Billionaire: You're Telling Me You're the Crown Prince of Kyoto

169: After the awards ceremony, I turned around and left.Jiang Chuan and Mu Qingcheng stayed in a hotel.

Yang Mi also sent over the gowns.

Mu Qingcheng’s gown was made of delicate silk, shimmering with a faint luster, like a night sky dotted with stars. Its style was unique, with a fitted top perfectly showcasing her curves, and a skirt that fanned out like butterfly wings, adding a touch of poetry and elegance.

Jiang Chuan’s suit was simpler, just an expensive black suit.

“Does it look good?”

Mu Qingcheng tried on the gown and asked Jiang Chuan, who was beside her, with a smile.

“It looks good,” Jiang Chuan replied with a smile and a nod.

As night deepened, the two quickly fell asleep.

The next day, Mu Qingcheng was quite busy with makeup and hairstyling… Jiang Chuan stayed with Mu Qingcheng, and as the awards ceremony approached, the makeup artist offered to do his makeup, but he directly refused.

The makeup artist, seeing Jiang Chuan’s insistence on not wearing makeup, had no choice but to agree.

At seven o’clock, the awards ceremony was about to begin, and many actors and directors arrived on the red carpet.

This time, Jiang Chuan also accompanied Mu Qingcheng on the red carpet walk.

When Jiang Chuan and Mu Qingcheng walked onto the red carpet, they attracted the attention of most media outlets.

Especially some gossip media, who were even more excited.

Jiang Chuan and Mu Qingcheng saw the excited media but didn’t care; they hadn’t hidden their relationship. As long as the media didn’t write nonsense, neither of them would mind. However, if the media did write nonsense, they would have to bear the corresponding responsibility.

After the red carpet walk, Jiang Chuan and Mu Qingcheng entered the venue.

The venue was very large.

The Golden Horse Awards invited most of China’s actors and directors, including those from Hong Kong Island and Macau, to attend.

The seating in the venue was also divided by status.

A-list artists, B-list artists… first-tier directors, second-tier directors… Although Mu Qingcheng had just entered the entertainment industry, her first film was a Hu Ge success, and now she had even received a nomination for the Golden Horse Awards, so her seat was naturally arranged in the second row.

The first row was occupied by A-list artists and first-tier directors, people who had been deeply involved in the entertainment industry for many years.

“Sister Qingcheng, over here.”

Reba and Yang Mi had entered the venue first. Reba saw Mu Qingcheng and Jiang Chuan arrive and waved at her.

Jiang Chuan and Mu Qingcheng also saw Reba, smiled at her, and walked towards her.

Reba actually wasn’t qualified to sit in the second row; this time, Reba came more to gain experience.

Reba was able to sit there thanks to Yang Mi’s connections.

Yang Mi’s connections in the entertainment industry were indeed good. She contacted the organizers to have most of her company’s artists sit together. As for those artists who hadn’t yet gained fame, they could only sit further back.

“Brother Jiang, Sister Qingcheng.”

When Jiang Chuan and Mu Qingcheng sat down, the other artists from their company also greeted them.

The two smiled and nodded.

Once everyone had arrived at the venue, and before the awards ceremony began, familiar artists and directors started to mingle and chat.

Yang Mi also introduced Mu Qingcheng to many prominent directors, including those from the mainland, Hong Kong Island, and Macau.

These directors spoke highly of Mu Qingcheng and expressed their willingness to collaborate if an opportunity arose in the future.

After half an hour of exchanges among the actors and directors, the awards ceremony officially began.

The Host of the awards ceremony was a very high-profile figure; this time, they had even invited Kung Fu Superstar Chen Long (Kung Fu superstar Jackie Chan) and Zhang Yi.

Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi presented various awards, offering congratulations and encouragement.

The awards ceremony had reached its final segment, with only the Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Actress awards remaining to be presented.

“I believe everyone wants to know who will win the Best Picture award, right?”

“I’m sure many of you already have an answer in mind.”

“This film has received recognition from countless audiences; it truly deserves the Best Picture award.”

Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi smiled at each other, then presented the Best Picture award to the film starring Mu Qingcheng.

“With the Best Picture award presented, it’s time for what everyone has been most looking forward to: Best Actor and Best Actress.”

“Who will be this year’s Best Actor?”

“Will it be our Heavenly King Liu Hua?”

“Or our new-generation actor Hu Ge?”

… Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi stood on stage, smiling and continuously building the audience’s excitement.

“Let’s welcome our Heavenly King Liu for winning the Best Actor award!”

Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi knew it was time to announce the award and revealed the final winning actor.

Heavenly King Liu, who was around fifty years old, was still somewhat excited upon hearing he had won the Best Actor award and walked enthusiastically onto the stage.

He thanked the director, the cast, his wife, and his supportive fans.

After the Best Actor award was presented, only one award remained for the Golden Horse Awards.

“Hmm?”

Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi both frowned as they looked at the name for the Best Actress award in their hands, their expressions turning grim.

The artists and directors in the audience, seeing their changing expressions, couldn’t help but frown, wondering what had happened.

Everyone was shrewd and could guess that something must have gone wrong; otherwise, two international artists wouldn’t display such expressions.

“Excuse me, everyone, please bear with us for a few minutes. There’s a slight issue backstage that we need to address.”

Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi exchanged glances, clearly unwilling to play the villain. They smiled apologetically, then turned and left the stage, heading backstage.

Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi went straight to the organizers, and the two parties even had an argument.

Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi were furious when the organizers adamantly refused to change the Best Actress award list.

However, they couldn’t bring themselves to go against their conscience and present the Best Actress award to an actress with no acting skills, so they simply walked away, refusing to do it.

The organizers were furious, not expecting Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi to be so unyielding and simply leave.

The organizers even directly threatened them, saying that if they left, they would find ways to blacklist them.

Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi merely gave a cold laugh. Having been in the entertainment industry for so many years, their connections were not to be underestimated. Although a Taiwan organizer’s influence was not weak, they clearly didn’t believe the threat and simply turned and left.

Seeing Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi leave without looking back, the organizers could only hastily call on two unknown Taiwan Hosts to save the situation.

“What’s going on? Why didn’t Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi Host the final awards segment?!”

“It seems something really happened; otherwise, Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi wouldn’t disrespect the organizers like this.”

“It must be that the Best Actress award was tampered with.”

Some were confused, while others guessed the reason for Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi’s departure.
