Billionaire: You're Telling Me You're the Crown Prince of Kyoto

82: Donations made free of charge, split 50/50!Jiang Chuan was stunned when he heard Qin Lingwei’s words.

But he quickly recovered.

He understood that Qin Lingwei had misunderstood him, believing that he was manufacturing the one-nanometer photolithography machine for sale.

He could also understand Qin Lingwei’s thinking, but Jiang Chuan would not sell this technology or invention abroad.

Qin Lingwei belonged to a generation where Huaguo was still relatively underdeveloped, and they had dedicated their entire lives to the development of Huaguo.

If Tianxia Group really manufactured the one-nanometer photolithography machine, it would shatter the world order.

The best photolithography machine in the world was the three-nanometer photolithography machine, which was an invention of the United States.

The three-nanometer photolithography machine could mass-produce three-nanometer chips.

The relationship between the United States and Huaguo was very complicated; even the entire photolithography machine technology was monopolized by the United States. Although Huaguo had continuously developed photolithography machines over the years, it could only barely manufacture seven-nanometer photolithography machines, which was still far behind the world’s most cutting-edge level.

Furthermore, in recent years, Huaguo had to purchase high-end chips from abroad at high prices, which depleted Huaguo’s national wealth.

Once Huaguo mastered the one-nanometer photolithography machine and manufactured more advanced one-nanometer chips, the foreign chip monopoly would collapse without a fight. Foreign countries might even come to Huaxia to purchase the more advanced chips, thereby stimulating Huaxia’s economy.

”Dean Qin, I will not sell the photolithography machine to any person or country!”

Jiang Chuan heard Qin Lingwei’s words and stated this sentence with great certainty.

Whoosh!

As Jiang Chuan’s words fell, the expressions of Qin Lingwei and Yan Hua instantly changed drastically, and Lu Zhengyi’s expression also shifted slightly. Only Liu Yong’s expression remained unchanged and placid.

”Dean Qin, Elder Yan, please don’t look at me like that, I haven’t finished speaking yet.”

Feeling the coldness in the gazes of Qin Lingwei and Yan Hua, Jiang Chuan immediately gave a wry smile.

Qin Lingwei and Yan Hua did not speak, they just looked at Jiang Chuan.

”The photolithography machine has not been successfully researched yet, so I plan to have Tianxia Group research it first. Once the photolithography machine is successfully researched, I will donate the photolithography machine to Huaguo free of charge, and simultaneously donate the technology to Huaguo free of charge.”

”Of course, Dean Qin, I do have one condition for donating it to Huaguo free of charge: our Tianxia Group must retain the sales rights for the chips. That is to say, Tianxia Group can manufacture the photolithography machine and sell the resulting chips to anyone. Naturally, I can donate half of the profits from the chip sales to Huaguo free of charge.”

Jiang Chuan smiled as he looked at Qin Lingwei and stated his thoughts and conditions.

”Ah!”

Qin Lingwei was astonished when she heard Jiang Chuan’s words, and she looked at him in surprise.

She had not expected that the young Jiang Chuan would go this far.

Although Jiang Chuan had provided a complete blueprint, the preliminary research might fail, costing a huge amount of money. Yet, he was willing to donate the successfully researched photolithography machine and technology to the country free of charge, and even half of the future chip profits. This was essentially giving Huaguo benefits for free, without Huaguo having to bear any risk.

”President Jiang, are you serious?”

Qin Lingwei looked deeply at the young Jiang Chuan, asking the question with increasing satisfaction.

”Of course, I am serious.”

Jiang Chuan replied with great certainty.

As this sentence fell, the gazes of Qin Lingwei and Elder Yan toward Jiang Chuan carried admiration and approval.

”President Jiang, I thank you on behalf of all of Huaguo.”

”I will inform the Huaguo High-Level Officials about this matter as soon as possible. At that time, the Huaguo Official Authorities will negotiate with your Tianxia Group.”

Qin Lingwei expressed her gratitude to Jiang Chuan.

”Ding! Congratulations host for receiving one sincere thank you.”

”Dean Qin, you are too kind. This is what I should do as a citizen of Huaguo.”

Jiang Chuan just smiled, believing that doing what a Huaguo citizen should do was not worthy of thanks.

After the discussion regarding the one-nanometer photolithography machine concluded, Jiang Chuan’s gaze fell upon Lu Zhengyi, and he spoke with a slight smile: ”Team Leader Lu, I am not familiar with the specifics of research. The matter of the photolithography machine is now entrusted to you. Regardless of the cost or sacrifice, you must manufacture the photolithography machine as quickly as possible. Once the photolithography machine is manufactured, hand the first unit over to the country, and simultaneously hand the technology over to the country.”

”Yes, President Jiang.”

Lu Zhengyi was also impressed by Jiang Chuan’s patriotism and solemnly agreed.

”President Jiang, you have done Huaguo a great service this time. Tonight, I would like to invite you... and President Liu to dinner.”

After the discussion concluded, Qin Lingwei’s gaze also fell on Jiang Chuan, and she extended a dinner invitation to him. Worried that Jiang Chuan might refuse, she included Liu Yong.

”Dean Qin, I have matters to attend to tonight, so I won’t be joining you for dinner. President Jiang can go alone.”

Liu Yong’s interpersonal skills and ability to read people had reached a masterful level. He naturally discerned that Qin Lingwei actually didn’t want to invite him, so he said with a light chuckle.

Hearing how sensible Liu Yong was, Qin Lingwei merely glanced at him before quickly retracting her gaze, focusing her attention back on Jiang Chuan.

”Certainly, Dean Qin. It is my honor to have dinner with you. However, my younger sister and a friend came to the capital with me this time. I was wondering if I could bring them along?”

Jiang Chuan naturally found it hard to refuse Qin Lingwei’s kindness, so he asked with a smile.

”Younger sister?”

Qin Lingwei frowned slightly upon hearing Jiang Chuan’s words, the confusion on her face fleeting, and her expression quickly returned to normal as she agreed with a smile.

Jiang Chuan and Qin Lingwei exchanged phone numbers. He and Liu Yong then left the Research and Development Department first.

Qin Lingwei, feeling uneasy, also led the academicians and researchers of the Chinese Academy of Sciences out of the Research and Development Department and back to the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

After returning to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qin Lingwei quickly booked a table at a time-honored restaurant in the capital.

She had figured it out: regardless of whether Jiang Chuan was the person she suspected him to be, the Tianxia Group he founded and the photolithography machine he donated free of charge today were enough reason for her to treat him to dinner.

”President Jiang, I have booked the restaurant. You, your family, and your friend may come over now.”

Qin Lingwei arrived at a century-old restaurant in the capital and contacted Jiang Chuan immediately.

”Alright, Dean Qin. I have received the location you sent me. We will be right there.”

Jiang Chuan received Qin Lingwei’s call, got the address the other party sent, and quickly replied.

”Let’s go, we’re going out to eat.”

”Old Xu, keep your mouth in check. Do not offend this figure, or I won’t be able to save you.”

Jiang Chuan said with a light laugh to Lin Xiaoxiao and Xu Jia beside him. The three of them then went together to the century-old restaurant Qin Lingwei had booked.
