Martial Cultivator

Two streams of sword qi collided within the sea of clouds, and the first thing affected was that vast stretch of clouds.

Countless wisps of cloud were torn apart in that instant, forced to scatter chaotically in all directions.

Yu Xiyi’s black hair was blown by the violent gale formed by sword qi. At this moment, the sword immortal no longer looked like a sword immortal, but more like a barbaric... martial artist.

After all, this kind of head-on clash that cared nothing for technique, seeking only to unleash all one’s strength, those who fought like this the most were martial artists.

Gritting his teeth, Yu Xiyi drew out all the sword qi within his qi palace.

At this moment, Yu Xiyi was just like the Sword Immortal Luting before him - both thinking that since this was to be the final strike, there was no need to hold back as usual. He might as well go all out for once.

But the old sword immortal in the end had been unable to make the Sword Sect’s Sect Master truly exert himself. But Yu Xiyi was different. When he unleashed his full strength, the Sword Sect’s Sect Master furrowed his brow. When he had sent out that sword, he had expected Yu Xiyi to be gravely injured by it. Of course, that would depend on the other’s own skill, if his skill was insufficient and he was killed by that sword, it would be his own fault.

But now, upon seeing it, the other party’s sword qi actually stood on equal footing with his own from the start. After a moment, he even felt that his sword was faintly being pushed back. Thus, he was forced to draw out another strand of sword qi from his body and pour it into that sword qi.

And this time, it truly became overwhelming.

If before it had merely been a heavy downpour, then by now that rain had become a torrential storm.

Countless raindrops formed from sword qi fell toward Yu Xiyi!

Looking closely, one could see that as those raindrops descended, they were torn apart by strands of sword qi. Each drop first split into two, then repeated the process again and again.

Countless raindrops fell, yet by the time any reached Yu Xiyi, they had already been weakened countless times. Even so, the azure robe on his body was now riddled with holes.

The Sword Sect’s Sect Master’s sword qi was simply too powerful. Even the faintest strands that fell upon Yu Xiyi were not something an ordinary sword cultivator could withstand.

Yu Xiyi let out a mocking laugh, spat out a mouthful of sword qi, and even grabbed a wisp of the Sword Sect’s Sect Master’s sword qi, slowly crushing it. In the end, he left only a single strand in his palm, rubbing it between his thumb and fingers. In just an instant, that sword qi tore his thumb open until it bled profusely.

Bone was even about to become visible.

Expressionless, Yu Xiyi crushed the final wisp of sword qi. Then, the last trace of sword qi within his body surged out violently.

It clashed once more against that torrential rain.

At some point, the Sword Sect’s Sect Master was already suspended in the air, gazing down upon Yu Xiyi with an almost condescending air.

Yu Xiyi raised his head and glanced at the Sword Sect’s Sect Master, tugged at the corner of his lips, then his whole body soared into the air as the flying sword Wild Grass in his hand swung continuously.

The torrential rain of sword qi before him was torn apart by a single swing, and then he arrived before the Sword Sect’s Sect Master.

The Sword Sect’s Sect Master looked at Yu Xiyi once and did not evade; holding the flying sword Autumn Water in his hand, he met the attack head-on.

Wild Grass and Autumn Water collided, and a tremendous sound instantly resounded between heaven and earth. The auras of the two sword immortals intertwined continuously, and the sword qi behind the Sword Sect’s Sect Master surged violently, colliding with Yu Xiyi’s sword qi.

Those two sword qi in the distance were still fiercely clashing, and the two here were the same.

The sounds of flying swords colliding rang out endlessly, sword qi scattered continuously, and the sword cultivators watching the battle all subconsciously retreated backward.

That sword qi was far too sharp, being too close, they could feel the terrifying aura within it.

Among them, a few unlucky ones whose cultivation was insufficient tried to move closer for a better look, but were struck by a stream of sword qi. Though their lives were not lost, they immediately spat out a mouthful of blood on the spot. ṛÃΝőBĘ𝐒

Judging from those injuries, once they returned, they would probably have to lie in bed for at least half a year.

Chen Chao watched the situation in the heavens with a smiling face. By now, he could no longer understand the subtleties within, but seeing Yu Xiyi’s attacks growing fiercer, and the Sword Sect’s Sect Master actually beginning to fall back, that alone was already something ordinary people could never achieve.

After all, the Sword Sect’s Sect Master had been invincible for so many years, when had such a situation ever occurred?

Chen Chao withdrew his gaze and looked to the side at Xu Bai. This sword cultivator, who had long made a name for himself in Yellow Dragon Prefecture, was now watching the heavens with full concentration. The flying sword behind his back was trembling slightly, yet Xu Bai remained completely unaware, his mind wholly immersed in that sword duel.

The sword qi within his body was circulating continuously at this moment, faintly carrying a different sensation.

Chen Chao knew that Xu Bai had reached a certain turning point, but whether he could break through today and become a Nepenthe sword immortal depended entirely on whether Yu Xiyi could defeat the Sword Sect’s Sect Master.

......

......

At this moment in the heavens, the sword qi within Yu Xiyi’s body was already empty, but the Sword Sect’s Sect Master was about the same, he consumed slightly more sword qi than Yu Xiyi because of the flying sword.

This flying sword Autumn Water was truly ordinary. Compared to Wild Grass, a Hundred Year Sword, the difference was simply too great.

Every time the two swords collided, if not for the Sword Sect’s Sect Master’s sword qi reinforcing it, Autumn Water would likely have been cut apart long ago.

However, even though Wild Grass was sharper, each clash brought a rebound of sword qi that left Yu Xiyi in pain.

The skin between his thumb and index finger had long since split open.

Blood dripped continuously.

But the fighting intent in his eyes only grew stronger, because he could tell that when the Sword Sect’s Sect Master struck again, it would certainly not be as powerful as the previous sword.

This was a sign of waning strength.

In truth, it could also be said that the Sword Sect’s Sect Master had reached his limit.

Although Yu Xiyi himself was not necessarily in a much better state, the current situation was a matter of endurance, whoever could hold on longer would be the one to prevail.

The Sword Sect’s Sect Master’s expression had already become somewhat solemn. From his initial indifference until now, he could clearly sense that although his opponent had yet to break through, his killing power was constantly growing.

At the start, the two had been evenly matched, perhaps even with him holding the advantage, but by now, his opponent was clearly above him.

This was the accumulation of momentum, and also because Yu Xiyi’s current cultivation was truly infinitely close to the end of Nepenthe.

The two crossed swords again. This time, the Sword Sect’s Sect Master was forced several steps back, while Yu Xiyi, after swaying in place for a moment, actually took a step forward.

He thrust out a sword.

It looked like an ordinary strike, yet the essence, energy, and spirit it contained were far beyond what Yu Xiyi at the start of this duel could have unleashed.

At this moment, the Sword Sect’s Sect Master’s qi reservoir was completely empty. Facing this sword, he did not intend to evade, it was a strike he meant to take head-on.

But in the next instant, he discovered the profoundness hidden within it. Several of the sword qi trajectories actually exceeded his expectations.

He frowned, and from one of his apertures, an entirely new strand of sword qi instinctively overflowed.

Yet at that very instant, the Sword Sect’s Sect Master shook his head.
