Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 906, Who Are You Calling an Old Dragon!?

Translator: Silavin

This was an attack on the Soul. Although it appeared not to cause too much harm to the Human body, the actual Damage was far more impossible to ignore than ordinary attacks.

After all, whether Magic Damage or Physical Damage, both could potentially be blocked by Defence.

But attacks on the Soul were like True Damage. There was no way to withstand them through any kind of Attribute or Skill.

These various negative emotions were a torment for Lu Fan, and equally so for Xing Chen. Although she still had her Starlight Armour active, allowing her to be Immune to all Damage, this does not include attacks on the Soul, which directly penetrates through Starlight Armour.

At the same time, Xing Chen was, after all, only a two-year-old Baby Dragon. She had experienced too few things.

In these two years, she had mostly followed Lu Fan. In the Pet Sub-Space where neither wind nor rain could touch her, she had practically zero tempering of her mental state.

Therefore, although Xing Chen was enormously powerful, facing such a terrifying attack, her resistance was even less than that of Lu Fan.

Lu Fan, having lived two lives, had experienced many things. He could only barely maintain his lucidity under the opponent’s attack without falling into madness.

Xing Chen could not withstand this pressure. At this moment, Starlight Armour directly shattered, and she began to struggle madly in mid-air, nearly throwing Lu Fan off.

Through their spiritual connection, Lu Fan wanted Xing Chen to calm down, but the other party simply could not receive Lu Fan’s commands or comfort.

Lu Fan could even feel Xing Chen’s current pain and confusion through their spiritual connection.

In this state, it would not be long before Xing Chen completely fell into a Frenzied state, possibly even permanently becoming a Mad Dragon.

Lu Fan, while trying hard to control Xing Chen, looked towards the Fourth Form of the Darkness Ancient God. [As expected of an Ancient God. To think it is capable of this!]

Lu Fan was gradually understanding the Darkness Ancient God’s Ancient God Power.

The opponent was worthy of being an Ancient God named with ‘Darkness’. Its Ancient God Power should be control over all the dark emotions in this world!

Those negative emotions like fear, anger, jealousy and so on were all its weapons.

This kind of power might indeed not be considered strong, unable to cause any substantial harm to others.

But this kind of negative emotion that people had no resistance against could allow it to disregard how strong the opponent was.

As long as the opponent was not strong mentally and spiritually, they would fall into those negative emotions, even having their consciousness completely destroyed!

Wasn’t the Darkness Ancient God itself a very good example of this?

At the beginning, it still possessed a level of rationality.

But later, as the Second, Third, and Fourth Forms were forced out by Lu Fan, unable to control its Ancient God Power well, after being forcibly beaten into its Fourth Form, its own consciousness had already been eroded by its own Ancient God Power.

The current Darkness Ancient God could no longer control its own Ancient God Power; its original consciousness had already been submerged.

Whether it could regain its consciousness was still unknown, but right now its Ancient God Power could no longer be controlled.

The black mist continuously overflowed. The Darkness Ancient God was Frenzied, releasing its darkness Ancient God Power wherever it could.

Not just Xing Chen. Pet Dragons like Bao Bao, Ye Sha, Lin Dong and others were also affected, currently falling into the same situation as Xing Chen.

As a Support Specialised Dragon, Xiao Cui was temporarily unaffected by this power because she was relatively far from the Darkness Ancient God’s position.

Seeing her Brothers and Sisters, and even Lu Fan, all affected by the opponent’s power, Xiao Cui was extremely anxious. Without needing Lu Fan’s command, she directly transformed into the Tree of Life, using Life Pulse to continuously pulse outward, wanting to clear away all the Negative Status Effects on everyone.

Unfortunately, the Tree of Life’s Skill Effect could indeed clear all Negative Status Effects. But the Darkness Ancient God’s power was not a Negative Status Effect in the traditional sense. Rather, it was a kind of power that directly influenced people’s emotions.

It had no representation on the Attribute Panel, just like when a person was angry or furious. After all, no one could soothe a person’s emotions through a Skill.

However, Xiao Cui’s Skills were not completely useless.

At least under the washing of Life Pulse, Lu Fan felt as if he were bathing in clear spring water; his body felt extremely comfortable.

Under this feeling, his emotions could stabilise somewhat.

Lu Fan knew that Xiao Cui could not resolve this problem.

Because in a while, when this power began to affect Xiao Cui, Xiao Cui would probably have difficulty maintaining her Tree of Life Form.

Moreover, the Pet Dragons one by one had extremely poor Resistance to this kind of negative emotion. If they continued to be influenced by this power, and some indelible aftereffects would be left behind, that would be troublesome.

In any case, his Pet Dragons could not be allowed to remain out here any longer.

Lu Fan immediately recalled all the Pet Dragons. Fortunately, although their emotions had fallen into chaos, they could still be forcibly recalled by Lu Fan.

After recalling all the Pet Dragons, a voice appeared in Lu Fan’s mind.

“You’re not planning to have me fight, are you?” This voice naturally came from the Devouring Dragon King.

Although she had not been summoned out, the Devouring Dragon King could see Lu Fan’s perspective. Naturally, she knew what Lu Fan was currently experiencing.

Lu Fan, forcibly enduring the impact of various negative emotions, gave a cheeky laugh. “Of course I am. You’re an Old Dragon that has lived for who knows how many years. This little bit of negative emotional influence shouldn’t have too much effect on you, right?”

“I’m truly sorry. Originally, I thought I could kill this Ancient God with my own strength. But it seems I still need you to help me out. So, I choose you, Devouring Dragon King!” Saying this, Lu Fan reached out to draw an Summoning Array, wanting to summon the Devouring Dragon King.

However, the Array took shape but did not light up.

In other words, the Devouring Dragon King refused to be summoned by Lu Fan.

This time, Lu Fan was dumbfounded.

He knew that the contract the Devouring Dragon King had signed with him was of equals, which meant that as long as the Devouring Dragon King was willing, she could indeed ignore him.

But Lu Fan had not expected the Devouring Dragon King would really ignore him!

[Big Sister, you can’t drop the ball at this moment!]

“Who are you calling an Old Dragon!?” The Devouring Dragon King’s dissatisfied voice rang out again, and in her tone there was also a bit of schadenfreude as she watched Lu Fan’s predicament.

“Me! I’m saying I’m an Old Dragon! I’ve been deaf since childhood! Okay?” Lu Fan felt helpless and could only admit defeat.
