubt. He knew this old man was acting and didn’t want to appear desperate.

”Who said... I only have eternity?” Though he also had trump cards for this plan.

His brief sentence made the founder turn back to him. The old man’s eyes narrowed again.

Before he could say anything, Daniel quietly raised his right hand.

This time, no golden light appeared, no wave spread through space. But at that very moment... the temple’s air changed.

No... reality itself changed.

The space around Daniel’s hand, like invisible glass, slowly began to crack.

Black, deep, endless fissures appeared in the air; fissures from which no mana escaped, but rather swallowed space itself.

As if the world could no longer tolerate the presence of that force.

The temple’s white columns trembled.

The ancient runes carved on the walls, which had glowed ceaselessly for thousands of years, went dark one by one.

Even the sunlight passing through the waterfall bent near those fissures.

The founder involuntarily stepped forward, and his face changed color once more.

”...The Law of Destruction?” There was no trace of a smile anymore, and his voice had grown heavy.

”Impossible... how can a human cultivate two supreme laws?! And at such a young age?”

But his shock was not yet over. Daniel didn’t even look at him, simply closed his fingers quietly, and the black fissures vanished.

And immediately... the temple’s space changed again.

This time, not with destruction... but with silence. The sound of the waterfall suddenly ceased, not because the water had stopped... but because life around it had forgotten to breathe for a moment.

The green leaves by the lake slowly turned to ash.

The white flowers by the water withered without being touched.

Death...

In the form of a law that all beings, unwillingly, bowed before.

A few seconds later, Daniel took a quiet breath.

All those effects vanished. The leaves turned green again, the flowers bloomed again, the waterfall roared once more.

As if death had only passed by this world for a moment.

”...The Law of Death...” The founder murmured under his breath, his eyes quietly fixed on Daniel.

”Eternity...”

”Destruction...”

”Death...” He took a deep breath.

”Three supreme laws...?” This time, even he couldn’t hide his disbelief.

Simultaneously, jealousy filled his entire being. Even as a Demi-God, he could no longer control his emotions.

This young man before him possessed exactly the talent he had desired his entire life!

Truly, life was so unfair...

”These aren’t all of them.” But Daniel only shook his head.

He stepped forward a few paces. The distance between them was now only a few meters.

”If you agree to set Lioran aside, I will prepare a body for you that is blessed not just by eternity, not just by death, not just by destruction...” He paused for a moment and then continued quietly:

”But by a thousand spells of magic as well.”

The temple’s space fell into silence again. This time, it was the founder who laughed. A loud laugh, but full of disbelief.

”Thousand spells?” He shook his head slowly.

”The same spells that even I, after a thousand years, couldn’t tame?”

”The same legacy that even the founders couldn’t claim?” He gave a bitter smile.

Daniel gave no further explanation. He quietly closed his eyes, and within his soul, an endless silence spread.

”Help me.” Then he whispered in a quiet but sincere voice.

Nothing happened at first. A few seconds... only the sound of the waterfall could be heard.

The founder smiled quietly. But just as he was about to say something...

A golden rune appeared beside Daniel, emerging from within his soul.

A few moments later...

A second rune.

Then a third.

Fourth.

Fifth.

Dozens of ancient runes, one after another, formed around Daniel.

None had been summoned, no forced contract existed. They had come of their own will.

Hundreds of legendary spells, like living stars, spun around Daniel.

Some radiated a gentle light, some drew closer to him, and others, like loyal guardians, formed a circle around him.

In all the past thousand years... the founder had never seen such a sight.

His lips parted involuntarily. His eyes wandered among those hundreds of luminous runes.

”They... listen to you...” He whispered quietly.

Daniel opened his eyes. A calm smile was on his lips. He had shown everything necessary, and now it was time to see the result.

He was sure his plan would succeed.

”The spells trust me.” His gaze locked directly with the founder’s eyes.

This sentence was more formidable than any power.

Because obedience could be forced, but trust... was something even he, after a thousand years, had never been able to receive from the thousand spells.

The founder was silent for a long time.

He looked at the runes many times, at Daniel many times, and at the memories of the past thousand years many times.

Finally, he slowly closed his eyes.

”...Fine.” His voice no longer carried its former pride.

”Until you prove your words are false, I will set Lioran aside as a vessel. From this moment, the process of preparing his body will stop.”

This showed just how obsessed he was with a flawless vessel. So much so that he was willing to set aside a vessel he had been preparing for twenty years for the sake of a better one.

Of course, from his own perspective, it wasn’t a foolish move. If he could obtain a vessel talented enough to surpass the peak of magic... discarding one vessel didn’t matter.

Though he still had backup plans for emergencies.

He was silent for a few moments, then fixed his gaze on Daniel.

”But if you fail, you will take his place yourself.”

”Agreed.” Daniel didn’t even blink, just smiled.

The founder raised his right hand. The air between them rippled. A massive rune, dark silver in color, formed at the center of the temple.

This was no ordinary spell. It was a law that directly bonded with the soul.

”Soul Contract. If either of us breaks its terms, not the body, but the soul will be destroyed.” This was necessary to ensure this young man wouldn’t back out.

It was a contract that could bind any being below a Demi-God, and he doubted this young man was even close to being a Demi-God or could reach that level anytime soon.

Daniel stepped forward without the slightest hesitation. A drop of blood from each of them fell into the center of the rune.

The rune shone with a blinding light and then split in two. Half sank into the founder’s soul, and the other half into Daniel’s.

The contract was sealed. There was no turning back, no possibility of betrayal... perhaps.

”Give me 3 years to prepare the body for you.”

”No problem. I’ll give you 5 years. But if after 5 years the body isn’t ready, I’ll take yours instead.” The founder said quietly.

”Agreed. So I hope you won’t interfere in Lioran’s matter anymore.”

The old man said nothing and nodded. Still, he had his own hidden plans and backups. Even if this boy found a way to bypass him, it wouldn’t be a problem.

Daniel turned quietly. Without another word, he left the temple. The sound of his footsteps slowly faded into the waterfall’s mist.

The founder watched his back until the very last moment, motionless.

After the stone gate closed, he fixed his gaze on the artificial sky of his realm.

”Three supreme laws...” His gaze lingered on the empty space Daniel had occupied.

”And a thousand spells who don’t obey him... but chose him themselves...” His old eyes slowly closed.

”You... who exactly are you?”
