Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2745: Chapter 2740: How Max-Level Inspiration Is Forged

[SAN Points +99]

No wonder everyone likes to use this number; it even sounds richer and more sophisticated than 100.

As it turns out, the warehouse wasn’t talking nonsense. With the umbilical cord swallowed, an astonishingly large number burst forth, and the SAN Points returned to three digits.

This item, which has repeatedly performed miracles, was consumed just like that, which seems a bit wasteful.

But research is like this, the investment is far higher than imagined.

Without any regret, Fu Qian surveyed the once-again silent Abandoned Prison.

I must say, even though it’s silent, it’s much better than when I first arrived.

The Vacuum Flowers solidified twice before and now totaled a lush three-digit number.

Along with the neatly arranged round platforms, it can be called a blend of natural beauty and cultural development, no longer the barren land it used to be.

So what about this time?

Fu Qian once again tied the ribbon to his face.

...

The flowers are in full bloom.

When he took down the Eldest Son’s Perspective in the silence again, Fu Qian was undoubtedly more satisfied with the scene before him.

On one hand, it was naturally the exaggerated increase in number.

The Vacuum Flowers, as expected, followed the SAN Points. Unlike the previous small-scale endeavors, this time the scale is exponentially larger.

With a glance, there were 177 more flowers just now.

But honestly, this was anticipated and not particularly special.

The biggest surprise in terms of visual effects is that apart from the increase in quantity, the lines of the Vacuum Flowers are much clearer, comparable to upgrading from standard to Blu-ray.

So is this really it? The essence of the SAN points...

This change seems to have finally validated Fu Qian’s inner speculation.

Not only does it represent a binding with the basic world rules, but the number itself also reflects the binding degree?

After the exponential surge in SAN Points, the more clearly reflected Vacuum Flowers provide a very intuitive explanation.

This even further reinforces the previous conclusion that the SAN Points represent a binding with the fundamental world rules, and it is explicitly measurable by numbers.

However, this number doesn’t represent the intuitive sense of rationality balance, but is more like a charged shield.

As long as it’s not depleted, there won’t be any threat to oneself.

Once it hits zero, a special immunity mechanism is triggered, leading to a violent backlash, comparable to a death curse.

While swallowing the umbilical cord, he considered if there would be any changes in this aspect, but the result was quite ideal.

Today’s test yielded considerable gains.

Based on this conclusion, the relationship between SAN Points and Inspiration, the two key parameters, seems even clearer.

...

Snap!

He snapped his fingers, and Fu Qian solidified all the Vacuum Flowers again while pondering a certain troublesome attribute of his recently.

[Increases perception ability towards intangible things]

This is how the warehouse initially described Inspiration.

Subsequent experiences did affirm this point. For example, on first meeting Su Gao in the old city, the Ritual Notes had ciphers only he could see.

Including issues about skill and equipment carrying in missions, he had tried to deduce that it was because his Inspiration was much higher than his predecessors, so it seemed as though there was no weight limit.

Logically speaking, if it were due to the SAN Points, which have fluctuated many times, often dropping below three digits, his carrying capacity still didn’t reach a limit, quite inconsistent.

Using the method of elimination, the greatest possibility seems to be the 99 Inspiration.

But why?

The connection between Inspiration and carrying weight seems abstract even in a game setting.

Now, combined with the definition of SAN Points and the aforementioned mutual pursuit, there seems to be a more vivid explanation—synchronization rate.

Yes, Inspiration isn’t merely extraordinary perception.

If SAN Points signify the binding of outsiders to the fundamental laws of the world, could Inspiration represent the extent of one’s synchronization back to touching this essence?

According to Goto Hi’s explanation, predecessors generally had low Inspiration, but it didn’t seem to impact their mission activities, including extraordinary perception.

When it came to him, the mission rewards for this parameter drastically increased, and the mission difficulty seemed higher as well.

Could it be that besides the warehouse deteriorating to a certain extent and the world being in ruins, his excessive initiative also played a part?

He handled more complex ”wounds” in history and touched more elements, so the immersion was higher, leading to such rewards?

With increased rewards, he further touched the deeper parts of the world.

Such as when he had 99 points of Inspiration, he discovered what could transform him into the Original Sin Sage from the remnants of the Divine Trait.

This is also a mutual pursuit process, where the warehouse’s chaos and his innate behavior rapidly created a maxed-out Inspiration account.

Such an account, upon synchronizing into a mission, due to its excessive alignment with the essence of the world, results in an extremely high synchronization rate, allowing him to bring more things beyond time and space...

However, it’s not without negative effects; the closer the proximity, the easier the injury.

Ultimately, his SAN Points became more susceptible to depletion, even after transforming into the Abandonment King, it’s still frequently reduced by 1.

So why did Inspiration stop increasing at 99? This seems to also have an explanation—

There is no such thing as 100 percent synchronization; 99 is already the limit.

He is always an outsider, ”synchronized” to this world through an alternative ”safety protocol” like SAN Points.

The invisible ceiling exists, even for the most outstanding.

Unless he chose another path in the Sea of Ashes, transforming into the Mechanical Tyrant of the Crystal Apocalypse.

...

Interesting, things seem more reasonable now.

With thoughts spinning, Fu Qian quickly attempted to formulate an explanation for the fundamental issues he always had.

If this explanation holds, it might even guide his current state.

Extraordinary Perception and Inspiration are relatively independent; perhaps the former was suppressed, causing his current dull senses.

Yet Inspiration has always remained, evidenced by his ability to carry the remarkable skill ”Abandonment King” without restriction in past missions.

Furthermore, there’s also the actions of Lord Pa Qi.

Why would there be such a ritual to defraud the warehouse?

It seems now that SAN Points are indeed a rare item, the specialty of the warehouse administrator.

Deceiver Pach wasn’t scheming for the conventional notion of rationality but for a resource conceptually linked with the basic world rules.
