Slime Evolution

Chapter 182: 182 - Sales and Investments

Accumulating 51,000 experience points was no easy task.

Even if they focused on killing only Level 11 monsters, with the experience split 4:4, two parts going to the pair of soldiers and two parts to Lohan and Lisa, the most they could earn was 250 points.

And that amount still fluctuated due to various factors between 230 and 250 experience points per monster.

Thus, with an average of 240 experience points per Level 11 monster, they would have to kill a total of 214 monsters to accumulate all 51,200 experience points to level up.

Sure, every now and then Level 10 monsters would appear that Lohan and Lisa would kill solo to gain more experience, or Level 12 monsters that required the group to band together to handle, which ended up wasting time and splitting the greater experience among more people.

So, by the end of the night, with everyone exhausted and their gear practically destroyed, they had to pause the hunt without Lohan and Lisa reaching Level 11.

[Experience: 36,922/51,200]

Looking at the experience bar so full, Lohan was very satisfied.

They had killed 146 monsters after he leveled up to Level 10, and adding that to the more than 80 monsters they killed that morning, this was their biggest hunting day yet.

In addition to the experience gained from hunting these monsters, Lohan had accumulated another 131,000 Biomass, the largest amount he had ever accumulated to date, and surprisingly, all earned in a single day!

Thinking that his power was already quite sufficient for Level 10, he decided to save this Biomass for Level 11, reasoning that it would be better to level up with Biomass to spare than to spend it all and run short for something important.

Of the 226 monsters they killed today, 172 were on the list of monsters Intervar needed, so after selling all the materials, at an average price of 42 copper coins per item, since hunting these monsters wasn’t that difficult, the reward totaled 72 silver coins and 24 copper coins!

After deducting a 10% fee for the Guild’s administration, 65 silver coins remained for the group.

Dividing that amount by 8, each person received 8 silver coins and 12 copper coins.

Which, converted to real-world currency, amounted to a total of $812 credits!

Before the soldiers could even react, Lisa dropped another bombshell.

”Since the Guild will need funds in the future, I can buy these coins from you for the Guild’s fund at a 2:1 rate compared to the price in Elysium. How about it?” she offered.

Hearing that, the group members’ eyes lit up even more!

”Please, I want to sell all my coins!” Dee was the first to respond, immediately holding out all his coins to the fox.

With a wife at home to take care of and having quit his office security job to work as one of Alice’s soldiers, he urgently needed money to convince his wife that he hadn’t made a mistake by quitting.

Lisa shook her head in refusal, looking at his damaged armor. ”Your gear is damaged. First, use some of that money to buy better gear, then I’ll buy the rest of the coins.”

Looking down, Dee gazed at his completely destroyed armor and sighed. Even more so after glancing at the rest of the group, whose armor had only minor damage, and thinking about how much extra he’d have to spend to repair his own, since he was the one taking the brunt of the damage whenever more powerful monsters appeared.

Realizing the situation, Lohan understood the unfairness and quickly proposed something. ”Considering that we were on a Guild activity, and that your equipment was damaged to help us level up, I believe using the Guild funds to help you buy new armor fits as a justifiable expense, right, Lisa?”

At this suggestion, Lisa raised her eyebrows and realized that his suggestion made sense.

It was exactly for situations like this that the Guild would collect a portion of the players’ rewards; nothing could be fairer than spending that money on the player who needed it.

There would still be other expenses in the future, such as maintaining the guild base, renovating the place, investing in intel, and a long list of other potential in-game expenses, expenses that could still be covered by Lisa buying coins from the players.

At the same time, the players looked at the Slime, shocked and amazed.

With everyone living at the Upper Zone base, their lives were only slightly better than those of the people in the Lower Zone; they knew all too well how large corporations exploited their employees for every penny they could save.

Seeing a boss like that, who, instead of wanting to profit even more from them, actually wanted to help them earn more money, touched the hearts of many.

WyrmWood, the druid who played a key role in controlling the monsters during the hunt alongside Halon, also stopped hesitating. ”So I’d like to sell 6 silver coins to the Guild; that would be the equivalent of $1,200 credits, right?”

”Yes.” Lisa nodded in agreement, taking those 6 coins, figuring the remaining money would be enough for him to repair his equipment.

Soon after, the other players also followed Wyrm’s example and sold 6 coins as well.

Dee, the warrior, was a bit hesitant about what to do next, but Lohan intervened. ”I think with the coins from the guild funds we can cover the purchase of new equipment for you, Dee, but I’d still recommend that you do as the others did and sell just 6 silver coins, using the rest to explore Thalendor in search of something that might be useful to you.”

Hearing that, Dee smiled and happily handed the 6 silver coins to Lisa as well.

None of them were afraid of being robbed by the fox, considering her last name was Vance and the prestige Astralis Requiem was gaining in the game, so they set out to explore the city happily, with their pockets fuller than they’d ever been in Elysium, leaving only Lohan, Lisa, and Alice behind.
