THE SYSTEM IS NOT MINE

”Uncle Qin, did we come to the wrong place?” Mofu looked toward the brothel. Many men were already going in and coming out.

”No, go in.” Old man Qin said.

Mofu walked toward the door, but did not immediately go inside.

He stood outside for a moment, then walked in.

The first thing that greeted him was the scent of plum blossoms, then many people in the room.

Some were lying down, some leaned against the pillars, some sat on a raised platform.

All of them looked at Mofu, and at his armor.

The receptionist was a woman whose skin looked younger and healthier. She was wearing a pink frock with revealing thighs.

She immediately came to Mofu, coiled her hand into his arm, ”Sir General, it’s a pleasure for you to greet us.”

”Master already gave instructions to me if you ever came here. Come with me.” She pulled his arm.

Mofu followed behind her. Soon they climbed the stairs and went inside a room.

”Mofuuuuu...”

”How have you been?”

A fat man wearing red tunics rushed at Mofu and hugged him.

”Jiyan?”

The fat man came in front of Mofu and stopped.

”I have been good. How have you been?” Mofu asked.

Jiyan’s smile vanished. ”Just doing okay.”

”What happened?” Mofu asked.

”I am the owner of this brothel. Apparently, people don’t like me because of it. Everywhere I go, people curse me.”

Mofu came forward and hugged Jiyan.

”What about the others? Where are they?” Mofu asked.

Jiyan stayed silent for a minute, and then said.

”Namu robbed a noble lady, and he was hunted down and imprisoned. It has been five years since then.”

”Rijita left the city for the capital and never came back.”

”Long Lan sells quark items in the market.”

Jiyan explained.

Mofu listened but didn’t say anything immediately.

”Let’s do this. After we win the war, I will personally go and free Namu, and search for Rijita.”

”But come with me, let’s have drinks first.” Mofu said.

Mofu, Jiyan, and the receptionist then headed downstairs.

”Girl, you should not do this sort of work. Listen to me. You can still go back to earning with dignity.” Old man Qin was already inside the brothel and was lecturing one of the women lying on the floor.

”Old man, why don’t you come with me inside? I will make you experience heaven.” The girl sat up and grabbed old man’s legs, and leaned closer to his stomach with her face. She looked up.

”Stay away from me, you damn slut, stay away...” Old man trembled.

Then the girl released him and went to some other room.

”Uncle Qin,” Right at that moment, Mofu arrived along with Jiyan.

Qin looked at Mofu and then at Jiyan, and said, ”Now, do you understand why you shouldn’t see your old buddies?”

”Uncle, I don’t. What’s wrong? He is still my buddy. Either way, why had you come inside?” Mofu asked.

”Why do you think I have to? You are too slow. Your aunt is waiting for me at home. Do your fly thing and take me home... and don’t hang out with this guy... you will get spoiled.” Old man Qin pointed his finger at Jiyan.

Mofu looked at Jiyan and said, ”I will be back.”

Wind Qi surrounded him and the old man as their feet left the ground, and then they flew away from the door.

After about an hour, Mofu returned, and then he and Jiyan left the brothel.

”Isn’t that the brothel owner? Why is the new General hanging out with him?”

One man in the street murmured with another.

Simultaneously, many people began to give them weird looks.

Jiyan kept his head down, but Mofu did not.

Soon, they walked to the market district under the gazes of people and stopped in front of a seller.

”Come here, people.”

A man stood among piles of goods placed on a mat, and he was holding a white glass bottle.

”Buy this medicine. It is the best of the best. It can regrow your hair in seconds wherever you apply it. Guaranteed to work.”

”Will this really work?” Mofu walked forward and said.

”Of course, it does...” The seller looked toward the voice.

”You are...”

”Long Lan, what else do your magical goods do?” Mofu asked.

”Mm... they kill mosquitoes in seconds, store water for years without spoilage... Wait, are you here to buy my goods?” Long Lan looked at Mofu.

”Ha... ha... Why would I be here to buy the trash? Come, let’s have drinks.”

”Watch what you call trash. These are treasures.” Long Lan said.

”And... I can’t leave them here on the street and come with you.” Long Lan added.

Mofu kept his hand on his chin, then he saw two soldiers passing by.

”Hey, you!”

The two soldiers suddenly stopped and looked toward the person calling them.

”Isn’t that the General?” One of them spoke.

”Yes,” the other replied.

”Seems like he is calling us.”

”Yes, let’s go and see.”

