Slime Evolution

Chapter 105: 105 - Unexpected Idea

”That... huff... was... huff... crazy!” Lisa laughed excitedly, not even bothering to maintain the composure she always showed.

Looking at the two beetle corpses at her feet, which Lohan was using as fuel for digestion, converting their biomass into Natural Energy while healing her body, the fox finally smiled, ignoring the itchiness that his healing brought to her body.

At this point, Lisa didn’t even mind being completely embraced by the Slime.

The sensation of Natural Energy flowing through her body was as warm and relaxing as diving into a hot spring.

Her muscles relaxed and simply absorbed the rich nutrients that the Slime transferred through contact, regenerating at a speed visible to the naked eye!

For Lohan, this process was very inefficient, consuming a huge amount of Biomass to recover her injuries, but considering that it would be even more inefficient to return to Thalendor and try to buy healing potions to recover these injuries, he decided to speed up this process even further.

Spending a total of 254 Biomass, Lohan purchased 4 new evolutions!

[Efficient Digestion Lv 16 → Lv 20]

With these evolutions, his base digestion increased by 16.94 Bio/h, reaching a total of 53.54 Bio/h!

This increased his digestion speed from 260 Bio/h to 381 Bio/h, and with [Hemolymphatic Tissue], this value rose to a total of 1,221.45 Biomass per hour!

’I finally passed the thousand biomass per hour mark!’ Lohan thought excitedly!

Maintaining this high digestion rate, Lohan needed only an hour to completely digest the bodies of these Level 10 Elite Beetles! Sure, that was keeping their Mana Stones inside him.

Considering that what slowed their progress in this dungeon the most was the fact that Lisa was badly injured, decreasing her combat power after each encounter with enemies.

All the biomass he got from these corpses was used to heal her body and recover the biomass stock he spent to protect her.

Was it a little painful to see so much biomass being used to heal her instead of using it to improve himself? Definitely.

But Lohan knew that the higher he leveled up, the easier it would be for him to obtain large amounts of biomass like this, while the reward for being the first Guild to form in Elysium was something unique.

He wouldn’t be foolish enough to pass up the grand prize out of greed for something as cheap as a thousand biomass.

’Hehe, who would have thought that at some point I would treat a thousand biomass as if it were nothing!’ He laughed mentally at how crazy that perception seemed.

Stretching her body, Lisa’s joints popped slightly, but the satisfied expression never left her face. ”That new skill of yours fell from the sky, Halon!”

Lohan remembered how he got the seed that brought about this new evolution, and laughed. ”It literally fell from the sky, haha.”

”I’m sorry for becoming a burden, Halon, I believe it was very exhausting for you to heal me like that, right?” Lisa asked, a little embarrassed.

”A burden? You?” Lohan laughed, vibrating the gelatin of his body against Lisa’s body. ”If I am your armor, you are our blade. If we separate, my effectiveness in combat would be drastically reduced. We are a set, Lisa, spending my biomass to keep you whole is the best investment I can make.”

Lisa looked away, feeling her cheeks grow a little warm.

With her body now recovered, she felt light. ”You have a strange way of seeing things, Halon... but I’m surprised by the versatility you’re able to show... now it seems to make sense why your Race is Mythic Level.”

”Your help in stopping me from digesting grass and starting to digest Elite monsters is what demonstrated my potential.” Lohan replied honestly. He knew he would reach that point eventually, but having someone to carry him in the early game was a big step forward in his development.

And staying ahead at this point in the game could be crucial to his future development, considering how valuable the rewards for the first players to accomplish something can be.

”But we don’t have much time to rest... Considering that the Queen already knows we killed two of her Elite Soldiers while trying to escape from the tree, maybe advancing towards her is a good idea.”

He said with an evil smile on his face.

Lisa’s eyes sparkled as she stood up, shaking her white fur that now shone again, and approved of his tactic. ”That’s not a bad idea... if we take into account that we won’t have to leave the dungeon, we can use the Queen’s lack of information to better infiltrate the tree and launch a decisive attack on her!”

Lohan looked up at the hole in the ceiling, where the buzzing of the hive seemed to have fallen silent in an ominous calm. ”The Queen will probably use the next bit of time to drain the life from creatures like Pip, who have been captured, to strengthen her remaining soldiers as much as possible, and maybe even generate more soldiers to stop us when we ’return’. If we delay, the next beetles we face will be even tougher, but on the other hand, she won’t expect us to still be here.”

”So what are we waiting for?” Lisa bared her fangs, where small sparks of [Spirit Fire] were already beginning to dance with excitement.

Smiling, Lohan retracted his three clones and positioned himself even closer around the fox’s body, activating both of his mimicry skills and practically disappearing into the shadows inside the tree.

-xXx-

Just as they had imagined, when the Queen learned that the two intruders had killed the two Elite Beetles she had left at the entrance to the tree as a security measure, she was mad with rage.

Completely ignoring the efficiency and sustainability of draining the life energy of the captured creatures, she sucked it all up and began to pour it into a target creature.
