THE SYSTEM IS NOT MINE

”Are you sure?” Yan asked while looking at the sword pointed at him.

”Yes,” Chen Yu tightened his grip on the sword.

Then he walked backward into the Martial Arena, the open ground.

”Look,”

”Look,”

”We might see a good show today.”

The kids who were fighting all stopped and looked towards Yan and Chen Yu, where Chen Yu pointed his sword at Yan.

A spiritual qi aura burst around Chen Yu as he showed his cultivation of Spiritual Qi Formation Level Five.

Yan took his sword from the sheath he held at his waist.

And pointed back at Chen Yu.

Chen Yu lunged at Yan.

Clang!

Their swords collided, then Chen Yu immediately pulled back and attacked again.

Clang!

But Yan hadn’t moved an inch.

Chen Yu bent down under his sword, moved forward, then his sword came at him from the right.

Clang!

Then Chen Yu shifted around Yan’s back and struck again.

Clang!

His hands turned numb with pain, but he did not stop and still pulled his sword back and brought it down toward Yan’s head.

Clang!

For every strike, Chen Yu felt as if Yan could read every one of his attacks before he even made them.

But he refused to give up.

He changed his angle and attacked from below, sweeping his sword from Yan’s legs toward his waist.

Clang!

”I am not done yet,” Chen Yu said as he held his sword tightly.

Then he charged at Yan, and this time, Yan moved and lifted his left toe a little up. Chen Yu’s sword missed Yan, and his leg coiled with Yan’s left leg, and he fell on the ground.

”Haa... ha...”

”Look at him, the loser.”

Some kids laughed around.

But Chen Yu did not look at them. He stood back up and pointed his sword at Yan, then he moved.

”Clang!”

Chen Yu looked at Yan seriously as they clashed, but Yan brought his left hand towards his mouth and yawned, and only held the sword in his right hand.

Chen Yu did not rage despite the taunt. He took back steps and charged at Yan again.

”Clang!” Yan stopped him with a single hand.

Clang!

Clang!

Clang!

Chen Yu’s sword kept on clashing with Yan while Yan casually stopped him.

Then Chen Yu came from behind Yan; his sword grazed Yan’s cheek. Right then, Yan’s sword moved up from the bottom and hit his sword.

His grip loosened as the sword left his hand and was sent flying away.

”Let’s stop,” Yan said.

Chen Yu nodded, and then they left for Han Defu’s home.

That evening, Yan buried himself in the ground, while Chen Yu reached out to Luma, who was swinging swords in the courtyard of the mansion, and asked, ”Commander Luma, can I ask you something?”

Commander Luma, who was swinging his sword, glanced at him and said, ”Yes.”

”How do you land a hit on someone who always knows what you are going to do before you do that?” Chen Yu asked.

Luma rubbed his chin and said, ”You need to be faster than him if he knows where, when, and how you are going to attack.”

Chen Yu nodded. ”But what if I am not faster?”

”Just have to get stronger. The stronger you are, the faster you would be. There is a reason why many people would choose Wind as their second letter after reaching the Core Formation realm. It gives speed and the ability to fly.” Luma lifted a sword and a gust of wind left the sword and grazed Chen Yu.

It’s always speed. Chen Yu clenched his hands and thought back to the time when he asked General Hecta how to increase survivability.

”One last thing, can you spar with me?” Chen Yu asked Luma.

”Go away, I don’t have time,” Luma said while swinging his sword.

Chen Yu kept his head down and walked to the other side of the courtyard and kept swinging his sword.

After about ten minutes, he sat down and began cultivating.

The next day.

At the Martial Arena.

”Look! Those big brothers are here again.”

One of the kids pointed at Yan and Chen Yu, who had just arrived at the Arena.

”Clang!” Chen Yu again lunged at Yan while Yan blocked the sword with a single hand again.

Chen Yu kept a distance, and then he rubbed his leg onto the ground, raising the sand dust into the air towards Yan.

Then he charged at Yan.

”Clang!”

The next day.

”Well, do you think they will come again?” one kid asked another.

”I am not sure,” another kid replied.

”They came, they came.” One of the kids shouted as everyone turned towards the kid first, then looked at two silhouettes whose blades clashed.

Day after day, Yan and Chen Yu showed up. The crowd grew bigger, from kids to their parents and bystanders. And every time, Chen Yu lost badly, but he kept on going.

After about three weeks,

In the Martial Arena, two kids were discussing among themselves while looking at the clash in front.

”Buju, who do you like more, the overpowered big brother or the loser brother?” one kid asked the other kid standing next to him.

”Kulu, of course, the overpowered big brother. Why would I like the loser?” Buju said.

”But there is something about the loser I really like. It’s like he is not giving up,” Kulu said.

”Mm... he is weak. Weaklings can’t survive in the world,” Buju said.

”But he is getting stronger. Maybe one day...” Kulu was thinking.

”Clang!”

I need to get strong. I will kill Yomi.

Chen Yu lost himself in his thoughts as his sword slashed at Yan from the bottom.

Chen Yu’s aura rose; the aura of Spiritual Qi Formation Layer 7 spread out.

Yan scratched his head with one hand while the other hand held the sword that clashed with Chen Yu.

”Clang!” Chen Yu arrived from the right side.

Stronger.

”Clang!” He pulled his blade and hit it again.

Then he went behind Yan, and jumped. The sword descended from the top.

”Clang!”

Not enough.

Chen Yu bent and wiped sweat away from his forehead. His feet pressed against the ground; dust rose as he lunged at Yan again.

”Clang!”

Yan casually blocked with the sword in his right hand again.

Right then, a soldier of Han Defu’s unit rushed towards them and said, ”Commander Chen Yu, Lord Han Defu summons you.”

Chen Yu looked at Yan and said, ”Let’s go.”

Yan nodded as they stopped the spar and began to leave.

As they began to leave, ”Chen Yu? The hero who burned enemy grains?” the crowd murmured.

”He was here, all along, the whole three weeks,” some opened their mouths.

”Kulu, which one do you think Chen Yu is?” Buju asked.

”Mm... I am not sure...” Kulu said.”Dumb... dumb... it must be the overpowered guy,” Buju replied.
