The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 788: Chapter 788: Fat People are Potential Stocks

The agent exclaimed excitedly, ”This is the role! You’ve made it big!”

Li Yilong still couldn’t quite believe it, thinking the agent was playing a prank on him, probably having bought fans just to mislead him.

Li Yilong frowned, ”This is just a variety show...”

”Yes, it’s just a variety show, but you forgot, this variety show features Ji Guang and Little Taotie! Didn’t you join this show because of Ji Guang?”

Li Yilong nodded.

Actually, he and Ji Guang were trainees under the same agency. Originally, he was supposed to join a talent show alongside Ji Guang, but he fell ill due to overworking himself on music compositions overnight, missing the chance to audition with Ji Guang.

Later, Ji Guang officially debuted through that talent show, rapidly becoming popular with keywords like sunny, handsome, and healing smiles.

On the other hand, he became increasingly overweight, as he had to take a lot of hormone-containing medicines because of his illness. The company was about to give up on him when Ji Guang stepped in, arguing that he had a talent for songwriting. If he couldn’t debut due to health issues, he could write songs for the company and hoped they would keep him.

At that time, Ji Guang had become popular, and his words carried some weight in the company, which agreed to keep him.

He had thought to just remain a behind-the-scenes worker forever, getting by without starving, and that recuperating his health was most important. Those absurd dreams of becoming a star seemed irrelevant.

Then, after drifting aimlessly for a year, he learned that Ji Guang’s contract with the company was about to expire. He wanted to go and send Ji Guang off, and if nothing unexpected happened, it might be the last time he saw Ji Guang. After all, Ji Guang was becoming more popular, and a lagging friend would drift further away, eventually disappearing and becoming just another person in the crowd.

Li Yilong always felt that if life were a series of books, then Ji Guang would be the male protagonist, and he would just be a passerby, and once the male protagonist left the company, the passerby would never appear again.

Ji Guang pulled out a photo, taken when they first entered the company— a photo of him and Ji Guang.

Li Yilong barely recognized himself in the picture, where he looked cold yet handsome, 180 cm tall, weighing 140 kg.

At that moment, he was a huge man, standing 180 cm tall but weighing 300 kg.

Looking at the photo and then at his obese self, he felt deeply ashamed.

Ji Guang, however, said to him, ”The spotlight on stage will never shine on just one person; it shines on the young, the old, those with good looks, and those whose talents build up slowly. It shines on the overweight, and even on those whose spirits are unbroken by physical disabilities...”

Late Ji Guang’s agent arrived, and he had to leave for his flight, so he couldn’t continue speaking.

But his words struck Li Yilong like a heartbeat, reinvigorating his once-stilled heart with an ”electric shock” making it beat wildly again!

Conveniently, the company had a batch of trainees also participating in a talent show. In reality, many participants in such talent shows were trainees who had been trained by various companies for years. These so-called open auditions were merely set up to feature ordinary mortals to highlight their own trainees.

After all, the red flowers always need green leaves to stand out.

He met with the upper management of the company and asked to join the competition. The company obviously disagreed, considering him like a round ball.

After some thought, he stated that he didn’t need to win or even be in the top fifty; he just wanted to experience competing, especially since he had been a trainee before and it would be a pity not to participate in at least one talent show.

He said he just wanted to be a green leaf that complements others.

The company reluctantly agreed.
