Slime Evolution

Chapter 111: 111 - How to deal with Pip?

With the new title he had received, Lohan looked at the gigantic corpse of the Queen Beetle in front of him and sighed.

Even though the title was extremely useful to him, from what he understood, he would have to digest the enemy’s entire body in order to ”steal” a new Evolution from it.

Fortunately, with the Queen’s death, the other beetles also fell to the ground. They were still alive, breathing naturally, but without her mind control, their bodies were just in idle mode, like a car running in neutral gear.

’At least killing them will make up for the experience I missed out on by killing the Queen...’ Lohan thought as he comforted himself.

He imagined he would gain a huge amount of experience for killing her, but since she was a Player, he received no experience at all...

Sure, this was a bigger disadvantage for Lisa than for him, since this gigantic, dense corpse still had a huge amount of biomass, which he could use to evolve and become even stronger, but Lisa did not have that opportunity.

So, they agreed to divide the experience from the beetles unequally.

Of the 16 Beetles there, 3 were Elite Beetles and the remaining 13 were common Beetles.

Lisa would get 2 Elite Beetles and 7 common Beetles, and Lohan would get 1 Elite Beetle and 6 common Beetles, but with the biomass of all 16 beetles and the Queen.

Sure, they could divide the odd numbers equally, since by fighting the monsters together, the experience could be divided equally, but considering that Lohan had already received a new title, he would get the biomass of all the monsters, and Lisa was very close to Level 09, he didn’t mind giving in here.

’The experience can be easily recovered in the future, there’s no need to rush now, not to mention that with her reaching Level 09, it will be even easier for us to hunt in the future than for both of us to stay at Level 08.

’ Lohan thought with a clear conscience.
But besides the Beetles around them, there was also another being there, flying lost.

”Hello?” Lisa tried to create a mental link between them and the little fairy, but upon hearing their voices in his mind, Pip was frightened and his body contracted, lowering his head.

”Please... don’t hurt Pip anymore, Pip will protect you with Pip’s life...” A weak and frightened voice came out of his mouth.

The pair felt sorry when they saw that, wondering what he had gone through to end up like that, so they were a little lost as to how to act.

Lisa wasn’t used to acting in a calm and reassuring manner, always having to remain firm, unyielding, and cold due to her family’s expectations and training.

Lohan, on the other hand, was usually the target of people who tried to act reassuringly or pity him for being disabled and confined to a hospital bed, which he always hated.

So the two just stared at the little fairy, not knowing how to act.

”How about we call his sister?” Lohan finally suggested. ”She should know how to deal with this better... at least he still has a conscience, right?”

Lisa’s eyes lit up at the suggestion and she nodded.

”Wait here,” she said to Pip through the mental link, who did not hesitate under the command and quickly landed on the floor and remained kneeling, trembling with fear of the consequences of disobeying orders.

To ensure Pip’s safety, Lisa and Lohan split up and killed all the beetles in that room, fearing that their newfound freedom would make them aggressive at some point.

[Experience: +2,577]

[Experience: 9,057 / 12,800]

While Lohan received the experience from the beetles, marveling at how close he was to rising to Level 09, Lisa’s fur began to glow.

A white and red glow ran through her body, purifying the impurities attached to her body and developing the fox’s small body to a small degree, causing her to grow about 1 centimeter and the muscles inside that small body to become denser, stronger, and more powerful!

The Spiritual Energy within her also evolved to a small degree, increasing the power of her spiritual attacks without the need for any external items.

This was the biggest advantage for Monster Players like them.

Unlike humans who needed items to truly show greater power corresponding to their current level, monster Players received much clearer and more powerful upgrades and evolutions with each level, not needing external props to show how much more powerful they were.

Sure, if they could get items like humans, items that were truly compatible with them, that power could be even more explosive, which was why some monsters became extremely protective of the things they found.

”Are you coming with me?” Lisa asked, looking at Lohan and his three clones digesting the giant corpse of the queen, with a small smile on the corner of her mouth.

After digesting the Queen Beetle’s brain, Lohan knew there were no more monsters in the tree and replied. ”No, I’m going to need a lot of time to digest this Queen’s entire corpse, I think it’s better if I focus here. The tree is already secure, so your trip should be smooth, but just in case, take one of my clones with you.”

When he said that, one of the small clones that had been digesting the Queen’s body broke free and rolled over to Lisa, like a small child version of Halon.

Lisa looked at the little creature and approached it, not minding taking it with her.

With so much time interacting with Halon, she was already used to it at this point.

Then she left.

Lohan was still ’accompanying’ her, able to see what she saw, but feeling that the quality of his vision and control over that clone was becoming weaker and weaker in relation to the distance he was from it.

But this functionality was surprisingly useful.

And the most surprising thing was that when Lisa made the mental link to talk to Elle, who was flying worriedly outside the tree, she subconsciously also included ’Halon’ behind her, and Lohan was able to hear the conversation as if he were there in person!

’If I improve my control over long distances with my clones, in the future I will be able to act as a real-time communicator!’ He realized with surprise!

Even with the chat functionality between Players, beings from this world did not have access to this function, so Lohan’s use at this point would be very useful!
