Realized Game: I Hoarded 10 Billion Defense Towers

”What the hell!!”

”This is cheating!!”

”Damn it!! I regret this!!”

”Why the hell isn’t Cyan God coming to us!!!”

”This is favoritism!! It’s not fair!!!”

”Why is Cyan God only going to the settlements centered around these five cities?!”

”There are Neutral Cities in other places too!”

”It’s unfair!! Great Xia has 19 Neutral Cities!!”

”Besides the cities in these five locations, there are another five cities!!”

”Are the people in those five cities not people?!”

”Cyan God, please save my sorry ass!!!”

On the Forum, as the number of settlements saved by Shen Fei grew and more information was released, it didn’t take long for players in other settlements—those centered around Neutral Cities where Shen Fei hadn’t placed a Teleportation Array—to start feeling that things were completely unfair. They were agitated, salty, and envious.

Why did they have to work so hard, bracing themselves for injury or even death just to fight off the monster tide? Why could the places saved by Cyan God kill monsters so easily, so safely, and so effortlessly? Even worse, in places like Divine Capital and Qing City—which were facing fourteen and thirty-two monster tides respectively—Cyan God visited so frequently that many players were just kicking back and chilling, starting livestreams to chat instead of fighting monsters. This immediately made many people feel it was completely unfair.

Unfortunately, their sense of injustice was useless. Shen Fei only had five Teleportation Arrays; he couldn’t build any more.

The good news was that these places had managed to capture Neutral Cities in the first place, which meant they had some strength of their own. Therefore, despite being full of complaints, they could still fend off the monster tides. It was tough, but at least they weren’t in a situation where they were being completely steamrolled.

WHOOSH.

WHOOSH.

WHOOSH.

Another hour passed quickly. As for Shen Fei, the number of movable Defense Towers he had at his disposal had dwindled to just thirty. All the others had been placed by him in settlements facing monster tides.

However, once he was down to the last thirty Defense Towers, the number of his movable towers stopped decreasing. This was because he had reached the limit of settlements that both needed his help and that he was capable of saving. The rest either didn’t need his help or, due to geographical limitations, he was unable to save them.

WHOOSH.

WHOOSH.

WHOOSH.

With no new settlements to save, all Shen Fei had to do now was start his mindless farming rotation. He rapidly teleported between the cities and settlements. Then, he would instantly command the Defense Towers to annihilate the monsters, collect the experience, and teleport to the next location.

”Hm?”

A question surfaced in Shen Fei’s mind as he rapidly teleported and killed monsters, spending no more than thirty seconds in each location. Why am I only getting experience this time? Nothing’s dropping at all!

After grinding for so long, he had killed, if not ten billion monsters, then at least eight billion. Yet despite killing so many, aside from experience points, he hadn’t gotten a single item drop. Not from regular monsters, elite monsters, or even mini-bosses. He hadn’t obtained a single item. This was very strange and completely different from his previous experiences.

Is it because of the comprehensive data update in Version 4.2? Did they fix the bug—or let’s say, my ’special perk’—that made monsters drop items for me?

Or is it that this is the first full-scale monster tide of the finalized Version 4.1, and it’s just designed not to drop items?

Or is it some other reason?

One theory after another surfaced in his mind, but unfortunately, though he had his theories, he couldn’t be certain of the actual reason.

”Cyan God! Wait!!”

Shen Fei had just teleported to Songhai again. He annihilated the latest monster tide that had drawn near, having no time to deal with the aquatic one and simply killing whatever was in front of him. After fending off that wave, he was about to teleport away when one of Zhao Li’s girlfriends suddenly called out to him.

”What is it?” Shen Fei asked, surprised to be stopped.

”Cyan God, it’s Hang City!” she said. ”They can’t defend Hang City’s two cities! The director of the Hang City Tourism Management Office contacted the director of the Songhai Tourism Management Office, asking if Songhai could send players over to help! Also, they wanted to ask if you could help!!!”

The woman explained her reason for stopping him, much to Shen Fei’s surprise.

”Hm?” Of course, Shen Fei knew about Hang City, and he knew better than anyone what the deal was with its two Neutral Cities. Now, reminded by Zhao Li’s girlfriend, he recalled Hang City’s situation. Indeed, with their own strength, they couldn’t possibly defend the cities. They lacked the power to capture the cities, so naturally, they lacked the power to defend them. Hang City’s two cities had actually been captured by Shen Fei on a whim.

What Shen Fei found strange was that although the distance between Hang City and Songhai had increased by more than tenfold due to the planet’s expansion, they were still within 8,000 km of each other. He didn’t understand why they hadn’t asked him for help. If they had, he could have saved them simply by stepping through a Teleportation Gate Tower.

How strange!

He contacted Yu, who reported that there was indeed no request for help from Hang City on his list. Shen Fei rolled his eyes. Ask for help, don’t ask for help. Whatever.

He didn’t want to bother with Hang City’s bizarre behavior. He didn’t even want to ask why they hadn’t requested help.

”Whatever! You figure it out!” he replied to Zhao Li’s girlfriend. Then, he vanished in a flash, heading off to another settlement to clear monsters.
