Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 918, Unity of Purpose

Translator: Silavin

This night was destined to be restless.

The next day, what happened within Feather Country shocked the entire world!

Five Families that held significant positions in Feather Country successively saw blood flow like rivers overnight, with not a single person surviving.

Moreover, the methods of death for these Families’ members were all very strange.

Some Families mysteriously killed each other.

For example, the Orel Family.

Someone said they had heard sounds of disturbance coming from the Orel Family, followed by sounds of combat that lasted for over two hours.

During this period, no one entered or left the Orel Family Residence.

Moreover, when Feather Country’s relevant agencies later investigated the case, they could indeed confirm that no outsiders had entered the Orel Family.

All the carnage was caused internally by the Orel Family.

For some unknown reason, everyone in this Family began killing each other, and in the end, no one survived.

Such a large Family collapsed overnight, with everyone dead.

Some said this was because someone in the Orel Family wanted to stage a rebellion, and after the matter was exposed, a brutal battle occurred within the Family.

However, others proposed different opinions, thinking that the Orel Family had always been stable before, and for someone to suddenly rebel without reason seemed implausible.

Moreover, in the battle between both sides, neither side achieved victory. Not even a pyrrhic victory. They all perished together and it completely destroyed the Family.

Thus, the probability of a rebellion was simply too small.

As for saying that someone was manipulating everything behind the scenes, that was even more sensational.

The Orel Family was a top-tier Force in Feather Country. Who could have the ability to manipulate the Orel Family’s people to fight each other internally and all perish together?

Everyone did not understand how mighty Ancient God Powers were, so they did not dare think in that direction at all, nor could they guess that the Orel Family’s annihilation in such a bizarre manner was actually the work of one person.

Moreover, this person had not even entered the Orel Family or any of their land. He merely scattered Ancient God Power from the air and easily accomplished this whole thing.

The Orel Family’s annihilation was already bizarre.

What was even more bizarre was that on the same night, another Family met the same fate.

Overnight, everyone in their Family Residence killed each other, with no trace of outsiders entering.

If it were just one Family dying strangely, that would be one thing. But for another powerful Force no less than the Orel Family to be gone as well made people’s hair stand on end.

Combining these two incidents, it was hard not to wonder if someone was behind it all.

No, saying ‘someone’ was no longer accurate.

Because the only ones who could accomplish this were essentially a Divine Being. In short, super experts at Level 120 or above.

For a time, all of Feather Country was in a state of anxiety.

Compared to the mystery case created by Jin Zhan, Lu Fan’s annihilation of three Families was much more low-key.

After all, Lu Fan’s method of annihilating the three Families was relatively discreet.

Two Families had established their Main Residence in the Wilderness, occupying quite good Map Resources.

For these Families, Lu Fan simply sent Bosses from his Fallen Corpse Puppet army to go and flatten them.

As for one Family, which was located in the city, Lu Fan dispatched Players to carry out the slaughter, creating the appearance of enemies seeking revenge.

Therefore, in outsiders’ eyes, these three Families were also annihilated overnight. However, their annihilation seemed more reasonable, unlike the Orel Family’s people who died so strangely.

Of course, afterwards some people brought up the annihilation of these three Families together with the other two Families for discussion.

Although the five Families died in different ways, for all of them to be annihilated overnight made it hard not to overthink things.

Moreover, these five Major Families had one thing in common: in Feather Country, they all belonged to the same faction. They were the ‘Pro-Ancient God Faction’ that wanted to find Ancient Gods and pledge allegiance to them in exchange for safety.

These five Families were pillars of that faction.

Now that the five Major Families had fallen, the Pro-Ancient God Faction could be said to have collapsed. Previously able to compete with the ‘Annihilate Ancient God Faction’, they now completely lost their ability to challenge them.

Therefore, many Families from the Pro-Ancient God Faction defected one after another. Their attitude towards Ancient Gods became ambiguous, no longer daring to mention pledging allegiance to the Ancient Gods. Instead, they now agree with Families like the Kodiak to eliminate the Ancient Gods.

At once, Feather Country’s originally fierce two-faction struggle suddenly calmed down, achieving unity of purpose.

At the same time, the Kodiak Family and its allied Families were rapidly gathering the resources of these five fallen Major Families, integrating them, strengthening themselves, and consolidating their control over Feather Country’s power even more firmly.

The Kodiak Family’s people gathered the five Major Families’ resources so quickly, clearly showing they had received some news in advance.

So, it was not hard to guess that the five Major Families’ overnight annihilation was definitely not an accident, but a power struggle.

The Annihilate Ancient God Faction had integrated the Pro-Ancient God Faction with overwhelming force and gained absolute power of control. This was the reality.

But so what if the people knew this was the reality of things?

Being able to annihilate the five Major Families overnight proved that the Annihilate Ancient God Faction’s strength far exceeded the Pro-Ancient God Faction’s.

The five Major Families were all dead. Who would still dare oppose the Annihilate Ancient God Faction?

Therefore, there were no more divisions within Feather Country’s decisions. They fully supported Dragon Country in finding Ancient Gods that had yet to awaken and eradicate them.

It could be said that with Lu Fan and Jin Zhan’s casual actions, they influenced the entire fate of Feather Country.

The Patriarch of the Kodiak Family, who now controlled greater power, in short Andrei’s Father, originally wanted to properly thank Lu Fan and Jin Zhan.

However, after finishing their business, the two left Feather Country without staying for long.

Because after killing the Darkness Ancient God, Lu Fan’s Level had already reached 120, allowing him to undergo his Fifth Profession Change.

After his Fifth Profession Change, he would gain more powerful Skills and more Ancient God Power, which would significantly enhance his strength.

After returning to Dragon Country, Lu Fan first had a remote conversation with Ouyang Bai Ge, asking her whether his Fifth Profession Change just required the normal procedure as Jin Zhan had told him, or if she needed to come and inscribe a unique Profession Change Array.

Ouyang Bai Ge smiled and answered Lu Fan that naturally, it was not necessary.

Now that Lu Fan was also an Ancient God. His understanding of the Ancient Gods was no less than hers.

Previously, she needed to inscribe the Profession Change Array simply because she was an Ancient God and had methods of seizing Divine Seats that Lu Fan did not know about.

But now that Lu Fan was also an Ancient God, naturally he did not need her guidance anymore.
