Realized Game: I Hoarded 10 Billion Defense Towers

WHOOSH.

Shen Fei stared at the Black Spade A for a few seconds before quickly averting his gaze. With the fifth game ability inheritance currently underway, this special item was sure to solidify again with the version update and grant another use. However, since last week, the version update had been lagging about an hour behind the ability inheritance. The game ability inheritance had only just begun, while the version update hadn’t started yet. Therefore, the continued growth of the Black Spade A would have to wait a little while longer.

WHOOSH.

After looking at the Black Spade A, Shen Fei immediately opened the Forum to check on the monster tides in various regions. Although the hundreds of new Neutral Cities he had built across the territory of Great Xia this past week were free of Monster Nests and wouldn’t spawn monster tides, the same was not true for the older cities. The previously established Neutral Cities—those where the Monster Nests hadn’t been destroyed—would still spawn massive tides at this moment of game ability inheritance. If any city couldn’t hold out, he would still need to intervene.

Hm? What the— More people than monsters?

However, when he opened the Forum and saw the situation, Shen Fei was stunned. The situation was completely different from a week ago and nothing like what he had expected. This time, it wasn’t a case of the monster tides being unstoppable and requiring his assistance. Instead, ever since the fifth game ability inheritance began, a situation had emerged where there were far more people than monsters. There simply weren’t enough monsters to fight.

Shen Fei saw that ever since all of humanity had received personal panels, everyone had become a player, and all of them possessed Extraordinary Abilities. Following the last update to version 4.7, the vast majority of players had their Experience Bars unlocked, gaining the ability to get experience from killing monsters. Once they could gain experience and level up this way, everyone’s first thought was, of course, how to level up as quickly as possible. Previously, people had been excitedly forming parties to kill monsters in the wild and clearing all sorts of experience-granting Secret Realms.

Now, at the moment the monster tides arrived, these tides—which could be killed for experience, even if at a reduced rate—sent everyone into a frenzy.

Not only did every player in the Neutral Cities where monster tides spawned climb the city walls and prepare to fight, but many players from other cities, if they had the means, were also rushing toward the Neutral Cities with monster spawns. These players who rushed over claimed they were there to help defend against the monster tide, but in reality, they all wanted to take the opportunity to ”steal” monster kills for experience.

After all, with the monster tide’s arrival, grinding monsters was just too convenient. Players not only had the protection of the City Shield and the city walls, but more importantly, they didn’t even have to look for the monsters. The monster tide erupted, and countless monsters, packed densely together, charged directly at the city. The players just had to stand on the walls and mindlessly kill them.

A scene like this was like being handed free experience, and everyone loved it.

Before, people didn’t have the ability to gain experience from killing monsters. Now that they had this ability, everyone was proactive and enthusiastic, even starting to fight over advantageous positions on the walls to get more experience. The monster tides, which were originally a ”disaster” for the major cities, had directly become an ”advantage” after the Experience Bars were unlocked. Countless monsters were killed halfway to the walls by the ravenous players before they could even get close.

Through the Forum, Shen Fei saw that the Neutral Cities with Monster Nests and monster tides had now become a hot commodity. After it was confirmed that players from other cities could also gain experience by killing the monsters from the tides, countless players began submitting residency applications, wanting to live in cities with monster tides. This way, every time a monster tide erupted, they could get in on this wave of ”welfare” monster grinding.

Not bad...

Shen Fei couldn’t help but smile. On the Forum, no one was asking for help anymore. Instead, there were only posts requesting to join cities, get experience, and fight monsters. The ravenous players were holding back all the monster tides. He had actually anticipated a scene like this; he had intentionally left the Monster Nests intact for the very purpose of grinding them for experience. However, for it to become this wildly popular was a bit beyond his expectations.

SWISH!

He placed a Defense Tower and controlled it to remotely annihilate a small section of the monster tide on the outskirts of Qing City. Shen Fei saw that his own experience could no longer increase by a single point due to the mandatory quest at level 200. As for this monster tide, whether in terms of the number of people defending or the experience to be gained, he had no reason to intervene anymore.

WHOOSH.

With the monster tide no longer his concern, Shen Fei’s gaze drifted to the bustling Forum. The hottest threads had originally been those celebrating and spreading the word about the hundreds of new Neutral Cities established in Great Xia. The Great Xia players who knew Shen Fei had built the Neutral Cities were all fervently discussing ”Skyrocketing.”

Now, with the eruption of the monster tide, and after everyone confirmed that the massive tides were also sacred grounds for experience farming, the buzz surrounding Shen Fei rose to another level.

”Brother Chongtian is so farsighted!”

”Brother Chongtian really is the world’s number one player!”

”Thank God our city followed Brother Chongtian’s example and didn’t destroy the Monster Nest! This isn’t a monster spawn point; it’s a total gift!”

Countless players in cities where the Monster Nests still existed voiced their excitement.
