Chapter 987 – Astonishing Wealth

....
“Are you sure you’re not joking?”

“How can a measly 10,000 slots sell for over 40,000 God Crystals and seven million bottles of Life Potion? Which power is behind such a crazy stunt?”

“What? A bunch of independent players and adventurer teams bought them? Since when have independent players and adventurer teams been so wealthy?”

As news of the auction’s outcome spread, the various powers that had expected the auction to become a joke found themselves questioning reality.

God Crystals were incredibly precious in the Greater God’s Domain. Even pseudo-apex powers didn’t necessarily have 40,000 God Crystals in their possession. Not to mention, who would pay upwards of 1,000 bottles of Life Potion just for one month of priority entry into a Guild City? With that many Life Potions, one could pay for one month of access to a special-tier mobile city.

When the various powers’ executives learned of this crazy behavior, they felt that either they or the buyers had lost their minds.

While the various powers were floundering over the auction’s outcome, they finally received information regarding the primordial civilization city, which triggered a mental breakdown.

The primordial civilization city was connected to an unknown human Realm where multiple apex powers existed. Players of this Realm could level up to Level 240 without relying on Taboo Secret Lands, making it a leveling paradise. Furthermore, many of this Realm’s powers were trading Level 235-plus Taboo Epic Equipment and Level 240 Taboo Fragmented Legendary Equipment for Combat-ranked Secret Treasures and Extraordinary-ranked Secret Treasures, respectively, in the primordial civilization city at a one-to-one ratio.

With direct access to such an incredible Realm, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to consider the primordial civilization city a cradle for nurturing powerhouses. This discovery tempted the various powers, making them hesitate over whether they should develop in the primordial civilization city.

However, the Nebula Consortium’s influence ultimately made the various powers give up on moving into the primordial civilization city—at least for now. As for their reasoning, it was simple.

Firstly, the Nebula Consortium would not be happy with them should they cave in so readily. With how crowded the primordial civilization city was, they’d have to obtain its priority entry slots if they wanted to establish a long-term presence there. But if they were to compete for the priority entry slots, they’d definitely use the more readily available Life Potions rather than the more precious God Crystals. In that case, they’d be defying the Nebula Consortium. This would likely earn them the consortium’s ire.

Secondly, the priority entry slots were too expensive. Once the craze over the primordial civilization city settled down a few days later, the price of the priority entry slots would fall. Hence, it would be wiser for them to bide their time. Their patience could also be taken as a show of respect for the Nebula Consortium, so the consortium shouldn’t mind it too much if they were to compete for the priority entry slots a few days later.

For these reasons, the various powers decided to wait a few days before sending their geniuses and paragons to develop in the primordial civilization city. In any case, even if the independent players and adventurer teams got a head start, a few days wouldn’t be enough for them to catch up to the various powers’ geniuses and paragons.

Not to mention, with the various powers boycotting Zero Wing together, Zero Wing would be without support out in the fields. Even if Zero Wing no longer lacked Life Potions, its guild members would still suffer severe losses because of Evil Nature’s bounty. Allowing Zero Wing’s wounds to fester for a few days would make negotiating a partnership with Zero Wing much easier later on.

Simply put, they could kill three birds with one stone by being patient for a few days.

…

Primordial civilization city, Zero Wing’s Residence, Guild Leader’s Office:

While the various powers were discussing how to get Zero Wing to give them more priority entry slots, Blackie excitedly reported the auction’s outcome to Shi Feng.

“Guild Leader, we made a total of 42,164 God Crystals and 7.34 million bottles of Life Potion from today’s auction! That’s nearly as many God Crystals as we got from Evil Nature’s treasury!” Blackie couldn’t help being ecstatic as he looked at the financial statement in his hand. “Excluding those leased today, the primordial civilization city still has 290,000 priority entry slots. If we subsequently sell 10,000 slots once every three days and leave 200,000 slots for ourselves, we can make at least 400,000 God Crystals and 70 million bottles of Life Potion a month! If converted to Star Coins, 70 million bottles of Life Potion is equivalent to 2.1 trillion Star Coins! With this many Star Coins, we’ll be fine even if we expand Zero Wing’s internal member count by tenfold!”

“We earned that much?!” Shi Feng was astonished.

Even if he added all the money Zero Wing had made in his previous and current lives, the total would not come anywhere close to 2.1 trillion Star Coins. Not to mention, the 2.1 trillion Star Coins did not include the God Crystals earned in the auction.

Originally, Shi Feng was quite troubled about his decision to sponsor Holy Dragon Spear. Even if he could come up with the 90 billion Star Coins and 15 million bottles of Life Potion needed, it would take him a month to get everything ready. But now, even if Holy Dragon Spear’s expenditure were to double, Zero Wing could easily afford it. The sale of the primordial civilization city’s priority entry slots was even more profitable than robbing Evil Nature.

“But I’m not sure we can maintain this high income for long. As we release more slots, the average price of each slot will likely decrease. Moreover, as both sides’ demand for Secret Treasures, Taboo Weapons, and Taboo Equipment is met, demand for the priority entry slots will also decrease,” Blackie sighed. “The mainstream players on our side catching up to the remnant primordial world’s players in levels would be the final nail in the coffin.”

“You don’t have to worry about that,” Shi Feng said, chuckling. “Trade between the two sides might decrease over time, but I assure you that the number of players on our side trying to get into the remnant primordial world will only increase over time. Furthermore, I still have a trick up my sleeve.”

The remnant primordial world’s true value lay in its Level 240-plus resources. It was just that the Eternal Realm’s players had yet to explore and understand the remnant primordial world, regarding it as no more than a slightly special Level 240 secret land. Once they entered the remnant primordial world, they would naturally learn about the Level 245 Taboo Team Dungeons and the Level 245 Taboo Legendary Weapons and Equipment the Dungeons produced. At that time, the entirety of the human race’s Greater God’s Domain would probably go crazy.

“You still have a trick up your sleeve?” Shi Feng’s confidence confused Blackie. He couldn’t understand what more the primordial civilization city had to offer—other than trade and leveling resources—that could attract the players of both sides.

“From tomorrow onward, auction this thing through the Abyss Chamber of Commerce. Auction one every three days. Only Level 245 Taboo Legendary Equipment and Fantasy-ranked Secret Treasures can be used as bids,” Shi Feng said, handing Blackie about a dozen Advanced Divine Strengthening Scrolls. It had taken him several hours just to produce this small stack. “With this thing, we don’t have to worry about the primordial civilization city lacking visitors.”

“I’ll get it done right away!” Blackie accepted the Advanced Divine Strengthening Scrolls, feeling elated when he realized what Shi Feng was aiming to achieve.

By selling Advanced Divine Strengthening Scrolls through only the Abyss Chamber of Commerce in Luminous Sky City, Zero Wing could increase the interaction between the Eternal Realm and the remnant primordial world.

Firstly, since the Advanced Divine Strengthening Scrolls were sold in the Eternal Realm’s Luminous Sky City, the remnant primordial world’s powers would have to interact with the Eternal Realm to obtain the scrolls. As for the Eternal Realm’s powers, although they could bid on the Advanced Divine Strengthening Scrolls using Fantasy-ranked Secret Treasures, they would need the remnant primordial world’s Level 245 Taboo Legendary Equipment to use the scrolls on.

After Blackie left the room, Shi Feng retrieved the Abyss Workshop Certification from his bag and teleported to the Flame Dragon God’s Nest, intending to redeem the Flame God Set.
