Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 2153  Reveal

The formationʼs first visible part is the large translucent dome. Even the Divine Plane Consummate cultivators who are watching this, could only see that blurry image of what is happening inside.

Their divine sense are not penetrating it. To be more precise, it is penetrating but even those sense are only detected some blurry image.

The second visible part is the connection between the dome and the wall.

The laser turrets shot the beams into the formation and the beams spread over the dome like an intricate spider web. At the junctions of the spider web, there is a concentration of light mass. They didnʼt understand the purpose or the function of the light mass, but they had a very ominous feeling.

As for the shadows, they could see a lot more.

The pillars that grew out of the ground are glowing with runes so complex and intricate that they would make a grown manʼs brain short circuit. Light beams shot out from the top of those pillars and joined the formation dome.

The next moment, the shadows couldnʼt see anything but bright white light.

Even the people that could see the blurry outline from the outside, now lost that.

Icarus who was looking at the screen with Samʼs friends lost it as well. ”What is happening? Did the screen go blank?”

That is what it looked like. All he could see blank white. ”Nope. It is a defense technique created by Sam. I didnʼt expect him to install this in the Hub.”

Philip said as he walked to the screen and adjusted some settings. The bright light cleared up in the screen. As if the whole white light was being filtered from only their vision.

They could see the Shadow cavalry once again. And at this moment, the black masses are squirming on the spot.

Muffled screams and screeches are being heard. But there is no attack happening. At least not something Icarus could see.

”What is happening exactly?”

He asked with puzzled gaze. He squinted his eyes as he watched at the screen as if that would help find any missing details.

The rest of the people in the room chuckled.

”Donʼt bother. You cannot see the attack. The bright light you have seen before is the actual attack.” Philip explained. In the people present only he could understand some of the technical details of Samʼs mechanisms.

Sirona might be better at explaining it, but she is not here right now.

”The light is the attack?”

”Yeah, this is a defensive formation created by Sam a long time ago. And for the longest time, it was mostly just a theoretical blueprint fermenting in our base back home.

He didnʼt want to use it.

It is created by merging the soul necromancy and the light element together. The bright light you have seen is not exactly light itself, rather souls merged with light element. They became one with light and they spread out occupying the physical space there.

The shadow cavalry or whatever they are called are feeling the burn of pure light elemental energy enveloping them from all around.

If just the small patch created by the turret explosion hurt them, what do you think is happening with this?”

Icarus opened his mouth wide and looked at the screen. His mind has blanked when Philip explained the merging of light and soul necromancy.

Those are literally two opposite forms of usage of spiritual energy. They thrive on consuming and destroying each other.

But Sam combined them both?

”I can understand your surprise. But do you know what the best part is? The first victim of the formation is Sam himself. And he had to work a lot to get out of this. I am wondering what kind of changes he has made to overcome the weaknesses he found.”

Philip said and at that moment, the light masses on the outer dome of the formation started morphing. Only the people inside the hub could see what was happening there.

The light mass took the shape of a small cannon. Light means were shot out of those spots all aimed at the shadow cavalry.

*SCREEEECH* *SCREECH* *SCREECH*

The screams of agony.

The black masses are squirming like they are subjected utmost torture.

Icarus who is connected to Hub could feel the energy in each and every one of the lasers that are being shot. Their energy level is ten times stronger than the ones shot by the laser turrets.

He could sense that even he would have to take a step back from those attacks if he got shot by one. Defense would be hard. However, if it is continuous attack… he doesnʼt know what to do against it unless he goes all out without holding back.

With a single attack, he should just try to destroy the whole formation and from the looks of it, he could definitely do it. The formation is definitely of highest quality in terms of technique and the technology, but the energy level of is achieved by just stacking the lower level formation.

Sam with his current strength cannot weave formations that could cross so many levels.

Of course, just because Icarus could do it doesnʼt mean the shadow cavalry could do the same as well.

The light energy is extremely potent against them. So, they have to take even stricter measures. After around fifteen minutes, they did exactly that.

The squirming of black masses has been reduced. All of a sudden, black mist started expanding from those masses and their unrecognizable figures started showing some tangible shapes.

As the black mist expanded, it started devouring the light around it. *HISS*

The sound similar to the water hitting a hot surface once again was heard all over.

The black mist devoured the light and started converting the surrounding space into a space of darkness.

In that white space the black spots are way too contrasting and eyecatching.

Philip changed the set up back to the original to get a better idea of what is happening.

”Those guys are devouring the light elemental energy of the formation. They are devouring that along with the source, but it doesnʼt seem like they are consuming it.”

They started analyzing it.

Night Ghost looked at it more keenly. Among them, he and Tamas have a better idea of necromancy, souls, shadows. They even light elemental energy because they are always trying to counter the light element which is potent against their own attacks.

”The black mist… that is whatʼs giving them that intangible shape and form. It seems like an inherent energy or a technique. Like the bloodline technique or an organ of a beast through which they can attack.

The black mist is not devouring rather, it is freezing and enveloping it in reverse. That means, once their hold is weakened, they would be open targets for the light energy and the lasers once again.” Night Ghost explained.

Tamas also nodded and agreed with it.

The rest of the room showed an expression of understanding.

Icarus is dumbfounded.

Who would come up with such weird ideas? It almost sounds dumb (A/N: I know that readers are thinking the same)

Their attention was soon grabbed by the shadow cavalry. The black space is spreading and their forms are more and more tangible and recognizable.

The lasers are still being shot, but the cavalry is fighting back. The sword rays are flying up and the lasers are being intercepted.

In about fifteen minutes, they finally saw something that not a lot of people in that world witnessed by that time.

The true form of the shadow cavalry and they understood why they are called the Cavalry.

But they also felt that if the word cavalry accurately describes this troop. Because behind that darkness, what they saw were centaurs. A group of dozens of centaurs. They are unlike the centaurs that Sam interacted with previously in that elf word.

These centaurs had black skin. Not even proper black, it is the blackness of hell, similar to the one Sam and the players witnessed back in the hell.

They oozed black vapors that emitted ominous aura. It is the aura of death and torture combined. Their eyes are of extreme red. The one that is eerily close to the red of the blood.

Their canines are a lot longer than they are supposed to be and they all carried great swords in their hands. While Icarus is stuck in awe at the sight, the rest of the team are in a heated debate. Whether a troop of centaurs could be called a cavalry or not.

After all, a cavalry is a troop of warriors mounted on horses and in that world, maybe a troop of warriors mounted on beasts.

But the centaurs are not exactly mounted on anything. It is their natural form to be born with four legs and the upper body of a human.

So, can they be considered a cavalry?
