Reincarnation Of The Strongest Sword God

Chapter 3916 - Chapter 990 - Sundered Sky

Chapter 990 – Sundered Sky

....
“Guild Leader Black Flame?” South Lake’s words stunned Apocalypse. “Great Commander, are you sure you’re not mistaken?”

The current situation in the Flame Dragon God’s Nest was completely different from when Zero Wing was still partnered with the various pseudo-apex powers.

The Primordial Dragon Sanctuary’s pseudo-apex powers had initially been willing to partner with Zero Wing only out of respect for and fear of Dragon’s Crown, a suspected hidden apex power. Otherwise, even if Zero Wing had redeemed the Access Key, the various pseudo-apex powers would have tried various means to occupy the secret land.

Now that the Nebula Consortium had conveyed its intention to persecute Zero Wing to the various pseudo-apex powers, it no longer mattered whether an apex power backed Zero Wing. The various pseudo-apex powers no longer had to concede to Zero Wing. This was also why they dared to have designs on the Flame God Set.

If Shi Feng dared to redeem the Flame God Set, the various powers would not treat him as courteously as before.

“Have a look yourself,” South Lake said, pointing at a cloaked figure in the middle of the treasury plaza.

When Apocalypse looked at the cloaked figure South Lake indicated, he instantly recognized the other party as Shi Feng. After all, Shi Feng hadn’t bothered to hide his appearance. Anybody who had met him before would recognize him.

“Is he crazy?” Apocalypse was stunned.

Apocalypse did not doubt that Shi Feng had the Undying Souls to redeem the Flame God Set. After all, Shi Feng had already shown himself capable of obtaining many Undying Souls within a short period when he previously redeemed the Access Key and Empress’s Scales. Hence, Apocalypse didn’t find his having collected enough Undying Souls to redeem the Flame God Set strange.

What Apocalypse hadn’t anticipated was for Shi Feng to boldly come and redeem the Flame God Set by himself.

The treasury plaza wasn’t particularly large. Not to mention, there were only several hundred players in the plaza right now. With just a glance, anyone could see that Shi Feng was the only player not sporting the Guild Emblem of a Primordial Dragon Sanctuary pseudo-apex power.

Now that Shi Feng was trapped in the plaza, he was at the mercy of Tarnished Wind. After all, even a Level 240 Ancient God would need some time to break out of a Great Grandmaster War Barrier.

“Sure enough, this young man is still too ignorant,” South Lake said, shaking his head as he watched Tarnished Wind approach Shi Feng with the Crimson Dragon Legion. “He thinks he can run rampant in the Greater God’s Domain just because he has an apex power backing him. He has no idea that there are existences that even apex powers fear in this world.”

“Should we intervene?” Apocalypse asked when he saw Tarnished Wind’s forces encircling Shi Feng.

Since the threat of Dragon’s Crown was no longer a concern, Tarnished Wind would not hesitate to attack Shi Feng. With the Crimson Dragon Legion mobilized, only Holy Dragon Spear had the forces necessary to get Shi Feng out of this situation.

As Zero Wing and Holy Dragon Spear were formerly partners and Shi Feng was someone Red Frost thought highly of, Apocalypse naturally couldn’t stand by and watch as Tarnished Wind killed him.

“Of course, but not immediately,” South Lake said, shaking his head. Then, while looking at Shi Feng, he continued, “We might be able to save him this time, but we can’t save him all the time. He needs to experience some suffering and learn that pseudo-apex powers aren’t easy opponents.”

“You’re right.” Apocalypse nodded in agreement. He similarly felt that Shi Feng needed to experience defeat. Otherwise, Shi Feng might fall under the illusion that there were no powerhouses in the Greater God’s Domain and that he could do whatever he wanted so long as he had Dragon’s Crown’s backing.

Apocalypse was familiar with the name of Black Flame. As the sixth-ranked expert on the updated Divine Glory List, Shi Feng could be considered an apex expert. Under normal circumstances, the various pseudo-apex powers would try to avoid antagonizing him, even more so if they knew of his backing.

However, now that Zero Wing had made an enemy out of the Nebula Consortium, Shi Feng would be dreaming if he thought his status as the sixth-ranked player on the Divine Glory List could get Tarnished Wind to back off.

…

Over at the treasury plaza, the situation played out as South Lake and Apocalypse had anticipated. Tarnished Wind did not show any fear when he stood before Shi Feng. There was even a hint of excitement in his eyes.

“It’s true! You really did redeem the Flame God Set!” exclaimed Tarnished Wind, who was Level 241, as he stared at the Flame God Set under Shi Feng’s Black Cloak. As if the Black Cloak was fake, it could not hide any secrets from him. Then, he demanded, “Guild Leader Black Flame, hand over the Flame God Set, and I will promise you safe passage out of the secret land! Otherwise, I will have you disappear from God’s Domain, even if you have the Flame God Set equipped!”

“Commander Wind, are you so confident you can defeat me?” Shi Feng looked at Tarnished Wind in surprise.

In his previous life, the Flame God Set was regarded as one of the Six Great Divine Sets of the human race’s Greater God’s Domain. Although the players of this timeline had yet to witness its might, some of its information could still be found in the Grand Library. According to the Grand Library’s records, the Flame God Set could grant its wearer strength to rival Primordial Gods.

Even though he was only Level 233 right now, he was already strong enough to overpower the average Level 240 player.

“Naturally,” Tarnished Wind answered confidently. “Had it been any other Divine Set, I would be powerless against you. But I know that unless equipped by the Flame Dragon God’s Legatee, the Flame God Set will only be on par with Fragmented Divine Sets. Not to mention, you’re only Level 232. I might have feared you slightly had you been Level 240, but in your current state, you are unqualified to stand against me. So, hand over the Flame God Set or die!”

After saying so, Tarnished Wind, who was eight meters tall, swung his gigantic war hammer at Shi Feng.

The moment the war hammer moved, all players in the treasury plaza felt it dragging the surrounding space along. It was as if Tarnished Wind was swinging a miniature world at Shi Feng, his attack causing the space within the plaza to distort heavily.

“Dammit!” South Lake’s expression turned serious at this turn of events.

As for Apocalypse, he unsheathed the Divine Saber he carried and dashed forward.

As the successor of Red-Tailed Dragon, the second strongest pseudo-apex power in the Primordial Dragon Sanctuary, Tarnished Wind had risen to fame long ago. When he was still at Level 230, he had shocked the Primordial Dragon Sanctuary by surviving several minutes against a Level 235 Ancient God despite being equipped with only a Divine War Hammer and Fragmented Divine Artifact-ranked equipment. He could accomplish this astonishing feat because of World Hammer, a technique he had developed by fusing two Advanced Gold Combat Techniques.

Now that Tarnished Wind was Level 241 and fully equipped with Divine Artifacts, even the Level 240 old monsters of the Primordial Dragon Sanctuary’s pseudo-apex powers would not dare to receive his World Hammer lest they get one-shotted.

“This move is quite powerful,” Shi Feng commented, marveling at Tarnished Wind’s attack. Then, he unsheathed the Shadow Incinerator and continued, “But it’s still not enough to defeat me!”

Pseudo-Tier 7 Skill, Absolute Thunder!

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning sundered the sky, piercing the War Barrier and streaking tens of thousands of yards away from the Flame Dragon God’s Treasury. As the lightning faded, Tarnished Wind stared dumbfounded at his missing arm and HP bar, which had fallen by over 50%.
