Cultivation Struggles of a Lowly Fox

Li Xiu came over to Grandmaster. ”I have heard that the Fox Village disappeared...” She narrowed her eyes and observed any of his subtle movements.

”That’s right.” The Grandmaster didn’t conceal anything, since he was still planning to take his flying ship to meet them.

Considering the energy of the Fox Grandmaster, she should be on her way to the Nightmare Forest, but it would be difficult to find them once they enter, so he should hurry.

’I can’t believe that she let me spot her energy... did she figure out something like this would happen?’ He narrowed his eyes before turning towards the Saintess.

”Are they fine?” Li Xiu believed that the ones in danger would be anyone who would try to invade that place, but she still had to ask as it weighed on her mind.

”They should be?” He didn’t know, but since his friend’s energy was moving smoothly, she should be fine.

”I wonder what they are up to this time...” Li Xiu pondered before turning around.

”Alas, youngsters these days.” He shook his head, but he liked their enthusiasm. Learning about anything outside the safety of their Sect would allow them to expand their horizons and prevent any mishaps.

...

Li Xiu ran down her mountain to meet a certain person. The one that encountered Aiko the most.

”What is it this time?” The girl was immediately on guard, shaking her dice.

”I’m not here to drag you away.” Li Xiu felt hurt from that reaction, so she had to immediately defend herself.

”Yet.” Bai Jing snorted unhappily. This would not be the first nor last time the Saintess lied to her about this.

”Alright, I really needed help that time, can you please forgive me.” Li Xiu sighed. She didn’t want to do that mission alone so she picked Jing to come with her.

Bai Jing rolled her eyes. ”As if.” She didn’t like the outside world since it had too many variables.

Fortunately her divination progressed greatly thanks to the Jade Stone that Aiko gave her.

’I should return it, since I have studied it enough.’ This would cause a heavy burden on her, since something like this could not just be found.

Revealing anything about divination caused ripples in one’s Cultivation Path, locking them from progressing.

So finding something like the Jade Stone that Aiko gave her was pretty much impossible.

’I have no idea how I will repay this.” Bai Jing sighed, shaking her head.

”I just wanted to ask you to divine something.” Li Xiu pursed her lips.

”That Fox is fine, now stop bothering me.” Bai Jing shooed her away, since she knew that Li Xiu is quite unruly.

”Huh?” Li Xiu was surprised. ”And why did you divine it~?” She had that ’know it all’ smirk, which always pissed off Bai Jing.

”Should I divine your ’days’ and spread them around?” Bai Jing threatened her, since she was quite fed up with this girl.

”Whoa-” Li Xiu immediately took a step back. ”I just wanted to ask you, no need to be so pissy about it.”

”Language.” Bai Jing clicked her tongue before closing the doors behind her, leaving Li Xiu outside.

”She would be a lot prettier if she smiled.” Li Xiu nodded her head slowly, but then a pan hit her head.

”You are not leaving.” Bai Jing peeked her head outside, a knife in her hand.

”Okay, okay, I’m leaving!” Li Xiu immediately booked it.

Well, it was obvious why she was acting like that, since Bai Jing lost one of her dice while they were on the mission. This caused her divination to stagnate for time, making her very upset.

’I will find another set for her.’ Li Xiu was very curious about Bai Jing, since she was one of the strangest Disciples and also reminded her of Aiko...

’But those cost so much...’ Li Xiu sobbed as she looked at her Storage Ring, pretty much empty of any wealth.

’Shouldn’t have bought so many clothes.’ Li Xiu nodded her head, but she was very happy that her Master was doing fine, so she was paying for everything to make her even happier.

’Alas, time for more missions.’ Now that she knew that Aiko was fine, she didn’t need to think about the missing Fox Village. It was obvious what happened. Aiko took it with her, so that normal Cultivators wouldn’t be able to profit from raiding the Fox Village.

-----

Bai Jing closed the doors behind her and sighed. She was divining daily, small things that wouldn’t harm her body nor mind. Just enough to steadily progress on her path.

’The Fox Village was moved. They are moving towards a Forest.’ Bai Jing’s divination differed greatly from other Divination Cultivators.

She would always divine things vaguely and then piece them together.

Thanks to that the ’price’ for the information pretty much plummeted, making divination completely safe as long as one was not stupid.

’The dream turns into... Nightmare Forest?’ Bai Jing slowly figured out and sorted her divinations.

Gathering information was important, but piecing them together was even more important. That was also why she never associated with the other Divination Cultivators, much less Saintesses.

They were all too stupid and always believing that divinations should be taken on face value without a second though.

