Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 2491: It’s Hunting Season

Ling Tian sat in his office with a deep frown.

He balled his fists so tight, his knuckles turned white and the veins looked like they could pop any given moment. He looked at his attendant who stood right next to him and asked.

”How much do I pay you?”

”Sir?”

”Remind me to cut your salary off for this month.”

The attendant gulped nervously and looked at the visitors accusingly. There are around a dozen of them. All of them from the families of the instructors Sam abducted recently.

”Elder Ling. You can chit chat with your assistant later. Please see to our needs.”

One of the members who sat behind the crowd attracted Ling Tian’s attention.

Ling Tian looked at him. His frown deepening even more. His lips were pursed, almost like he was desperately trying to suppress the urge to say something.

The old man who sat right in front of Ling Tian understood the meaning behind it and said.

”I apologize for the youngster’s outburst, Elder Ling. I am sorry that we had to impose on you like this. But I pray that you let go of my grandson.

Even if it is proven that he was behind Sam’s assassination attempt, Sam is still alive and well. So there is no need for such an extreme measure.

We are willing to pay the ransom.”

”They are not in my control.

This is not some kind of academy war. It is an individual grudge and Sam’s actions were purely his own individual choice.

I cannot negotiate here on his behalf.”

”Then please negotiate on our behalf. Broker a peace deal between us. We are willing to a pay price to the Gambler academy.”

”That won’t work as well.

If it does, I would have negotiated a peace deal for myself. After all, the first target on the list was our very own elder.

I am sorry folks. You better leave before you waste any more time. I am not someone that could help you.”

The old man nodded in understanding and stood up.

”I apologize, Elder Ling.”

”What for?”

”For what we are about to do. We don’t have the resources to find Sam. But we do have resources to act on something that’s within the reach.

All the forces of my family are going to join the conquest and we are targeting the Gambler academy students and instructors.

We are not trying to gain or conquer. Our only agenda is to hinder your growth. And you have Sam to blame for that. If you want it to stop, all you have to do is bring Sam to us.

Maybe you can use this incident to test that kid’s loyalty.

Will he come out and surrender to save your academy? And if it helps, I can promise you on my personal honor to ensure his safety. He just needs to give our people back.

Think over it.”

He turned around and was about to leave. Ling Tian leaned into his chain and a small smile escaped.

”You are making a mistake.”

The old man who was about to leave turned around.

”By picking a fight with Gambler academy?”

”No, by escalating the issue with Sam.

You would have a better shot at convincing the academies to give up the rest of the people to Sam, instead of trying to bring him out like this.”

”It seems like the rumors I heard were true. Elder Ling admires this kid too much and gives him too much credit.

All he has is the support of some ex-students of the academies. His man power and fire power are limited. He is hardly a threat. You are exaggerating.”

”I won’t defend myself. Because I am pretty sure, you will make the defense for me real soon.”

The group left and quickly their agenda was announced and as if someone was fanning the flames, the news reached everyone that it should reach.

The Olympian academies of course were extremely happy about the situation.

Meanwhile, Sam was holed up in the hub thinking of finding new torture techniques to deal with the captives, also got the news.

The groups that came from different families were obviously pretty open about it. So, within a few hours, he also gave an announcement. The holographic projections appeared everywhere.

”Hello everyone.

I know, I am a bit early with the schedule, but I heard some guests arrived and they insist on getting gifts from me.

I mean, they are the one’s visiting me. Not only did they not bring anything, they re also trying take my toys away?

How rude of them?

So, I am representing the academy realm to give them some education. To ensure they will learn some manners.

And for that reason, I had a conversation with my old friend Joker and he agreed with my proposal. From this moment on, I am putting a bounty on the members of Northern Shadow clan, Beeru clan and Odian clan.

All you need to do is bring the head of the clan member and submit it at any of the hub branches and you will gain coins.

If it’s a mortal plane cultivator, you can get ten thousand coins. An Astral plane cultivator is worth thirty thousand coins and a Divine plane initiation cultivator is worth a hundred thousand, pre-transcendence, two hundred thousand, transcendence five hundred thousand and finally the consummate cultivator is worth a million coins.

Of course, you might be thinking these coins are not worth much because the exchange centers are back in operation.

But... you can actually keep these coins as credit in the hub. The hubs are going to open up a new trading channel of their own, which will mostly comprise of the hub’s core technologies. From the formation techniques, machine designs, puppet designs, design principles, energy techniques... if you have enough coins you can redeem everything in the list.

And this offer ends the moment, the members of the clans that I mentioned are dead.

So, to my guests, I say... happy hunting. I hope you survive.”
