The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 554: Chapter 554: We are being watched

Shen Cang’s office was large with a desk in the center—the three-meter-wide surface was massive, and it was covered with many documents. To the south there was a balcony, overlooking a stretch of greenery.

”Sit,” Shen Cang gestured towards the sofa.

Hua Jinyan sat down on the sofa and remained silent.

Shen Cang wanted to see how patient this young man was, so he buried his head in his own work.

This kid was too quiet, so quiet that it took Shen Cang over an hour to finish his work and remember that there was someone else there.

For a seven-year-old child to sit still for so long was indeed extraordinary.

Shen Cang capped his pen, stood up, walked over to the sofa and sat down next to him before he finally asked, ”What brings you here?”

Hua Jinyan said expressionlessly, ”Little Taotie and I have been targeted.”

Shen Cang looked startled, ”How did you find out?”

Hua Jinyan looked down, ”On Monday after school, I felt someone watching me. I am very sensitive to malicious gazes.”

”On Tuesday, I found a Ghost, threatened him, and had him stay close to me to observe the surroundings.”

”After school, that malicious gaze appeared again. The Ghost located that gaze and told me it came from the art classroom.”

”Over the next few days, I continuously gathered many Ghosts to watch the art classroom and pinpointed the target: the art teacher.”

Shen Cang frowned, ”Perhaps it was just the teacher’s excessive concern for a student that made her stare at you.”

Hua Jinyan unzipped his backpack and pulled out a piece of torn paper.

He passed the paper to Shen Cang.

”This is from Little Taotie’s weekly journal, torn out from the art teacher’s drawer. Our weekly journals should not turn up in her possession.”

Shen Cang took the matter seriously and spread out the paper.

—Today is Sunday...

The areas darkened by pencil on this paper revealed the parts that had been erased.

Among them, two passages were circled in red watercolor pen.

—The team leader took me to the Haunted House. There were many Ghosts and bats inside. I can’t remember clearly; I think I was too tired and fell asleep. When I woke up, the team leader was carrying me.

—The team leader took me to the Ancient Castle.

Hua Jinyan explained, ”The erased contents, I asked Little Taotie, and she said she didn’t erase them. Then I asked Little Taotie’s elder brother, who was afraid she might disclose information about the Special Department, so he erased them. The art teacher darkened the erased areas with pencil to make the words visible and then circled these two key sentences in red watercolor pen, obviously investigating the matter about the Ancient Castle.”

Shen Cang folded the paper, his expression serious, ”I will investigate this art teacher, and you and Little Taotie...”

Shen Cang hesitated for a moment but then said, ”Prepare to transfer schools.”

Hua Jinyan had anticipated this outcome. Thinking of how well Little Taotie got along with her classmates, she would definitely feel reluctant. He slightly frowned, ”Let’s delay the transfer a bit until you’ve investigated this person.”

”Not transferring schools will expose you to unknown dangers.”

”Can transferring schools avoid danger? Since we are already targeted, escaping to an unfamiliar school is no better than staying at the current one.”

Shen Cang, feeling helpless, said, ”I will arrange for someone to protect you.”

”We have bodyguards,” Hua Jinyan announced, naming his and Little Taotie’s bodyguards.

Shen Cang fell silent.

Well, children of wealthy families could even get such excellent ex-soldiers as bodyguards; his own arrangements might not necessarily be better.

”How do you make those beings listen to you and help you?”

Hua Jinyan pointed to the Rainbow Relic, ”By threatening.”

Shen Cang frowned, ”They could simply escape and not appear before you, making them hard to threaten.”

Hua Jinyan looked up at him, his eyes deep, ”When I remove the Rainbow Relic, they can’t control themselves and will appear before me, baring their teeth and claws.”

Understood! Using oneself as bait to lure out the Ghosts, and then using the Rainbow Relic to threaten them was indeed a good method, enough to keep the Spiritual Bodies terrified.

...

The black car stopped at an abandoned hospital. Even before entering, they could already feel the gusts of cold wind.

Mo Haihao tightened his clothes and looked at the bright-eyed Little Taotie, asking, ”Aren’t you scared?”
