Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 145: Chapter 144: Disorder (15)_1

Although she didn’t know why the Baroness was so frightened, her hysterical outburst still exhibited immense power.

Amidst the endless radiance, the overflowing light from all directions bombarded the headless Armor, producing a sound akin to a hammer striking iron.

The headless Armor was bombarded into continual retreat, and even the seemingly impenetrable armor was forcibly smashed and deformed.

Including the black fluid within the Armor, which also twisted and struggled under the bombardment.

Not knowing how long the bombardment lasted, the headless Armor was eventually smashed into a tangled heap, no longer showing the slightest movement. It was then that the Baroness collapsed on the ground, gasping for air.

“Don’t space out, there could be more!”

...
Fu Qian was coldly reminding her at that moment.

Before his words had faded, the sounds of two more landings came, and two dark figures jumped down.

I knew it, such a loud scream earlier, if there were other monsters, they would definitely be attracted.

Among the two dark figures that landed, one had the same Armor model, but holding a round hammer that seemed particularly heavy.

The other wore a coat similar to that of a Bishop, but its body was now swollen into a ball. With a long Scepter in hand, it was very much like a Fatty.

Not only that, but its body was wet all over and covered with large black areas.

As soon as the new Armor landed, it flung its hammer directly at the Baroness.

Fortunately, with Fu Qian’s warning, the Baroness swiftly regained awareness, narrowly dodging the hammer.

That hammer strike helped her fully regain her senses. Her arms waved continuously, trapping the opponent within circles of halos.

Fu Qian no longer had time to pay attention to her because the Fatty was targeting him.

The Fatty held the Scepter aloft, and thick shadows began to converge above it.

Without a sound, a basin-sized black sphere was hurled at Fu Qian’s face.

It’s best not to let it hit, that was Fu Qian’s first intuition.

Luckily, it wasn’t flying fast, and Fu Qian quickly dodged to the side. The sphere smashed into the stone wall nearby, corroding a large area instantly.

Whew!

The next moment, the Fatty, having missed its initial strike, ran straight toward Fu Qian, flinging its Scepter fiercely.

Are all mages close-combat fighters these days?

Seeing that the Scepter was also covered with a black shadow, Fu Qian once again dodged, refusing to take the blow head-on.

The next moment, a pale dragon’s head appeared out of thin air.

Taking hits passively was never our style.

The Fatty missed its attack and paused for a moment, Fu Qian decisively unleashed his full power.

The surging transparent breath instantly hit the Fatty.

The Fatty stood still, and immediately after, its body had a violent reaction.

Like being filled with boiled pitch, its body surface churned with large bubbles, its figure swelling into various shapes, its skin turning almost transparent.

Sensing something amiss, Fu Qian quickly picked up the shield of the Armor from before and held it in front of him.

The next moment, the Fatty’s body expanded to its limit, then exploded like a balloon, with ink-like body fluid splattering in all directions.

Clang!

As the impact subsided, Fu Qian tossed the shield aside.

The gilded surface of the shield had been corroded with holes.

Fortunately, due to the shield’s large size, not a drop had splashed onto him.

The other side was much more disheveled.

The Baroness had naturally seen everything on Fu Qian’s side, but unfortunately, she was busy dealing with the Armor and was not so free to act.

Eventually, sensing the bad situation, she barely enticed the Armor to turn its back towards the explosion, using its body to block the blast.

At that moment, another pale dragon’s head appeared, and the surging breath hit the Armor’s back.

Clang!

The sound of a heavy hammer hitting the ground echoed, and the latter slowly stopped moving, then disintegrated and scattered on the ground.

Watching the inside of the Armor warily, the Baroness found nothing else coming out. She took a long breath, her complexion extremely pale.

The successive unexpected battles had been greatly taxing on her.

“Is there a problem?”

Fu Qian stepped forward to ask.

After seeing that reaction to the tar pit, even a fool could tell that she knew something.

After taking several deep breaths, the Baroness looked up at Fu Qian with a voice that was nearly a sob.

“They have come!”

This was the first time he had seen this heroic woman show such a demeanor, and curiosity surged within Fu Qian as he pointed to the ground.

“What do you mean by ‘they’?”

“That horde of monsters that destroys everything… I never imagined they would finally find this place.”

The Baroness murmured as she looked at the corroding pit on the ground.

“What kind of monsters are they, to be so exaggerated?”

“Indescribable…”

The despair in the Baroness’s eyes seemed tangible.

“Do you know why the first group of people migrated here?”

“I once heard that they were not fleeing war or plague, but monsters that could bring endless chaos and distortion.”

“Each of these monsters was so powerful that it caused despair, capable of corroding and distorting everything, even inanimate objects.

It’s said that they could rend your soul by merely looking at you.

Even their very names are a pollution, bringing misfortune to those who know them.

A long time ago… the outside world had already been destroyed.”

The Baroness’s voice sounded like she was in a trance.

“Now they have found this place… Even though the way in was destroyed immediately, they still came…”

So this place was like The Peach Blossom Spring?

Learning this secret history for the first time, Fu Qian thought to himself.

If what the Baroness said was true, then this world was essentially an apocalyptic wasteland.

“Now it seems that the reason this place was abandoned might not have been solely due to rampant natural disasters.

Perhaps they had already noticed the signs and decided to leave decisively.”

The Baroness slowly gathered her thoughts.

“When I saw the Pustule Stone, I had a very bad feeling, and it turns out that the worst situation has happened.”

“Wait a minute!”

After muttering to herself for a while, the Baroness suddenly exclaimed and stood up quickly.

“The Pustule Stone appeared in the town, which would mean—”

“We must hurry back to tell the Priest about this!”

So this substance is the Pus of Man?

Fu Qian looked around at the corroded pits and recalled his mission.

If this substance was the Pus of Man, the volume of his work could far exceed expectations.

Just in this vicinity alone, there were no fewer than three infected targets.

And with most of this area covered in ice and snow, were there other infected ones within?

This was completely uncertain—was he expected to dig them out one by one to check?

Was the true nature of this task akin to the Foolish Old Man Moving the Mountains!?

Fu Qian felt thorough annoyance at this thought.

“It’s time to set off!”

With a goal in mind, the Baroness quickly rallied her spirits.

Just as she was about to move, she suddenly remembered the purpose of this visit.

“Right, is the key you carry reacting at all?”
