Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

The next day, the sky was clear, with white clouds floating like feathers in the blue sky.

From the deck, one could already see landmasses and the port. The cruise ship sailed through the wind and waves and finally arrived at the port after another half-hour journey.

Lin Mo was the first to leave the cruise ship, departing from the port alone.

”Miss, shall we get in the car?”

Upon arriving at the port, several black Mercedes-Benz cars were parked on the roadside outside the port.

Liang Youqi scanned the surroundings with her eyes but did not see Lin Mo, thinking he would help her.

Although she did not know how strong Lin Mo was, Liang Youqi had a woman’s keen sixth sense and felt that Lin Mo was unusual.

”Hmm.” Liang Youqi sighed inwardly and got into the back seat of a Mercedes. Two others were leaving the port with her, including a gentleman of the Ji Family whom she had seen at the bar the previous night. He was handsomely dressed in a neat suit and looked dashing. Next to him was an old man, holding a withered wooden staff, with short cropped hair and a head full of silver spikes, but with a long white beard tied with three beads in red, green, and yellow—an odd appearance.

”Master Gu, we entrust you with this matter. The Ji Family will not forget your kindness,” Ji Li said with a respectful expression to the old man beside him.

”Say no more, say no more.” The old man nodded slightly, speaking indifferently.

Ji Li opened the back door, inviting the old man to sit inside. The motorcade quickly left the port, speeding along the wide highway towards the mountain range in the direction of Tielin County. The Jiang Family was a prominent family in Han Country, but they had kept their residence in their homeland, Iron Forest County.

After the convoy left, a middle-aged man emerged from the crowd. As he walked, his appearance changed quickly, transforming into that of a delicate-looking young man.

Last night, he had casually placed a Spiritual Mark on Liang Youqi, allowing him to track the group’s movements.

After about an hour’s drive, they entered the territory of Iron Forest County and quickly stopped in front of an ancient courtyard.

The ancient courtyard consisted of ninety different sized courtyards, with intricately carved beams and painted rafters, hung with red lanterns. Lush trees surrounded, a pond and stream ran throughout, with clear water flowing from flowers and stones, creating a feng shui atmosphere.

”Pine flower waters, listening to the wind and water, a gathering of wealth.” Upon getting out of the car, Master Gu glanced around and spoke softly.

”Master Gu has a keen eye.” Ji Li stood beside him.

”Master Gu’s magic reaches the heavens, we rely on the Master this time.” The butler said flatteringly.

Master Gu just smiled and stepped into the ancient courtyard.

”Miss Liang, let’s go,” Ji Li looked at Liang Youqi and said with a smile.

Liang Youqi followed the group into the courtyard with anxiousness.

This courtyard was the main residence of the Jiang Family. Ten years ago, the Jiang Family was still a relatively small family. However, in the past decade, the Jiang Family’s development had been rapid, making it one of Han Country’s top 100 families.

This was all because an expert in magic from the Jiang Family joined the Yin Yang Shishen Sect, truly a case of one man reaching enlightenment, and all his followers and livestock reaching the skies.

Otherwise, given the Liang Family’s status and strength, they wouldn’t be afraid of the Jiang Family.

As the group entered the ancient courtyard, a woman dressed in a Hanbok with her hair in a bun greeted them. With her hands overlapping her belly, she bowed and said, ”You must be people from the Liang and Ji Families, our young master is already waiting for you in the quiet room.”

”Please lead the way!”

They followed a winding corridor, breathing in the floral scent, and the fresh scent of the dark green wood, until they reached the entrance of a quiet room in a courtyard, which had two red lanterns hanging at the entrance, resembling the eyes of demons.

”Ladies and gentlemen, my young master is in the quiet room, please!”

The Hanbok-clad girl stood at the courtyard gate and gestured for them to enter.

Ji Li, Liang Youqi, Master Gu entered the quiet room, and the butler, along with several bodyguards, waited outside respectfully.

Inside the quiet room, it was wide and bright, with a painting hanging on the east wall, written with the character ’Zen’ in bold, round strokes of ink.

”Haha...”

”Bang bang...”

”Dong!”

A man clad in a loose black training outfit was sparring with another man, wielding a wooden sword in hand, movement swift, attacks fierce. Soon the other man’s wooden sword was knocked out of his hand, falling to the floor, and he followed it to the ground.

”Your swordsmanship needs more practice.”

”Yes, Young Master Jiang.”

The fallen man stood up immediately and bowed ninety degrees.

”There are guests coming, tidy up and leave.” The man in the black outfit waved his hand.

The other man quickly picked up the two wooden swords, bowed, and exited the quiet room.

”Mr. Ji, long time no see.” It was then that the man in the black outfit turned his head to look at Ji Li and the others, ”Please sit.”

Inside the quiet room was an antique rosewood table, upon which were displayed peach fairy antiques, with a Three-legged Incense Tripod emitting a wisp of straight white smoke, filling the room with a light fragrance.

”Young Master Jiang, I didn’t expect you also to like incense. If I’m not mistaken, this should be... South Sea Centennial Incense,” Ji Li said, sitting cross-legged.

”Mr. Ji, I didn’t expect you to also understand it.” Jiang Duan said, raising a tea cup, and taking a gentle sip.

Ji Li said, ”My family collects some Qi Nan Ancient Incense. If Young Master Jiang likes it, I can give it to you.”

”Taking what another loves?” Young Master Jiang put down his tea cup with a smile.

”A beauty with a hero. Though Qi Nan Incense is precious, it must be given to someone who understands it. I don’t have the elegance to enjoy incense.” Ji Li laughed.

”Mr. Ji, if there’s something to say, say it directly.” Young Master Jiang asked.

Ji Li replied earnestly, ”I’ve come to visit the Jiang Family this time mainly to resolve some misunderstandings between the Liang Family and the Jiang Family.”

”Oh, so Mr. Ji is here to play peacemaker?”

Young Master Jiang squinted his eyes slightly, glancing over Liang Youqi’s face.

”Our Ji Family has some connections with the Liang Family, so I must request Young Master Jiang to give me face on this matter.” Ji Li said, raising his tea cup.

The Ji Family and the Jiang Family had business dealings, and Ji Li’s relationship with Young Master Jiang before him was quite good.

”The Liang Family’s matter can be settled, but the Liang Family also needs to pay a price.” Young Master Jiang said.

”Naturally, as long as the Jiang Family lets the Liang Family go, it is giving face to me, Ji Li. Next time, Young Master Jiang comes to my turf, I will certainly entertain you well.” Ji Li smiled.

Ji Li brought Master Gu primarily as a backup. It’s important to have bargaining power if one wants to negotiate. Only if the strength is equivalent, or with sufficient strength to gain respect, can negotiation occur.

If one side is too strong and the other too weak, negotiation isn’t even possible. ”Miss Liang, remember what you promised me. The favor of my Ji Family is limited; Mr. Liang promised me that as long as I help the Liang Family settle the enmities with the Jiang Family, Mr. Liang would promise Miss Liang to me.” Ji Li whispered to Liang Youqi’s ear.

Liang Youqi clenched her dress tightly with both hands, her palms covered in thin sweat, biting her thin lips forcefully.
