Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 942: Chapter 944: What’s Going On Here

Yunyi turned her head to look at Huo Jingrui: ”What’s the situation here?”

Huo Jingrui looked at her expression and couldn’t help but laugh: ”The residential area here uses public toilets due to space constraints. The reason I chose this yard is because it’s on the edge, and there’s a small space outside. It’s enough to build a bathroom and won’t affect others.”

Hearing this, Yunyi felt a warmth in her heart.

Then she heard Huo Jingrui continue: ”But it’s too cold to start construction now, and I also wanted to wait for you to come so I could hear your opinion.”

Yunyi looked outside: ”Can we use this entire area?”

Huo Jingrui nodded: ”Yes, I’ve already applied to logistics. This is just a small road, and besides the row of houses on the edge, few people walk here.

Some families have developed this area for growing vegetables. I thought that after building the bathroom, you could plant whatever you want in the remaining space. Also, every household in the company has a vegetable garden, but it’s located at the foot of the mountain opposite the residential area. If you want, I can apply for it later.”

Yunyi nodded: ”I definitely want it. Even if I have to go to school later, I’ll still come back every weekend. Having a vegetable garden would be convenient.”

After speaking, she pointed outside: ”Since we’re building it, let’s make the bathroom a bit larger, with separate wet and dry areas.”

Huo Jingrui had seen modern bathrooms in Yunyi’s space before, so he understood what she meant: ”Alright, I’ll prepare the materials first; we’ll start construction when it warms up in spring.”

After locking the door, they returned to the yard. Yunyi pointed to the side of the courtyard wall: ”Let’s set up a grapevine trellis there later.”

Huo Jingrui had no reason to disagree. He knew Yunyi had mature grapevines in her space, so they could be transplanted easily: ”I’ll find someone to make a rocking chair for you to place there.”

As they were talking excitedly, they heard Sister-in-law Lü’s voice from next door: ”Deputy Commander Huo, Sister-in-law, it’s almost noon. You’ve just moved in, so you probably don’t have everything you need. I’ve just prepared some stuffing, so come over for lunch and have some dumplings.”

Yunyi was about to refuse, but Huo Jingrui accepted: ”Sure, thank you, Sister-in-law.”

Wan Ruhua was straightforward: ”It’s just a simple meal; don’t worry about it. Besides, we need to have lunch too.”

Since she’d said so, Yunyi didn’t insist anymore: ”Then, Sister-in-law, I’ll come over later and help you out.”

Wan Ruhua agreed with a smile and headed back to her yard.

After seeing her leave, Yunyi pulled Jingrui inside and took out two pieces of smoked fish from her space: ”It’s not right to go empty-handed for a meal, how about bringing these two smoked fish?”

Huo Jingrui nodded: ”These smoked fish are not too big, two pieces are just right.”

Seeing he agreed, Yunyi said: ”Alright, you organize the stuff. I’ll head over to help Sister-in-law Lü with the dumplings.”

She was planning to talk to Sister-in-law Lü to learn more about the situation at the residential area since Huo Jingrui, being a man, might not be familiar with it.

Huo Jingrui had chosen this place because Sister-in-law Lü was easy to get along with: ”Sure, Sister-in-law Lü is straightforward; you’ll definitely get along.”

Yunyi carried the smoked fish to the Lü family next door: ”Sister-in-law Lü, I’m here.”

Wan Ruhua came out with a smile, seeing what Yunyi was carrying: ”Oh my, why did you bring smoked fish over?”

Yunyi smiled: ”I smoked these fish myself, just adding a dish. Sister-in-law, please don’t mind.”

Seeing Yunyi’s sincerity, Wan Ruhua couldn’t refuse: ”Look at what you’re saying, why would we mind such good stuff?”

The two of them laughed and chatted as they went into the kitchen.