Both walked toward Mofu.

”Greetings, General.” Both the soldiers said.

Mofu nodded.

”You guys keep watch on these things until we come back,” Mofu ordered.

”Sure, General.” The soldiers nodded as they looked toward the things.

Then Mofu, Jiyan, and Long Lan left.

”Do you think there is something special about these trash-looking items?” One of the soldiers asked.

”Might be. The General specifically asked us to guard them. Let’s skip lunch today.” Another one said.

”Yes,” the soldiers replied.

After a few minutes.

”Mommy, look, look, even soldiers are selling things...” A little girl who was passing by pointed her right finger at the soldiers.

”Shh...” The mom pulled her hand down. ”Don’t point out. They must be in debt, so they are doing additional work.”

After about two hours, the rays of the sun turned golden and the air cooled.

Mofu returned with Jiyan and Long Lan.

”You guys did well,” Mofu praised them.

”Thank You, General.”

And they left for the military base, that night Mofu had drinks with Kaizi and others.

The next day evening, Mofu climbed to a hill, and arrived at cemetery and halted in front of two graves.

””Father... Mother...”

Mofu stared at the two graves.

”I...”

He stopped.

”I became a General.”

Mofu stayed silent again.

”I wish if you were here with me.”

”Tomorrow, As a General, I would have my first battle”

He lowered his head.

”I don’t know how many people will come back with me.”

Mofu paused.

”And It’s a bit overwhelming.”

”But don’t worry,”

Mofu looked towards the direction of Shin.

”Your son would be okay.”

Mofu said and then stayed silent for few moments, and left the place.

After arriving back to Golden Eagle City, Leo came to him.

Leo stood still while lowering his gaze while Mofu was seated on a chair.

”What happened?” Mofu asked.

”General, we’ve lost contact with our scouts.” Leo said.

Mofu took a deep breath.

”How many of them?”

”None have responded.” Leo nodded.

Mofu was silent for a moment. He stood up and walked towards Leo.

And kept his hands on Leo’s shoulder, and said, ”Don’t worry, I am here. For now Let’s tighten the city’s security.”

”Yes, General.” Leo said, and left the room.

That night.

Chen Yu approached Yan and asked, ”Sometime ago, we all commanders had a meeting, and some of us had volunteered to lead a night patrol around city and the gates.”

”I volunteered as well, I just wanted to ask if you are interested to come along ? ”

”No, ” Yan said.

”That’s fine, we will go, you take care.” Chen Yu said as he led Gwalior and all other Han Defu unit except Yan to the patrol.

Next to the egels made of stones, whose eyes illuminated with fire inside their head, Chen Yu and Gwalior was walking side by side, on the wall of Golden Eagle City.

”Commander, I have noticed that your desperation to become strong, is there any particular reason behind it?” Gwalior asked.

Chen Yu stopped as Gwalior took few steps more than Chen Yu, and turned towards Chen Yu.

Then Chen Yu started walking again, and said, ”During the last war, I met few friends., among them there was one who was much closer..”

”Most died, killed by a Commander of Shin.”

Then Chen Yu tightened his hand on the sword hilt, and said, ”I want to kill him.”

Gwalior wanted to say something but decided not too.

”But I am still not strong enough..”

” If I meet him in tomorrow’s war, I would be definitely be dead.” Chen Yu said.

Gwalior listened.

Meanwhile Yan slipped into military grounds, and buried himself till neck.

When he walked to the barracks, the soldiers already moving out of it.

Yan washed himself, and then followed others.

Chen Yu was leading Han Defu Unit, Gwalior stood beside him.

Yan stood among other members of Han Defu unit.

And today, there was one more special unit, they held long and sturdy shields.

Han Defu Unit along with 100k other soldiers stood near the city gate, everyone was waiting for the General to show up.

Right then, with a gust of wind, the General arrived up in the air.

”Open the gate,”

Mofu ordered.

The gate was opened, then Mofu said, ”Let’s go.”

The military including cavalry, infantry, cultivator units..etc, everyone moved towards the Shin.

But Just after they walked two kilometres.

Mofu, who was flyinga above, suddenly halted.

Then he turned his head downwards, towards the army and shouted, ”Prepare to Engage.”

The Noir army, tightened their grip on the weapons.

Then they heard sound of footsteps in no time.

Dust rose in the distance, and then came the sound of countless footsteps.

Chen Yu saw them, The Shin Army.

They were already approaching.
