Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

Charlotte was startled by his words at that moment, feeling utterly weak, with only her heart pounding wildly.

Because of his words, even the delicious Italian pasta in her mouth seemed to lose its taste, like chewing wax.

This kind of Atlas Hallow wasn’t joking at all; he was being serious.

Since he returned, Charlotte hadn’t noticed that he was angry. But now, being so close, she saw the storm rising in his eyes, like layers of clouds rolling over the distant sea, seemingly ready to drag people into the depths of the ocean, never to resurface...

Charlotte put down the plate of Italian pasta and explained, ”Don’t be angry. I didn’t intentionally call Ethan over. Actually, he called about some incorrect data in the files when I accidentally bumped into the crystal vase and it broke on my foot. He came over right away when he heard over the phone. I assumed you had something important to do today, so I didn’t dare to call you. If you don’t mind that I’m prone to causing trouble, Mr. Hallow, you’ll have to put up with it in the future.”

This time, he was no longer angry about her being with Ethan Baird, because he was sure their relationship would never develop into anything else. Atlas Hallow was deeply upset that she was injured, yet he wasn’t the one by her side.

What bothered him was that Charlotte called Ethan immediately, instead of thinking of him when she was in danger.

”You’re my woman; whatever trouble you cause, I should handle it, right?” Atlas attentively wiped the tomato sauce off her lips with his finger.

”After being in the hospital, you should first take a shower.” Because they were so close, Atlas could smell a faint hint of disinfectant from the hospital on her, though it was very subtle, maybe it was actually the medication on her leg.

How could she shower like this?

”Of course, I’ll bathe you.” Atlas, as if he had the Mind Reading Technique, said this while carrying Charlotte into the bathroom.

He placed Charlotte next to the bathtub, then turned on the tap. Warm water began flowing out, and Charlotte looked down, feeling a bit embarrassed.

She shivered slightly and stared at Atlas dazedly.

With her leg injured now, would he have any other thoughts?

Through the mist, Charlotte was suddenly at a loss for words, staring at Atlas, unsure of how to tell him that she was pregnant.

Atlas lifted her injured leg and placed a folded soft towel on the edge of the bathtub, resting her leg outside because of the medication on her ankle, presumably she couldn’t soak for long.

As Charlotte finished speaking, Atlas’s hands, which had been kneading her, became incredibly gentle: ”I wanted to tell you as soon as you returned, but don’t blame me; I was really hungry earlier, only focusing on eating.”

Charlotte thought this was a lovely lie, laying all the blame on being hungry. After all, she wasn’t the only one who was hungry; little Hallow would be hungry too, that was the truth.

She was carrying his child?

Atlas’s insatiable visage melted into a smile, and that smile spread, transforming his deep, ink-black eyes into dazzling fireworks, filling the air with joy.

Damn, pregnant women shouldn’t bathe in water so hot.

Atlas quickly stood up and, bending over, lifted Charlotte from the bathtub. ”Are you feeling dizzy?”

Her face was fiercely red, it truly was due to the water being too hot.

”No.” Charlotte shook her head, allowing him to carry her out of the bathroom, laying her into the soft white sheets.

”You always wanted a child, didn’t you? Aren’t you happy?” Charlotte carefully observed Atlas’s face, cautiously asking.

She had always found Atlas’s desire for a child puzzling; did he not like children but felt obliged to carry on the family line?

She had seen several inheritance cases that required the birth of heirs to gain more shares. Was such melodrama happening to them, prompting Atlas’s urgency to marry and have children?

”What nonsense are you thinking?” Atlas pinched Charlotte’s nose and asked, his face serious.
