Helping Beautiful Women Become Stronger, I Have a Love System

9: Chapter 9 The Beautiful Female Boss Ji GuangliSister Zhang’s full name was Zhang Fangfang.

She was 36 years old this year, with a plump round face. When she smiled, her eyes would narrow into slits, which didn’t match the ’Fangfang’ in her name at all.

She was an advertising designer for Sales Department Two and had been with the company for four years; she was an incredible gossip.

Which department had a newcomer, who was having a flirtatious fling with whom, or what the boss’s mood was like today—she could always find out everything through various channels and was keen on sharing it immediately.

The ’She-Devil’ she spoke of was Ji Guangli, the manager of Sales Department Two, where Cao Kun worked.

Ji Guangli was 29 years old and a well-known workaholic in the company.

She was about 1.68 meters tall with excellent proportions—voluptuous where she should be and lean without a hint of excess fat elsewhere. Her waist and hips, in particular, had a brisk yet sexy charm when she walked.

She had a classic oval face with fair skin and bright, elegant features. Her phoenix eyes slanted slightly upward at the corners, carrying a sense of detachment and scrutiny even when she wasn’t angry. With a high bridge to her nose, full lips, and bright red lipstick, her presence could overwhelm anyone.

One could say she was the type who would get a 200% head-turn rate on the street, yet most men only dared to watch from afar without the courage to approach her.

Her overly outstanding appearance and career-oriented assertiveness had instead become invisible barriers on her path to romance.

As the saying goes, pretty girls get pursued, but girls who are too pretty don’t.

Men her age found her unattainable, either feeling inferior or assuming she was already taken.

Older, successful men she found too materialistic or lacking common ground.

As for those playboy ’rich second-generation’ types, they didn’t even catch her eye.

Combined with the fact that she poured all her energy into work and pursued ultimate performance, her love life remained a blank slate even as she approached thirty. She was the universally recognized ’Ice Goddess’ of the company.

Hearing Sister Zhang’s warning, Cao Kun instinctively tensed his muscles.

Over the past two years, he had experienced plenty of Ji Guangli’s harsh teachings.

At first, he had been smug about having such a beautiful boss.

But he soon changed his mind.

Although Ji Guangli was beyond reproach regarding her subordinates’ salaries—even proactively helping those who failed to meet their targets—

Her working style was truly disliked.

Under Ji Guangli, no matter how hard the process was, it was just a buildup. If you couldn’t produce striking performance data or perfect project results, what awaited you was merciless criticism.

She never cared how much effort you put in behind the scenes or how many difficulties you encountered.

But soon, Cao Kun relaxed.

He felt the car keys in his pocket and thought of the balance of over a hundred thousand in his mobile Bank app; a faint smile appeared on his lips.

Ji Guangli failed a client negotiation, suffered a setback in competition, and was in a bad mood—what did that have to do with him, Cao Kun?

He was no longer that ’beast of burden’ who had to swallow his pride for a few thousand yuan in salary.

Today, if she dared to throw a folder in his face like she did yesterday...

He wouldn’t just take it.

”Alright, Sister Zhang, I got it. Thanks for telling me.”

Cao Kun thanked her sincerely, but his heart was calm, and he even felt a faint sense of anticipation.

8:30 AM, time to start work.

The crisp, rhythmic sound of high heels clicking on the marble floor approached from a distance.

Ji Guangli wore a well-tailored dark gray professional suit that outlined her perfect figure.

Her long hair was pulled back meticulously, revealing a smooth forehead and an elegant neck.

She looked straight ahead, her face covered in a layer of frost as she walked directly into her private office.

With a soft ’thud,’ the door closed.

But the air in the entire Department Two office area seemed to freeze instantly. Everyone instinctively softened their movements, and even the sound of typing became cautious.

Ten minutes later, the door to Ji Guangli’s office opened again.

Standing at the door, her gaze swept over everyone, her voice cold and unquestionable: ”Everyone, take your laptops and get to Meeting Room Three immediately. The boss is holding an emergency meeting for the Sales Department.”

Having said that, she was the first to turn around. The sound of her high heels clicking in the silent corridor was exceptionally clear.

Cao Kun and the other colleagues quickly packed their things and followed.

Just as they left the Department Two area, they encountered people from Sales Department One at the corner of the corridor.

Leading them was their manager, Su Hongliang, a man in his mid-thirties with slicked-back hair and a shrewd smile.

The few Department One backbones following him also walked with their heads held high, faces bearing an obvious sense of superiority.

Cao Kun’s company was called Xingchen Advertising.

Its business covered online advertising planning, filming, promotion, and operations.

As well as the design and printing of offline advertising materials.

The company’s boss, Zhang Wei, had intentionally split the sales team into Department One and Department Two to stimulate internal vitality, letting them compete with each other and letting their performance speak for itself.

Originally, there was a General Sales Manager overseeing both departments, but two months ago, the manager resigned due to a serious illness, leaving the position vacant.

The boss had made it clear that he would promote the best candidate from between Ji Guangli and Su Hongliang.

The assessment criteria were the cumulative performance for the three months of May, June, and July.

Originally, the two were neck-and-neck, but after Ji Guangli lost that big client last night, the scales instantly tipped toward Su Hongliang.

When rivals meet, their eyes blaze with hatred.

Seeing Ji Guangli, Su Hongliang’s smile grew even more radiant. He deliberately slowed his pace, speaking in a voice just loud enough for everyone in both departments to hear clearly.

”Yo, Manager Ji, morning! I heard last night’s results were brilliant! Tossing a glass of wine to pave a future—this kind of boldness is something I, Su, truly cannot match.” His tone was exaggerated, filled with undisguised mockery.

A business backbone from Department One immediately chimed in, speaking sarcastically: ”Brother Liang, you don’t understand. This is called maintaining the pure image of Xingchen Advertising. One would rather lose a deal than compromise! I just don’t know if this ’purity’ can put food on the table or meet performance targets.”

”Exactly. Some people just take themselves too seriously. Taking a client’s joke to heart—how can business be done like that?” another person chimed in.

Ji Guangli didn’t stop, nor did she even blink. Only her jawline tightened, and her fingers gripping the folder turned slightly white from the force.

But in the end, she didn’t turn back to say a word in rebuttal.

The others from Department Two looked grim, their heads lowered, feeling as if their faces were burning.

Even Cao Kun, who originally had quite a few complaints about Ji Guangli, felt a surge of anger at the other department’s blatant mockery.

Ji Guangli was his direct superior, after all. It was fine for people in their own department to say whatever they wanted in private, but when outsiders spoke up, he couldn’t stand it.

It was like one’s alma mater: you can criticize it yourself, but if an outsider says one bad thing, you can’t help but want to snap back.

However, Ji Guangli remained silent throughout.

As her subordinates, it wasn’t appropriate for them to say anything either.

The group arrived at Meeting Room Three in a delicate atmosphere and sat down according to their departments.

Soon, the boss, Zhang Wei, walked in, carrying the purple clay thermos that never left his hand.
