What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Chapter 860: The Other CEO

The fat guy looked at the turtle, then to me, then back at the turtle, then back to me again.

He repeated that action a few more times before he raised a finger, ”I got to make a call.”

I watched as the guy walked a short distance away from us to pull out his personal terminal to start calling someone through it.

I turned back to look at the girls and all of them had the same smug look on their faces as though saying ’I told you so’.

Hey! All of you saw how the turtle acted the first time we saw it!! And all of us operated on the same assumption that the turtle wouldn’t listen to me either!! Don’t start acting like you girls already knew about this from the start!!

I turned back to the turtle who was now looking back at me attentively.

I guess I didn’t notice this earlier but... Compared to the first time I saw it, its eyes definitely looked a little clouded over but now it looked clear and energetic.

I went over to it, raising my hand to try and pat its head.

Before this, it would have undoubtedly tried to snap its mouth at me if I got close but now... It simply lowered its head and allowed me to pat it.

...

So cute.

I continued patting it until I heard the fat guy start talking behind me.

”Boss... It’s me... Yes... No, it’s here. They were not lying... Yes... It’s hard to believe it but please have a look...”

The guy then turned around to show whoever he was calling the sight of me patting the turtle.

I wasn’t really sure if they wanted to see me do this but I figured he was calling his boss to show that I could somehow command the turtle to listen to me.

It got a little awkward as the silence stretched on for a while before the guy turned away to talk to the screen again.

”Yes... I don’t understand either... Ummm... I can try.”

He turned back to me, ”Could you... Tell it to do something again?”

Err... What do you even want me to say?

I turned to look back at the turtle, ”Can you stand for me?”

The turtle pushed itself up on its feet obediently.

Good boy~ More head pats for you.

There was another pause in their conversation and it looks like the boss was giving the guy instructions since he was nodding his head along without saying anything.

Another minute passed before he finally spoke up, ”You... Smuggler... My boss wants to meet you. Get that thing onto my ship and I’ll take you there to meet my boss.”

I looked at my girls and they were giving me mixed reactions.

At this point, I’m still not a hundred percent sure if Kaito was lying to me about the client for this turtle so... I might as well just go along to see where this goes.

And if the client really was that Yuki woman, then I could also hear her side of the story and decide for myself what to do.

I nodded at the guy, ”Can my crew come along as well?”

There was a pause before he answered, ”You can bring two people along with you.”

I was honestly expecting to be rejected for that so that was a surprise.

I thought about it for a moment before pointing at Amber and Lea, indicating they would be the ones to follow me.

Amber would be there for the firepower in case we needed to fight our way out of there and Lea would be our backup and our eyes in case we needed that.

The others would remain here to protect the ship in the event someone tried to attack it, either by this client of ours or by Kaito.

Both Amber and Lea already had their equipment with them so there was no need for them to prepare as we got ready to board that guy’s ship.

As for the turtle... Now that I know it would listen to me, all I had to do was tell it to follow us and it obediently did so, the creature slowly lumbering across the cargo bay to move towards the guy’s ship.

There was just enough space for the turtle to lay down inside the ship and for us to stand near it as the guy flew off towards another part of the Pleasure Station.

While I had no problem with being near the turtle, I could see that Lea and Amber were quite nervous being near the creature and tried to stay as far as they could away from it.

Well... It’s not like I don’t understand them so I said nothing and just did my best to put myself in between the turtle and my girls to reassure them that it was fine.

The ship eventually flew into a hangar bay that did not look like it was meant for public use by where it was located, and the ship came down to land on one of the landing pads.

The boarding ramp extended downwards and the fat guy slowly ambled towards the exit while keeping as wide of a berth as he could with the turtle that was, for some reason, constantly eyeing him.

Please tell me the turtle isn’t looking at him like that because it thinks he’s a big piece of meat...

When we got off the ramp, there were a few armed guards wearing full body combat armour not dissimilar to the ones I saw in Kaito’s office.

The only difference was that the armour they were wearing was coloured purple instead of black.

They were all gathered in front of the ship waiting for us so I suspect that they were called here specifically to receive us.

The turtle followed behind us and I could see everyone visibly tense up when they saw the lumbering creature behind us.

The fat guy gestured at me, ”Wait here. Don’t make any movements. I cannot guarantee your safety if you do anything stupid.”

Lea tilted her head at him, ”Hmm... I don’t mean to point this out... But if you hadn’t realised the creature only obeys my Mistress and the only reason why it’s not walking through you guys is the fact that Mistress told it not to. Do you think it’s a good idea to kill the only person capable of keeping it in check?”

The guy had no answer for that so he opted to say nothing and leave us where we were.

The armoured guards went ahead to surround us, though they maintained their distance since it’s clear they did not want to come any closer to the turtle.

We only needed to wait for a while before the guy returned, a woman with bright teal coloured hair following behind him.

I instantly recognised her as the Yuki woman from the pictures Kaito had shown me. And no, I didn’t just recognise her because of the fact that her chest was quite literally straining against the fabric of her shirt and bouncing tantalisingly as she walked over to us.

Unlike everyone else who had their face covered, she was the only one who wasn’t shy about showing her features.

”Boss... See for yourself...” The fat man gestured towards me.

The woman walked right past the armoured guards to stand merely an arm’s length away from me, her hips tilted slightly to the side and her hand on her waist in a pose. Which I actually believe she did so unconsciously instead of something she actively decided to do.

She looked at the turtle that was standing behind me, the animal completely ignoring everyone in favour of just looking at me.

As though that confirmed something for her, she shifted her gaze to me and looked me up and down like she was sizing me up.

”Name?” She asked.

I didn’t get to answer as Amber gestured at the masks on our faces, ”What’s the point of wearing these masks if you’re going to find out our names anyway?”

I would have pointed out the fact that they probably knew who we were from scanning our ship already but I wisely kept my mouth shut.

If the woman was insulted by Amber’s response, she managed to hide it quite well.

Instead she nodded at me, ”How well can you control it?”

I looked back at the turtle who titled its head in response to me as though wondering if I had any instructions for it.

I gave it a pat on its nose before turning back, ”Well enough I suppose. What’s it to you?”

”Then I might have a job for you and it pays really well. Follow me. I’ll add a bonus on top of the price of having you smuggle this into this station for me.”

Hmm... Surely she’s not going to tell me to order the turtle to start rampaging around the station... Right?
