Chapter 2985 – A Place Where the Dragons Gathered

“He knows Sheng Kun……”

Yue Zhangzhi squinted his eyes. It seemed like he had to decide after careful consideration if he wanted to deal with Jiang Chen. Sheng Kun and Sheng Bing rarely communicated or dealt with other people but Jiang Chen had gottem recognition from them and even addressed him as Brother Jiang. He guessed that no one would dare stand against Jiang Chen from this moment on.

“Huang Bo is not simple at all. He looks friendly and sociable from appearance but he is a poisonous snake in reality. Most of the disciples in the Inner Palace tend to give him a wide berth so you have to be cautious. He is ranked 4th place on the Heavenly Ascension List. However, they haven’t had a battle for a thousand years.”

Sheng Bing transmitted his message to Jiang Chen.

“I got it.”

Jiang Chen answered.

“I haven’t seen you guys for ages. It seems like you still looked charming as always. Haha. We really need you in this expedition, Sheng Brothers.”

Huang Bo’s face lit up with a smile.

“Brother Huang is formidable and powerful, and there are a great number of experts gathered in the Inner Palace so I will never have a chance to steal the limelight.”

Sheng Kun shook his head lightly.

“Everyone is here.”

A deep voice echoed in their ears. There were four middle-aged men who approached them slowly, Jiang Chen found three familiar faces. Yang Xikuan and Chi Haifei were his previous instructors, and the other person was a Divine Emissary of the Profound Connection Divine who had travelled through the Nine Boundaries in the Lone Dragon County, Liancheng Yanyun. And the other person was a bald chubby man and there was a sleeping tri-colored mouse on his shoulder. It was fluffy and adorable.

“Our Third Elder is here!”

“Our Third Elder will lead the team this time. It seems like the Profound Connection Divine Palace considers this journey to be very important.”

“That’s right. Liancheng Yanyun, Yang Xikuan and Chi Haifei are the strongest instructors in the Inner Palace.”

Liancheng Yanyu was astonished when he saw Jiang Chen. Wasn’t he the new disciple whom he met once a hundred years ago? He wondered what qualified Jiang Chen for this expedition.

Yang Xukuan and Chi Haifei looked at Jiang Chen with a faint smile. Even Yang Xikuan and Chi Haifei gave Jiang Chen a friendly smile. It seemed like this kid was an influential and respectable character. Only Sheng Bing and Sheng Kun knew well that Jiang Chen was their life savior.

“Greetings, Third Elder and instructors.”

More than twenty Inner Palace disciples greeted them with great respect, but they did not bow. Some of them had reached the Hierarch Realm, so they were not inferior to the instructors in strength. There was no priority in learning, those who succeed first will be the master. Once the disciple succeeded in life, they tended to treat each other like friends and peers.

Even Jiang Chen exclaimed mentally in amazement. There were such a great deal of strong experts in the Inner Palace. Six Hierarch experts and fourteen Half-step Hierarch experts, perhaps they were capable of ruling over half of the Lone Dragon County.

“Since everybody is here, let’s set off.”

The Third Elder said smilingly, looking warm and kind like a Buddha. He was not interested in Jiang Chen and treated him like the other disciples.

“Elder Chi, where are we going for this expedition?”

Jiang Chen looked at Chi Haifei and asked.

“It is located in the Northern Cold Divine Region, which is known as the north pole. The place is called Guiyang Mountain which is a land of ice and snow. It is an extremely cold land, its average temperature is at minus hundred degrees throughout the year. There is no doubt that ordinary disciples who hadn’t reached the Hierarch Realm would die once they entered that place. In the face of these terrible natural disasters, even Hierarch experts have to be more cautious. We are looking for a Great Sovereign’s tomb this time, which is considered an extremely dangerous mission. So you guys have to be extremely careful.”

Chi Haifei said in a low voice. Obviously, he was careful and guarded about the Northern Guiyang Mountain.

“Guiyang Mountain? Do you mean the northern end of the Northern Cold Divine Region, the peak at the northernmost point? That is one of the most inaccessible and remote places.”

