Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 2378: Weapon spirit in the making

Sam disconnected himself as well as the weapon spirits.

He sent the weapons back into the storage and took out some specters. He fed one of the specters into the cylinder. The faces didnʼt show the same excited reaction as they did with the weapon spirit. However, they did show some reaction.

Sam connected himself once again and observed as the specter being forcefully devoured by the faces. All these faces are representatives of the spirits within and these spirits are now devouring the specter as if it is nothing more than a snack.

However, the urges and the actions of these spirits is completely different compared to how they acted when he made the weapon spirits go into contact with them.

He went into a deep thought and decided to go with another experiment. He took out a weapon and another specter. Then with his spell made enchanted the weapon with the specter and made that specter a spirit.

Then he connected himself with the spirit and embedded some sword arts. Of course, this is not enough. He needs some the spirit properly attached itself to the weapon and developed as the true weapon spirit.

For that to happen, he needs to use the weapon properly in battle.

The next morning, when he arrived at the meeting and started negotiating, he led the whole conversation to the deadlock.

”Alright, letʼs make a wager.” Sam proposed.

”Okay, what is it?”

”A battle. Letʼs participate in a swordsmanship battle. You can bring ten swordsman. They can even be of third grade, but they need to suppress their cultivation to late stage of Divine plane initiation. Which means, they should suppress their cultivation to the second grade.

It would be a battle of swordsmanship and no other tricks or elements can be used.

If I can win seven of the ten fights, then I will get what I want, if not, I will take what you give me. You okay with that?”

The elderʼs eyes beamed with a glint. He immediately agreed.

”I agree, but you know that swords donʼt have eyes and things can get out of hand. What if you died in the battle?”

”I am fine with that. I will accept the consequences. However, the same can be applied to your candidates. So, if they died I wouldnʼt be held accountable for their deaths.”

”Donʼt worry, with their superior cultivation they wonʼt die and of course, if they break their suppression they will lose automatically.”

”I understand that. But if they break their suppression and attack me, what do you propose we do about it?”

”You tell me.”

”I will increase the properties that I take from you. You can get compensated from the candidate directly if you want. But you will be the one compensating me.”

The elder thought for a moment and said.

”Alright, Deal.

When do we schedule the fight?”

”In one hour. We will meet in the Set academy. I am sure elder Trike will be more than happy to give me the arena.”

”Alright. I will meet you there.” The elder has left immediately.

Ten minutes later.

”No. Are you out of your mind?” Trike is fuming as he looked at Sam. He didnʼt even know what to say apart from this straight rejection.

”Donʼt worry about it elder Trike. I know what I am doing and this is important for me. I cannot stay inactive for such a long time and who knows how long the project will take? I cannot just stay dormant in this region.

Or I will raise a million suspicions. I am sure you noticed that there is some change in the movements within the city. Several dormant spies are now active and are very busy trying to get info from me.

Even though the meetings are there, it is still out of my character for me to not create an ruckus in this place. It is not my style to just negotiate some deals and go back without an incident. This will serve my purpose greatly and keep the cover intact.”

Trike gritted his teeth, but he didnʼt have a proper rebuttal for that. What Sam said stands correct.

It is indeed out of Samʼs character to not cause an incident. After some thought he came to a compromise.

”Alright, I agree. But on the condition that I will be present during the fights. I am in charge of your safety. If things go south, I will directly involve myself. I donʼt give a shit about the deals you made with them.

You being alive is way too important for me right now.

And if you are so eager to court death, I can kill you myself after the project is over.”

”As you wish.

And please donʼt take that last line so seriously. I will never try to kill myself. I might look like I might take my life lightly, but I have way too many things to do, before I go.”

Within an hour, the elder has brough the ten swordsmen, while Sam arrived along with Trike. Surprisingly not a single swordsman is of second grade. Well, Sam couldnʼt even say that it is that surprising. He kind of expected it.

All of them are third grade students. Trike himself oversaw that they suppressed their cultivation properly and made them wear the suppression bracelets. It is much harder to break the suppression with that bracelet on.

Then started the fights.

The first one is a woman.

”I have seen you in the tournament. I havenʼt seen you use a sword that much though. You got balls proposing this challenge.”

Sam took out a sword without answering. It looked quite normal. There is no fancy design. No signature make or specialty to it. It is just a regular double edged, straight sword.

”Alright. Letʼs go. I want to see how much of a swordsman you are.”

The woman lunged forward and started with a stab. Sam blocked the sword smoothly and the exchange went on. He didnʼt move much. His aura is changing with every movement as he used that sword though.

His feet are stationary while his upper body is moving at an incredible pace. His breath became sharper and his sword aura is raging. The sword in his hand soon started resonating

with his aura.

At the same time, when his sword met with the sword of the opponent, the opponentʼs sword aura is also responding in kind. The woman felt like she is in a new territory which she is also oddly familiar with.

She herself felt like a sword and the more she clashed with Sam, the more she felt closer to her sword. As if she and her sword are becoming one.

She knew this state. This is what she wanted to achieve always in her sword training sessions. She often reached it, but it was always hard to hold this state for long.

Now, however this battle turned out to be the training session she needed. But the only problem is she felt like a student in front of Samʼs swordsmanship.

The more she observed the more she realized that she fell short. Samʼs swordsmanship is very close to the basics. There are no fancy moves, no over the top swings. He stuck with the basics, but every move was made with so much completeness.

And each move is connected with the next one, creating a clean and clear flow.

This feeling made her feel inferior and to cover up that inferiority she started channeling

more and more strength. She stopped with the probing moves and went with full fledged

sword attacks.

Sam also responded in kind. However, it felt more like display of a sword style rather than pre-configured sword attacks.

He is still making the same stabs and slashes, but they are just amplified in scale. His swordsmanship is like a gentle stream. It is so refined and elegant, but when amplified, it was like a huge current of river. Still refined, still precise, still flowing, but a lot more lethal and

powerful.

And just like that she lost in his hands.

Her sword didnʼt budge anymore to make a move against him in that state. Sam closed his

eyes after the first battle and kept his state intact.

The second opponent stepped up and the same type of battle continued. Trikeʼs expectations were crashed. He expected some kind of ass-whopping for Sam, but instead it became a display of swordsmanship. It almost felt like Sam is showing off. Even the opponents that lost in his hands didnʼt show much hostility towards him.

Because in that brief exchange, they felt like their sword sense has benefited. So, even that

defeat didnʼt feel so humiliating. Each battle took a good enough time, but not too long. Sam spent a few hours there on the stage and won all ten battles.

He finally came out of that state and had a huge grin on his face. His sword and its spirit is

ready.
