What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Chapter 890: My New ’Personal Assistant’

”Now, as your new personal assistant, I shall accompany you wherever you go, Tera~” She giggled, slipping her arm around mine like it was the most natural thing to do.

It was honestly quite concerning how she was able to just switch gears just like that...

More than that, I was more concerned about her bodyguards and how they would react to a stranger like me being so close to Vieretha.

Surprisingly, they didn’t seem to care and just resumed their normal duties of watching over her as she held my arm while we waded through the submerged casino.

She leaned close to me, her presence already enough to draw eyes around us but she did not seem to notice the stares at all.

”Tera~ I have to know... Where did you get a swimsuit like that? It looks absolutely perfect on you~”

Well... I couldn’t just tell her that this swimsuit was actually an eldritch entity in disguise so I just waved my hand vaguely in the air.

”I got it from another station that we visited before.”

”Ara? Another station that would sell swimsuits? Was it another Pleasure Station?”

I quickly realised that it would be weird for a space station to be selling swimsuits if there wasn’t any source of water to swim in around.

I shook my head, ”No, but the station was located above a resort planet, I’m not sure if you know the place?”

”Ah~ Could it be Talavee Station? Fufufu~ I know that place. If I’m correct, you were there for the Exo-Knight Exhibition, were you not?”

I blinked at her, ”How did you know?”

”Fufufu~ You are not a hard person to track, Tera~ Given that you have so many exploits already~”

Well... I suppose we did cause a stir when we were there...

She then focused on my swimsuit, thought the place that she chose to focus her gaze on happen to be my chest area specifically.

”Hmmm~ This looks so well made~ I would not be surprised if it’s made by a well known brand, but yet I don’t remember seeing this before. Which store did you buy this from?”

”I don’t really remember. It was just something that caught my eye and I ended up getting it for myself.”

”Fufufu~ I see, I see~ I was going to ask if you would be interested in swapping outfits? I think white might look good on you too~”

... This is the first time I heard someone wanting to switch swimsuits like they were trading sweets or something...

”Umm... Sorry but I’m quite attached to this one, I’m afraid,” I half lied.

Renata squirmed a little just from hearing that and even gave my butt an affectionate squeeze.

Ok, calm down you naughty maid.

Vieretha straightened herself, ”That’s a pity~ I think you would look good in white~ If I were to prepare another swimsuit for you, would you wear it?”

”I suppose I might?”

I figured it was better to just keep it vague instead of outright rejecting her.

”Fufufu~ In that case, I’ll be quite looking forward to it~ Now, what do you say about a little game of chance?”

I was wondering what she was talking about until she pulled me towards a table at the side where several people were gathered around.

I quickly realised it was a roulette table and there was a gathering around this table because someone was on a roll with it.

”Let it ride!!” A man wearing leopard print speedos with red tinted sunglasses cheered out with a glass of alcohol in his hand.

Beside him were a few girls who were touching him all over while giggling and his other hand was draped over one of the girl’s shoulders to grope her breast unashamedly.

Cheers went around the table as the wheel was spun again and we moved to an open spot to watch.

Everyone was focused on the ball that was rolling around the wheel that they did not notice us joining in.

I took a look at the table and it looks like there’s bets on black, even, the middle column and also the six line consisting of the numbers sixteen to twenty one.

Everyone watched as the ball bounced on the wheel and finally slid into a slot, stopping on the number twenty.

That guy just won a lot of Credits...

I’m not sure about the payout rates here but seeing that he did shout out ’let it ride’, it means he had already won once and now he just won again with an even greater odds stacked against him.

The chips that were on the table disappeared and reappeared in front of him, showing off his winnings before they disappeared into virtual currency to be added to his personal terminal.

Everyone else was still cheering for him and celebrating like they were the ones who won the money instead.

”Fufufu~ Isn’t this interesting, Tera?” Vieretha asked.

I looked at her and for some reason, her gaze was similar to someone looking at a bunch of animals playing around or something.

It was similar to how she looked when she was looking at the animals back at Yuki’s exhibition...

But as soon as I thought about it, she turned to look at me and that look disappeared, almost like what I saw was just a trick of the light and making me wonder if I actually saw what I saw.

”What do you mean?” I asked.

”It’s interesting to see how people like these would act, don’t you think?” She asked with a genuine looking smile on her lips.

The dealer then called out, ”Place your bets, place your bets~”

The speedo guy grinned and tapped on the screen in front of him, quickly making his bets through the screen.

Vieretha looked up at me, ”Why don’t you join in as well, Tera?”

There were a few people who were also joining in as well but most seemed content to just watch from the side.

Looking at the bets that had appeared on the table, it seems like he had placed several bets including on black, the first column, the top row and as well as a few corners along the side.

I was thinking if I should just bet alongside him since it looked like this guy must have pretty good luck to have won all that money just now but... Maybe that was the last of his luck and he had completely ran out of his luck after that?

Obviously that’s just me trying to reason away following his bets so I’ll just bet on my own for this.

Hmm... Let’s just throw in a random bet I guess...

Counting the two new additions and myself right now... There’s nine people on my crew so I’ll just bet on nine specifically.

As for the amount... I guess I’ll just throw in ten thousand Credits.

I wasn’t the only one who bet on a single digit so no one was surprised to see a pile of credits appear on my number, but they were certainly surprised by the amount of money that I had placed on it.

Well, I wasn’t really expecting much anyway but I just have a rather good feeling about this.

I watched as the dealer called off all bets and everyone watched as the ball bounced around inside the wheel, slowly coming to a stop inside one of the brackets.

And I swear I did not use my telekinesis nor was Amber amongst the crowd... But the ball ended up dropping onto the bracket that showed a red square with the number nine above it.

”Red nine, we have a winner!” The dealer announced, tapping on the console to cause everyone’s Credits to disappear.

The speedo guy didn’t look too amused that he just lost all the Credits he had just bet without even winning a single one of his bets.

The guy looked up to search for the winner and his eyes landed on me, his demeanour switching to one of annoyance as he clucked his teeth at me.

The girls beside him were also sending annoyed glares at me which I found weird since it wasn’t like I was the one who suggested he should bet on all of those numbers anyway... So why are all of you treating me like I was the bad guy here?

Also, it was clear that they didn’t know who Vieretha was since they showed no reaction to her.

Unlike them, however, at least a few of the onlookers recognised her and quickly decided to make themselves scarce, all of them not so subtly just picking up their things and leaving the area.

The dealer, heedless of what was going on, merely gestured towards me, ”Would you like to let it ride?”

Hmm... Should I? Ah fuck it... Let’s just do it. It’s not like I really care about winning or losing this money anyway...

I nodded, ”Let it ride.”

He immediately started another spin of the wheel and the ball was dropped into the roulette again.

Now... What are the odds that I would win again?
