The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1575: Chapter 1575: The Gaze of Strangers

In a dimly lit restaurant with violin music playing, the ambiance seems infused into both the restaurant’s decor and the dishes, with even the dish names carrying wishes of love and affection for couples.

Before she came here, the nanny never imagined there could be such a place in the world.

They sat side by side on the sofa, and when the man held her hand, she instinctively shivered a little.

Beside her ear, the man’s deep voice was gentle: ”Don’t be afraid.”

With just that one sentence, the nanny calmed down completely.

Through the dim light, she saw the man’s profile, a face with a very defined contour; he was a mixed blood with both Western and Chinese heritage, seemingly combining the advantages of both with the deep contours of the West and the full apple cheeks of the East.

After she became a real designer, her aesthetic sense had also heightened. But no matter how high her aesthetic standards rose, she couldn’t help but marvel at this man’s handsomeness.

The two met during an interview; this handsome man was her cameraman.

After the interview ended, he asked for her phone number, then in frequent contact they got to know each other, from saying good morning and good night to each other, feeling uncomfortable if missing a day, gradually getting used to each other’s presence, until she fell in love with him. She felt a bit uneasy, like she was infatuated and self-indulgent, but then the man confessed, making her feel as if all this was a blissful dream, slightly unreal, yet so desirable.

”Do you really...like me?” And not my fame and fortune?

At her age, she also longed for love, but compared to young people, she had a bit more rationality. She knew she was no longer the first choice for men looking for a mate; instead, the man was tall and handsome, where couldn’t he find someone young and beautiful?

She also worried that now that she was famous and rich, his motives for being with her might not be purely love, but something more materialistic and complex.

The man, with his high nose and deep-set eyes, looked at everyone with an affectionate gaze. ”If I didn’t like you, why would I confess, and why would I ask you out? Darling, what are you thinking about?”

Meeting the man’s affectionate eyes, seeing the clarity and purity within them, she smiled softly, ”I was overthinking.”

For money and fame, who wouldn’t he find?

Just his looks alone could attract a wealthier woman.

After finishing dinner, they walked hand in hand on the street. Occasionally, there were strange glances directed at them, mostly from young, pretty girls who scrutinized her with unfriendly, skeptical eyes.

The nanny would always feel guilty and avoid those glances.

She could roughly guess what those young girls were thinking. They must be wondering how such a handsome man could be walking hand in hand with an older woman, looking nothing like a mother and son.

They walked to a crowded pedestrian street, where the looks multiplied, some men’s eyes even carrying mockery and contempt.

She felt increasingly uncomfortable, instinctively withdrawing her hand.

The man finally noticed her discomfort, glaring sharply at those hostile eyes, then put his arm around her shoulder. ”Let’s go to a less crowded place, a secret meeting spot!”

She was a bit curious, and subconsciously nodded.

She was taken to a clock tower.

The clock tower had 24 floors, with a large clock at the top floor.

Perhaps due to a long time without repair, the hands of the clock no longer moved.

”When I was in school, I could see this clock from the classroom window, back then, it was still working.”