There was a kind of glitter in Sheng Bing’s eyes.

“The journey takes about three hundred years originally but the Third Palace Lord cast a Transmission Formation beforehand, so only ten days is needed for us to reach the place.”

Yang Xikuan said with a serious face.

“I have been deeply engrossed in this broken Great Sovereign map for thousands of years, our plan is beginning to take shape now. I heard that it is located at the top of the mountain at the northernmost point. Despite survival or failure, each of you will have a great reward after this Expedition.”

The Third Elder explained with a deep voice.

There were twenty six disciples in total, they entered the Transmission Formation and started off the journey to the north.

In the Northern Cold Divine Region, Guiyang Mountain was located at the northernmost point of the region.

The ground was frozen and snowflakes were falling swiftly. The land was covered with sheets of snow, the sky was out of sight and only countless lines of hills were visible. There were more than three thousand mountains stretching for hundreds of miles.

The falling snow was dancing up and down freely. When Jiang Chen and the others reached the Guiyang Mountain, the place was completely covered with snow and the heavy snow storms continued relentlessly. The extreme weather had reduced the visibility.

“Where are we actually staying? Is this Guiyang Mountain that we have been looking for? This is such a dreadful place.”

“Yes. I can’t see anything, except those snow mountains.”

“I think we just arrived at the wrong place.”

Most of them were doubtful and astonished, and full of disappointment at the same time. They could not see anything on the great snow mountain. Was it true that the Great Sovereign’s Tomb was buried under the snow? It would be nearly impossible for them to find it.

Not only the Inner Palace’s disciples, even Qian Renji and the rest were stunned and bewildered. There were thousands of miles of mountains which were fully covered with thick snow. It’s like looking for a needle in the ocean if they wished to find the Great Sovereign’s tomb.

“On the way to look for the dragon, it is natural to meet thousand miles of mountains and there are always countless barriers and difficulties that we have to get through. If the entrance is highly fortified, you will find the hidden treasure inside! This place is filled with the dragon’s aura. Even though the severe winter storm was blotting out the sky, it still failed to cover up the powerful aura of the dragon. If I am not mistaken, this is the place where the dragons gather.”

Third Elder said with a solemn look.

Jiang Chen could tell that too, but he did not speak out his thoughts. Even if he says so, they would be somewhat suspicious of his intentions. Thousands of snowy mountains which were in wild disorder, stretched for thousands of miles. Although this terrible place seemed like a dreadful hell, it was definitely an absolutely great place where the dragon gathered.

However, the Third Elder was aware of a part of the truth. It was true that it was a place where the dragons gathered, but it might be a place of misfortune as well. There were mountains everywhere and the land was covered with ice and snow. It was a dangerous place and a dead end as well. It was a trap that led to a dead end. Everything was closely connected, life and death would be decided in a moment. Even Jiang Chen was unable to find out the threats surrounding the place with his vast knowledge of formations.

Outwardly, it looked like a remarkable place where the dragons gathered but there might be a secret within it. Even though Jiang Chen was on a knife-edge, he was filled with uncertainty and doubt at the same time.

Most of them burst into an uproar and in a tremor of delight after they heard what the Third Elder said. In all probability, the place that the dragons gathered was very likely to be the Great Sovereign’s tomb that they had been looking for. But the exact location still remained unknown

Jiang Chen looked dignified, staring at the stretch of mountain ranges. It looked like a trap for Jiang Chen, an extraordinarily huge trap! This place might turn into a devil that devours everything.

It was merely his guess, he did not want to put himself into troubles and difficulties. He wished that this was a true Dragon-gathering place. Or else, they would need to find it blindly without a clue.

“The snow-capped mountain is facing the north sea, the view is overwhelming and invincible. This is absolutely a great place where the dragons gathered! The Great Sovereign’s tomb is here, there is no doubt about it!”

The Third Elder said in a deep voice, he could not contain his excitement and his eyes glittered with light. He had eventually found the Great Sovereign’s tomb that he had been searching for thousands of years.
