Lord Shadow

Chapter 2044: All Have Their Own Circumstances

That is what Sina had found out. She found out that whatever she does and says from now on could no longer affects what those two would do.

And then when she thinks of all the suffering that the people would have to endure because of the war, how many lives would be taken away....she could not help but feel powerless.

And she knew why those two could not do what she said.

This is why she felt helpless.

If those two were just enemies, she would have plenty of ways to deal with them. But they were not enemies.

Just two idea of righteousness clashing with each other.

Since that was the case, knowing those two would commit more and more mistake, Sina choose to resign from her position as advisor to Sasha and went back to her mansion.

She has other residence but she chose to go to this one. Not too far but not too close either to the capital

When she went out of the palace, no one is sending her off.

It is not because Sasha slights her. It is because she was ashamed.

But in the end, she still wants to believe Azief. She wanted to believe tat what she learns is just fabrication.

”Sasha and Wang Jian. They are the two people you pushed out. They are fighting right now. And it is getting worse. Wang Jian could not stop people behind him from forcing him to make further moves and Sasha also could not stop now that she reaches this point. One pushing the other create a reaction where the others also have to make a move”

Azief nodded

”It is human heart. Even if I stop them today. In a couple of years when I am not there, this matter would flare up again”

”Is it the policy?” Sina ask but Azief shook his head

”it has nothing to do with the policy. I am not saying the policy is perfect, but this matter ultimately did not come down from the policy. It ultimately come down from the fact that human hearts....are fickle”

”And so, you just watch as they are killing each other?” Sina is not like any other officers, or any other ministers in Pandemonium”

”Any other minister or officers in pandemonium, if they see Death Monarch coming to their house in the current situation where they are at war with each other, would prostrate themselves kowtowing to him asking for forgiven”

The first thing in their mind would be that Death Monarch is angry at them. That they have done some shady things that did not escape Death Monarch eyes

And they would kowtow so that they would not be punished

That would be their thoughts.

But Sina is different.

From the moment Azief appears in front of her doorsteps, she was relieved.

Sina did not know what to choose.

She ultimately chose Sasha but even then, she is not sure about Death Monarch intention.

At that time, she did not even know if things are under control or not

Azief did not say much but then he looks at Sina eyes and he smiles

”You seem to already determined that it was me that orchestrated all of this” Sina did not deny it. Instead, she simply nodded

Azief frowned

But he also has no desire to deny it. If he dares to do it, he dares to admit it. That has always been his method.

”How did you know?”

”Lukas, your head keeper” Azief hearing that name nodded

”Ah, him”

”Well, if it were you that asking, he probably would have told it to you. Though I doubt he did it willingly. You must have use some kind of potion on him for it to happen. Lukas knows not to betray me. So, the only possible reason he would reveal things to you would be that he had no choice but to reveal it to you”

Azief paused for a second before adding

”though, it is amazing that you finally found the information. And seek it with Lukas. Many people look down on Lukas even though he holds and wield powers in the Palace”

”To some he is just a glorified groundskeeper... Many people do not know how much I trust that palace keeper. But you know” Azief could only sighed at this.

”I heard that you also appear in Arturia. I am not sure if it was true or not so I send my Acolytes there. She should be arriving there in a few more days. I should cancel that order and send her back home”

”In the end, you yourself come here to meet me. If I know, I would not be this anxious. And you even went around the world with the Ice Queen. You really do not waste your time now that you are back”

Azief thought for a moment and then ask

” I thought all of the communication in Pandemonium is strictly controlled right now. Internal communication has no problem but outside communication is cut off”

Sina only smiles

”I have my own sources.”

”Did Loki tell you?”

Sina shakes her head

”Like I said, I have my own intelligence sources. You still look at me like I am that woman you met in the Fall”

Azief then look again at Sina and he could not help but chuckles

Yes, the current Sina is no longer the same Sina.

There is still things bayou her that is still the same.

She is still like the big sister to him. But he had forgotten. That while Death Monarch simply see her as family, as someone he could go to, to ask for advice, to the rest of the world, Sina is more than just that.

She is the Divine Alchemist and she has tens of thousands of Acolytes under her.

If she went out of Pandemonium there is many people would be eager to serve her.

Azief rarely ask for her alchemical concoction but for other people, any one of her concoction could fetch a high price in the black market.

Because each one of them have all powerful effects. From a cure to poison, to changing properties of certain objects and even alchemical concoction that could help in deterring monsters.

Azief on the other hand had rarely ask Sina for any such help. Because perfection is like that.

Since he walks the path of perfection and since he is the strongest person in the world, there is not many things in this world that could stop him.

Those who could hurt him could be counted in one hand. And for the kind of injuries that he suffers, even Sian would be helpless to help.

When he went back to Earth and finds out that he has been afflicted by some kind of magical disease, his first thought was never Sina.

Because Sina, while she is quite aptly called the Divine Alchemist, there is a limit to the things she could concoct considering her realm.

She is a Disk Formation realm.

But even though she is in the Disk Formation realm, she is in the middle realm.

She only has around five Disk.

And this five Disk...is not full if Azief had to make an assessment of it.

Of course, this is because Sina path is different.

What he considered strong in his reality, is not considered strong in Sina world.

Sina uses alchemy.

And now as she reached Disk Formation realm, her alchemy could even affect Divine Comprehension realm level.

But because she is still limited by her realm, even if she created the most poisonous alchemical concoction for Divine Comprehension leveler, it would be hard for that poison to be long lasting.

Those who reached Divine Comprehension realm are not that easy to kill.

If Azief is still in Divine Comprehension realm, even if Sina created the most powerful poison she could create, it would be nothing but pointless and futile when it encountered someone like Azief who had perfected his energy and his body.

At most it would scratch his throat. Normal poisons and normal attack do not work on beings like him.

Below Divine Comprehension realm, Sian concoction works extremely well. No, divinely well. In the end, what Sian seeks and what he seeks is different. In terms of alchemy his knowledge of it is shallow. In terms of strength, Sina is inferior.

”What did Lukas told you?” Azief ask. Sina thought for a moment and then she said

”he told me enough” Azief only chuckles at this.

”Now, you are even doing this kind of things to me” Azief said while he chuckles

Sina look at Azief eyes and she was serious this time

”Am I one of your minster or am I family?” Sina ask.

And Azief stopped chuckling.

He looks at Sina and he then lay back on the rattan chair and look at the sky above.

The clouds are sparse, the sun is shining bright and the day is beautiful

He sighed

”It is my way of protecting you”

But Sina could not accept this reason. There is too many blood that has been spilled.

”You want this war to happen. Brothers killing brothers, father killing sons, sons killing fathers, family rip apart, devastation all across the land. This is what war is. I don’t know how you see war. But I have seen it enough. And each time I thought that I would be numb to it. Fortunately, enough, my heart has not been numbed enough....to care. I still care. War...is terrible”

And for a moment Sina and Azief went silent. She waited of Azief to say anything. To deny. To deflect. But Azief remains silent

In that garden, there is only the sound of the wind rustling with the tall grass. Other than that...it was silent
