Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

In the courtyard, a few people were cleaning. After polishing the copper stove until it gleamed, they replaced the old coals with new ones, slowly warming up the chill of the winter.

Actually, she really liked this temperature. The flower hall surrounding the courtyard and the dining room downstairs remained open, with copper fire bowls everywhere making it warm and cozy without being dry. Fifth Young Master was a man who knew how to enjoy life and was very particular about it.

The housekeeper guessed correctly. Thankfully, he had everyone start cleaning earlier today and also made the kitchen prepare breakfast in advance.

As expected, Fifth Young Master got up earlier today. Just when there was a slight sound from his room, the housekeeper had already gently knocked on the door and went in to prepare warm water for him to wash up.

Cecilia Wilson sighed, staying at the Foster Family felt like being in ancient times. The hierarchy between master and servants was clear, and all the servants were so cautious as if a sneeze from Fifth Young Master would collapse the sky.

”Is this really something that happened?” Charlotte Miller asked, half-curled up, as Atlas Hallow was stroking her back and telling her the story of Fifth Young Master.

Charlotte Miller found it a bit like a fairy tale. How could this Fifth Young Master be so peculiar that not even a single female servant was allowed in the house, and living such a meticulous lifestyle? Even a prince wouldn’t need to be like this, would they?

”Of course, why would I lie to you?” Atlas replied. Today, he came back early, so when Charlotte casually asked him why he was back so soon, he started telling her about Fifth Young Master, which piqued Charlotte’s curiosity immensely.

”It’s not that I don’t believe you, it’s just my expression of amazement. I thought your lifestyle was already quite meticulous, but compared to this Fifth Young Master, it’s like child’s play.” Charlotte clucked her tongue, intrigued by such a fascinating person. She’d like to see him if the chance arose, but since he doesn’t meet with women, it seems unlikely.

”Actually, whether a person lives meticulously or not isn’t entirely their own doing. The reason he’s called Fifth Young Master is because his mother previously had four children who couldn’t be born successfully. They thought they’d never have children, but then Fifth Young Master arrived. Back then, he almost couldn’t make it as well. His mother had to stay bedridden out of fear, not daring to even move, and when he was born, he was frail and sickly. It’s said that his mother built him a sterile chamber when he was a baby, and he stayed in there for a long time before coming out,” Atlas explained calmly, satisfying Charlotte’s curiosity, as she was likely rather bored and treated it as listening to a story.

”And then? What about his dad?” Charlotte asked, taking a bite of an apple and urging Atlas to continue.

”The Foster Family’s business has some shady dealings. When Fifth Young Master was around sixteen, his father was kidnapped by a formidable rival. Fifth Young Master went to make the trade alone, and no one knows what happened, but he dealt with many people,” Atlas didn’t want to delve into the gory details, as it wasn’t suitable while Charlotte was expecting. Seeing her eager expression, he quickly continued, ”He saved his father, but afterward, his health deteriorated, and he passed away a little over a year later.”

Actually, no one truly knows what Fifth Young Master is like. People outside always say he’s not in good health. When the Foster Family’s mortal enemy demanded Fifth Young Master go alone for the trade, they intended to end him, but he managed to take out five people on his own, and with such brutal methods that even Atlas found it hard to believe he could be so ruthless.

”Later, this incident also caused his mother significant distress. After reaching adulthood, Fifth Young Master moved out to live alone but promised his mother he wouldn’t get involved in any trouble again. Now, his business has turned much cleaner, but he still maintains some connections and channels,” Atlas finished the tale, then took the apple, which Charlotte had nibbled clean, from her hands and tossed it into the trash can. He then took her hand and wiped her fingers with a wet wipe, smiling as he said, ”Being so interested in another man in front of me, isn’t that a bit inappropriate?”

”What’s wrong with that? He’s not interested in women, anyway.” Charlotte seemed to indicate with a helpless expression that she was merely curious about his experiences and not interested in the man himself. How could she be blamed for this? It’s simply beyond words.

”Everyone changes, and so does Fifth Young Master. Recently, he’s been quite interested in a woman,” Atlas said, pinching Charlotte’s cheek gently before standing up. Tonight, the housekeeper was given the night off because Charlotte mentioned wanting to dine out, and it was about time to head out.
