Dragon-Marked War God

Chapter 2977 – Bow Down to Fate, Otherwise, Bow Before Death

For Jiang Chen, Chen Long would’ve died if this was a battle of life and death. However, the Second Palace Lord’s words were also reasonable, this was just a competition within the palace, to gauge the ranks between disciples, not a battle of life and death. Still, was that a reason to stop a battle and continue afterwards?

Many were unsatisfied yet they dared not express it. As it was the Profound Connection Divine Palace’s Second Palace Lord who said it, nobody would dare to refute it except for Jiang Chen.

This is preposterous, how can such a thing happen? To let your opponent break through and then continue after that?!”

“Yeah. The Second Palace Lord’s decision has not convinced the masses.”

“Jiang Chen is pretty darn unlucky, why did he have to go against the Second Palace Lord? He’s pretty strong alright but once Chen Long has broken through, he will certainly not give him any chance to win.”

“This is making me anxious, I thought Jiang Chen could become the king and leader of the outer-palace, looks like he’ll have to go through another hurdle once more.”

Many felt bad for Jiang Chen, yet nothing could be done, because it was the Palace Lord’s order, not even Lin Youkang had a say in this.

Chen Long received the spark to break through the Hierarch Realm amidst the life and death situation. No matter what, Jiang Chen would not be able to deliver the final blow upon him.

The Second Palace Lord looked down upon Jiang Chen coldly with a hint of mockery in his eyes.

“Jiang Chen, are you willing? Or, you can choose the other option, that’s… forfeit!”

Despicable!

The people from the Lone Dragon County felt bad for Jiang Chen, however the Second Palace Lord was absolute. No matter how despicable it was!

Everyone could see that the Second Palace Lord wanted Jiang Chen to surrender, as Jiang Chen’s chance would be nil if he faced Chen Long who had reached the Hierarch Realm. After all, Chen Long was a monstrous prodigy.

At that moment, Jiang Chen would certainly die!

The Second Palace Lord gave Jiang Chen a choice, to either surrender or die. Nothing else.

To think there existed such a despicable person, however, he was still not powerful enough and could only accept it.

“Hahaha! The Second Palace Lord is just and unbiased, truly an example to everyone. Alright, I shall wait for Brother Chen to break through and fight on a later date.” Jiang Chen said with a fiery gaze.

This fella wanna put me in such a tough spot just because I took a longer glimpse at him? Very well then! I will make sure he’ll not get what he wants!

Jiang Chen agreed and the audience’s expression changed drastically. From their point of view, Jiang Chen was too reckless, the Second Palace Lord was obviously laying a trap, yet he still chose to walk into it regardless. Is it truly worth risking his life for the sake of being number one? Everyone looked favourably upon him yet the lord came to disrupt him, to allow Chen Long to win.

Jiang Chen took the bait and everyone thought he was sure to die. A monster like Chen Long who had reached the Hierarch Realm was not something Jiang Chen could withstand. They knew how bad Jiang Chen was feeling, the unjust, the anger, he had to face Lady Death if he would not bow down to authority.

“Good. You’re Definitely a disciple of our Profound Connection Divine Palace, having great forbearance.” The Second Palace Lord said with a pale smile.

Jiang Chen has fallen into the trap, Chen Long will certainly not allow Jiang Chen to trample him over, he will make him pay.

“Then, it’s reasonable for me to do some preparations, right?” Jiang Chen said.

“Of course, I hope the battle between you two shall be exciting and will not let us down.” The lord said.

“Alright!”

Jiang Chen squinted his eyes and waved his arm as 72 Peak Heavenly Divine Tools surrounded Chen Long.

“Trying to win with a formation? Hehe, those are child’s play for a Hierarch. Futile struggle.” The Second Palace Lord shook his head and sighed as if he had seen the result of the battle.

“This is unfair towards Jiang Chen.” Qian Renji looked at Lin Youkang, the latter shook his head, signalling her to not speak further.

Rules were there to be broken in the face of absolute strength. Now that the Second Palace Lord had given a preposterous excuse, he wanted Jiang Chen to back off. What can anyone do against it? However, Jiang Chen accepted it, if he willingly surrendered and became number two, there wouldn’t be such a problem, he was absolutely hard-headed.

72 Peak Heavenly Divine Tools were in position with the Supreme Grade Divine Origin Stones. The Little Ashura Sword Formation was ready to be activated at any second. The reason he did not summon the 32 Origin Divine Tools was because there were too many people watching. The Second Palace Lord may even snatch some for himself.

“This fella is pretty good. But does he think it can stop a Hierarch expert? That’s naive.” The Second Palace Lord sneered.

As time went on, half a month passed in a blink of an eye. At this moment, Chen Long’s aura instantly rose, he was almost at the Hierarch Realm!

“Jiang Chen is in danger. He’s too hard-headed. Now that the Second Palace Lord has stepped into this matter and is supporting Chen Long, the result could be more than Jiang Chen could bear.” Yu Chenglong said.

Jiang Chen had agreed to the Second Palace Lord’s terms.

Now, it was almost certain that Jiang Chen would lose once Chen Long broke through to the Hierarch Realm.

“You’ve yet to disappoint me.” The Palace Lord said.

In the sky, a terrifying thunder cloud formed around Chen Long, it was a sight that would scare Divine Kings.

Rumbling thunder could be heard, Chen Long’s blood coloured eyes slowly opened as his aura became stronger than before.