’Place in flames, ships drowning...’ Bai Jing blinked a few times. It seemed like the Fox Village experienced the invasion, but was able to ’sink’ all the flying ships successfully. The Fox Village burned, shrinking in size, that means there were a lot of dead bodies.

’Fox-’ Bai Jing read the next divination and suddenly pinched her nose bridge. ’Why...’

The divination said: Fox took everything that was nailed down.

That was the only clear divination, which made her quite upset.

’So Aiko really took the whole Fox Village with her.’ Bai Jing nodded her head slowly, but she still couldn’t believe it. Nobody had enough continental flying ships to move a whole Sect and it was not like there were only few Foxes in that place.

’Foxes turned into squished fish...?’ Bai Jing tilted her head. She couldn’t understand this one, so she divined a bit more.

’Ah... I see...’ Bai Jing slowly nodded her head. ’The Foxes are huddled on the flying ship.’

That was unexpected, but also expected. There was no way that Aiko would leave them behind, so this was a light price to pay.

’Foxes running away. Stabbing backs...’ Bai Jing turned around. It seemed like the Fox Village was cleaned of the rotten fruit, making it cleaner and stronger.

’It will take some time, but I’m thankful.’ Bai Jing smiled softly. Thanks to Aiko’s absurd nature, she was able to divine a lot, making her progress very smoothly, almost without complications if she didn’t consider the Saintess...

”Oh, right.” Li Xiu returned to the Grandmaster. ”I have some food. May I ask the estee-”

”Stop it. Don’t do this fancy shit if you want to make me your errand boy.” The Grandmaster shuddered every time her eloquent tongue moved.

”Thank you~” Li Xiu smiled from ear to ear.

”I never said I would do it.” The Grandmaster glared at her.

”A-” Li Xiu wanted to convince him, but he immediately shut her up.

”Fine, fine. Just keep your mouth closed, you rascal.” He took the Storage Ring from her and transferred the insides. There were quite a few delicacies, making him surprised where they come from.

”Thank you~” Li Xiu hummed. With this, Aiko wouldn’t be able to forget her, but since most of the Sect was also moving, it would be difficult to find Aiko any time soon on the mainland...

-----

Moon Aiko sneezed.

”Are you sick?” The Foxes around her turned towards her.

”There is too much dust inside here.” Moon Aiko sneezed again. The Foxes were great at building things, but the same couldn’t be said about cleaning things.

”Alright. You will learn how to clean things.” Moon Aiko sneezed again. She was quite fed up with this situation and immediately crawled back outside as fast as possible.

When she was outside she immediately picked some cloth and buckets. ”Better start now.” She smiled like a devil and the Foxes quivered.

”W-we will do it later.” One Fox gestured, but when they saw that the Vicious Jade Fox kept smiling...

”W-we will do it now.” The Foxes timidly nodded their heads and took the cloth with the buckets that were filled with strange water.

Mei nudged her gently. ”You didn’t use the Light-Water, right?” She didn’t want to believe that Aiko would be so wasteful.

”Of course not.” Moon Aiko shook her head. ”I used my Spiritual Water to create it.”

Mei facepalmed, but it was not like she could stop Aiko, since this would also help the Spiritual Water to progress and keep itself clean.

”What?” Moon Aiko snorted unhappily. She didn’t use anything that was limited in its number or size, so everything should be fine.

The Foxes inside chatted happily, so Moon Aiko was also happy.

”Cleaning with Spiritual Water...” Mei almost coughed up blood, but she was able to hold it in.

”First time?” Danji smiled from ear to ear seeing her suffer like this.

”You want to go?” Mei snorted at her and slid up her sleeve.

”We can.” Danji chuckled, taking out her weapons.

”If you want to go at it, there is a bedroom nearby.” Moon Aiko proclaimed innocently, making both of them choke.

”Aiko!”

”Aiko!”

They shouted in unison.

”What? It’s not good if you are too pent-up.” Moon Aiko tilted her head.

Their faces boiled red. They didn’t expect Aiko to be so... No, they should’ve expected that she would do something like that if they bicker in front of her, but in the heat of the moment they couldn’t help themselves...

”It’s fine, it’s fine.” Moon Aiko patted both of them knowingly. ”Just use protec-”

Moon Aiko immediately booked it and started running when they pulled out their paper fans, trying to punish Aiko for her mouth.

The other Demonic Foxes observed, munching on some snacks that they took from within the tails before they were kicked out.

Everyone enjoyed this peace and happiness, looking forward to what the future would bring them...
