Primordial Villain with a Slave Harem

Chapter 1451  The First Guidance

Quinlan stayed still a moment longer with Nyxara warm in his lap and her arms tight around his neck.

Then he shifted.

”Iʼll need to make the most of my time here,” he said. ”Before I go back.”

Nyxara stiffened. Her grip tightened even further for half a breath, then loosened. She leaned back just enough to look at him, lips pushed forward in a sulk that did nothing to hide the shine in her eyes.

”I know. You would regret it if you didnʼt.” She drew a small, affectionate heart on his collarbone with one finger. ”Even if itʼs just a single trick you pick up, it will be worth it.”

He nodded.

She sighed, long and theatrical. ”If youʼre going to train, donʼt waste time with the gentle ones. Your mothers are strong fighters worthy of respect, but I fear they might lack the will to teach you what you need the most right now.”

Quinlan looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

”What I need most right now?” he repeated.

Nyxaraʼs lips curled upward smugly.

”Donʼt think I donʼt know~ I can read you like the back of my hand~”

He scoffed. ”Are you sure about that?” Quinlan was sceptical about her knowledge regarding his fighting capabilities. After all, the succubus only knew him as the man who ruthlessly bred her until the magically reinforced bed gave way beneath them, and then she entered his body. Could that truly tell her all she needed to know?

Her grin only widened in response.

”Mm...” she giggled lightly. She leaned closer and whispered, ”What you need more than anything is ruthless, scrappy, one-on-one duels fought in close range. You need to face enemies of equal or greater strength trying to end you.”

Quinlan did not answer.

”Youʼre a great mage, I know,” Nyxara went on with a purr. ”A terrifying one. You command the field, split armies apart, and drown battlefields in mana. Youʼre also a great summoner; you can call upon an army of your own, an army that is gaining power rapidly as you upgrade your soldiers. Yes, Quinlan, youʼre powerful.” She tapped his chest once. ”But what about melee warfare?”

The demon tilted her head. ”If King Alexios gets the jump on you. Or King Ragnar. Or one of the tribal beast lords. Lilith. Stormlord. Black Fang. There are many people like that left on the continent. Are you certain your head wonʼt be taken before your magic even finishes forming? Can you react in time when a blade comes for your heart, driven by a great warrior with 250 Agility stat and self-buffing spells applied? Will Synchra be able to protect you from that?”

Silence.

Quinlan stared at her with surprise clear in his eyes. He had underestimated her understanding of his personal capabilities and limits. Very badly at that.

She met his gaze with a deepening of her smug grin, reaching dangerous levels.

”But-”

”I know,” Nyxara cut in instantly, and her grin lessened, turning genuine. ”My beloved Ruin~ Donʼt take it as an insult. Your power is shocking even to me. The way you wield so much at such a level makes no sense. Youʼre a monster among monsters. Your future is so bright…”

She reached out to stroke his cheeks softly, adding with extreme affection, ”That is why my main concern is to ensure the flame doesnʼt get snuffed out before he becomes an unstoppable inferno. I will chide and scorn you for as much as I must to ensure you donʼt lose yourself to false security or unwarranted arrogance.”

She softly gave a peck on his cheeks, looking almost as if she wanted to be gentle as she gave him some harsh truths that some great men might not be able to take with a fragile ego. However, the succubus knew that her Ruin wasnʼt one such man.

Quinlan mightʼve been prone to arrogance; he mightʼve been prone to getting cocky at times. But he could take criticism when it was legit.

Thatʼs why she explained, ”You handle your saber well. Your mage class isnʼt a mage class at all, as it also reinforces your body. You trained in martial arts for months. You are not fragile, not a glass cannon mage at all.”

She smiled, gentle now. ”But you are a worse fighter than you are a mage.”

She waited.

”…Am I wrong?”

Quinlan remained silent. Then he sighed.

”It appears my slutty demon guide knows her stuff.”

Nyxara lit up. ”Hehe! Thatʼs right! So youʼd better listen!”

Ayameʼs voice cut in from the side, bright and unmistakably amused.

”I finally get it.”

She stood with her arms on her hips and chest puffed out, grin wide and sharp. ”This is why the slutty demon became your guide. With her lodged in your head, your primordial arrogance can actually be kept in check, at least somewhat.”

Serika burst out laughing first. The sound set the others off. Aurora, Lucille, Kitsara… All of them soon joined, at least smiling faintly if not more. ”So thatʼs how it is,” Seraphiel added, giggling behind her fingers. ”Imagine needing your conquered succubus to act as a permanent ʼcalm down, hotshotʼ voice so you donʼt die to a cheap shot.”

Even Kaelira smiled at that, lips curving softly. ”Stop making fun of Master!!” Blossom snapped, stepping forward and planting herself between Quinlan and the rest of them. Her tail bristled. ”He will spank bad girls very hard!! Blossom knows from first-hand experience!!”

Silence followed.

Several pairs of eyes shifted to the dogkin.

Ayame froze. Then, without thinking, her hands slid back to her butt, palms pressing defensively. Blossom wasnʼt the only one who had received a ʼbad girl correctionʼ in their bedroom.

Kaeliraʼs ears went fully red at that. She mirrored the motion a heartbeat later despite having never received such guidance from Quinlan.

Serika noticed. Her grin turned dangerous.

”Oh?” she said lightly. ”Defensive instincts are kicking in already. As expected from Miss Duelist.”

Ayame cleared her throat and dropped her hands, face carefully neutral. ”Tactical awareness, nothing more.”

Blossom puffed out her chest, clearly proud. ”Master is very firm!”

Quinlan exhaled through his nose.

”…Enough,” he pleaded and turned back toward Nyxara, doing his best to move on.

”So, if not my mothers, who would you recommend I train with?”

”First, donʼt misunderstand me. Training with your mothers is beneficial. Very much so. Even I am willing to admit that theyʼre great at their craft, even if theyʼre two obnoxiously infuriating creatures.”

”So, yes, theyʼre good teachers. Just not for addressing your most concerning weakness.”

She lifted a finger.

”For that, you want the most ruthless primordials available. Vampires or other demons are unsuitable; they will just kill you on repeat without letting you learn anything. Beastkin too, probably.” Her lips curled. ”Your best options are Hanae, Kyrissa, or Dragnar.”

A pause came before she added, ”And Malakar, of course. Though he will most certainly refuse.”

Quinlan frowned. ”Two questions. First. Why Hanae and not Zen? Vaelor seemed like a pushover to me, so I get why the female drow instead of the male one, but Zen looked composed and powerful. Am I wrong?”
