The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 633: Chapter 633: Tears of Cleaning Pig Offal

”What’s wrong, don’t you eat intestines?” the Calligraphy Teacher said with a hint of regret, ”They’re very fragrant!” Speaking, his chopsticks swirled and placed some into his own bowl, and he began to eat.

Little Taotie: ”...”

She stealthily peeked at the Calligraphy Teacher, seeing his face full of enjoyment, she felt a little tempted.

But recalling the appearance of the intestines and their smell...

Little Taotie lowered her eyelids.

In the mountains, her mother was very fond of eating pork offal, which in the village was known as pig intestines and was very cheap. Every time they bought a lot of pork to make smoked meat, the vendor would also give them pig offal.

Pig offal was particularly difficult to clean, and for the person cleaning it, it was definitely hard to accept a dish made from it.

Every time after cleaning the pig offal, when it was time to eat, she would not go for that dish. However, she felt that even if she reached out with her chopsticks, her mother’s chopsticks would knock them away, as that dish was her mother and twin sister’s favorite, and they would never allow her to eat it.

”Really won’t try it? It’s very fragrant!” the Calligraphy Teacher was still highly recommending it, ”This is one of my favorite dishes among the top ten Shandong cuisines.”

Little Taotie counted on her fingers, in a quiet voice, ”I’m used to washing pig offal, not used to eating it.”

The Calligraphy Teacher’s hand paused, his old eyes filled with disbelief, ”Wash pig offal? You know how to wash it?”

He wondered if his age was catching up with him, hearing it wrong.

Even he, a seasoned chef, was unwilling to clean it. How could such a little one know how to wash pig intestines?

Little Taotie straightened her chest, ”Of course I know how to wash them!”

”You start by making a cut on the pig offal to turn the inner lining out, then use a small knife to scrape off the residue on the inner wall, sprinkle some flour, and rub it vigorously with your hands. Once it’s clean, turn the intestines inside out, run water through multiple times, and finally sprinkle salt inside and out, and rub it again. After half an hour, once the salt is washed off, it’s ready!”

Every time she got to the ’rub it vigorously’, her little hands would subconsciously make the rubbing motions, with her milky voice trailing off at the end, very adorable.

The more adorable and well-behaved she appeared, the more heartbreaking it felt.

The Calligraphy Teacher had some understanding of Little Taotie’s past. But that was only superficial, known through text. Hearing the young girl verbalize it now, he felt unbearably sad inside.

All he knew was that the family was illegal, unable to have children so they bought a child to bring home, but not long after, they managed to have children of their own, so they did not treat Little Taotie well.

But he never pondered deeply how exactly they treated her poorly.

In his mind, an image appeared of the dead of winter, a tiny Little Bean standing in front of a moldy barrel, her little hands reaching into the icy water. Those small hands, likely already riddled with chilblains from the cold, rubbing the salt into them would be nothing short of torture.

The Calligraphy Teacher’s nose tingled, his aging heart was soft, and at this moment, he could not hold back the tears any longer.

”Teacher, why are you crying?” Little Taotie rushed over anxiously, pulling out a clean handkerchief to wipe his tears, ”Teacher, don’t cry, don’t cry...”

Listening to the young girl’s clumsy attempts to comfort him, akin to how one might soothe a child, the Calligraphy Teacher’s sorrow deepened, and his tears flowed even more fiercely!

As Little Taotie saw him crying more intensely, she also began to panic.

She didn’t know how to comfort the Calligraphy Teacher and ended up crying herself, ”Wuu, Teacher, please don’t cry...”

Calligraphy Teacher: ”Wuu, I can’t help it!”

Hua Jinyan: ”...”

He quietly watched the old and the young cry their hearts out, wisely choosing to remain silent. In such moments, any attempt to console would only make them cry even more fiercely, as he observed from Little Taotie’s attempt to comfort her teacher, which only made the old man cry even harder.

Time passed slowly, and Hua Jinyan felt it was about time. They were no longer crying but were still enveloped in inexplicable sadness, unable to break free.

Looking at the dishes on the table, Hua Jinyan remarked, ”The dishes are getting cold.”

Little Taotie’s little ears twitched, her freshly tear-washed eyes sparkling like clean, clear deer eyes. Her milky voice a bit hoarse, ”Teacher, I’m really hungry...”

Only then did the Calligraphy Teacher let go of the child, wiping off the tears on his own face, as if the one who had just turned into a tearful mess wasn’t him. He returned to being that stern, old-fashioned Calligraphy Teacher.

The Calligraphy Teacher called over his staff, ”It’s all cooled down, heat it up again.” He ordered in a low voice, ”Take off the Nine Turns Intestines, and in the future, do not serve this dish in the restaurant anymore.”
