Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

At this moment.

In the distance, some sounds had already started to echo, and Lin Mo’s expression changed slightly. His intense battle with the two-headed evil dog had already alerted some wild beasts around him, and it seemed they were about to arrive.

Lin Mo glanced around, hesitated for a moment, then immediately ran towards a dark passage, using all his strength to block the entrance with a broken stone pillar.

The entrance was about two meters wide and three meters high, so even if a beast charged in, only one beast could pass through at a time. As long as it wasn’t a swarm of mice, it would definitely be safe.

Lin Mo continued to move forward into the black passage. Though there was no fire or light inside, it was possible to vaguely see the environment of the entire passage. The surrounding walls were icy stone, and the passage led underground, presenting a sloping angle.

Moving cautiously, Lin Mo stepped down on the bluestone, gradually leaving behind the sound of the beasts’ roars.

After about twenty minutes, the passage gradually widened. Suddenly, the surroundings brightened with streaks of phosphorescent green light upon the walls. This was a chamber-like place, and the nature of the phosphorescent material was unknown.

The entire underground chamber was about a hundred square meters, permeated with a nauseating stench. Lin Mo frowned as his eyes caught a glimpse of a corner where the double-headed hellhound might have rested, and upon scenting his presence, emerged.

”What is this?” Lin Mo frowned, suddenly spotting a skeleton beside the wall. The clothes on it had turned to ashes, and next to the skeleton lay a roughly two-meter-long black scythe, exuding a strongly evil aura.

Carefully, Lin Mo picked up the black scythe, immediately feeling a surge of evil energy pierce into his body.

In the void, a black mist rapidly entered Lin Mo’s divine sense. Within the ethereal divine sense, a blood-red small blade floated in the air. Upon seeing the black mist flowing in, the blood-red blade immediately transformed into a red line.

The red line zipped through the void, piercing into the black mist, instantly shattering it, and the blood-red small blade began to slowly absorb the chaotic black mist, converting its energy for personal use.

At this moment, standing inside the chamber, a glimmer of clarity flickered in Lin Mo’s eyes, beads of cold sweat had already surfaced on his forehead.

”That was close; I was nearly controlled by this black mist.”

Lin Mo exclaimed.

The black scythe carried another strong force of will. If it hadn’t been for his condensed divine thought and having cultivated ancient techniques, possessing a tremendously robust divine sense, an ordinary person would have been directly controlled by the divine thought on the scythe.

”What exactly is this thing?” Lin Mo observed the black scythe carefully, and as he touched it with his palm, he could feel an inner chill and cold sensation.

Scythe of God’s Death!

Lin Mo flipped through the memory in his mind to find the text given by Joe, within which recorded Lucifer’s weapon, the Scythe of God’s Death, used to reap the lives of millions and establish his hell, full of evil and horror.

Lin Mo did not believe in hell, but the Scythe of God’s Death intrigued him greatly. If this weapon was Lucifer’s, then could this skeleton be Lucifer?

Lin Mo shook his head, thinking how could someone like him hide in this place and await death.

It might also be that this skeleton was one of Lucifer’s war generals, who came here to heal after being gravely wounded and died, while the two-headed evil dog guarded the corpse. ”The material of this Scythe of God’s Death…” Lin Mo touched the scythe, feeling its power, and exclaimed in surprise: ”It’s actually made of Black Lustrous Stone, which is an extremely rare refining material in the Cultivation World, but the crafting method is too crude, should be a peak-level treasure. If I were to craft it.”

”I could definitely make it into a spiritual artifact, but it’s a pity.”

Lin Mo shook his head and sighed, then immediately stored the Scythe of God’s Death into the space ring.

The space ring can be opened using the energy on the crystal, but things can only be put in, not taken out.

Having done all this, Lin Mo simply rested in the chamber, planning to leave after the wild beasts had departed.

Lin Mo took out several green fruits he had picked earlier from outside, crunching them, and after finishing, sat cross-legged on the ground, and began to meditate.

Yuri and Hongmen Ancestor should have come in too, only everyone was in different positions, not knowing if the two had died or not.

Since he prepared thoroughly to come to the Ancient Battlefield Ruins, those two old foxes must presumably have some backup arrangements.

Without light, without a clock in the chamber, Lin Mo could only go to the entrance of the passage every once in a while, looking through gaps at the outside light to judge the time.

The first two days, the wild beasts were still gathered around the ruined palace, though more left each day.

Clearly, they couldn’t get through the passage because Lin Mo had blocked it with a stone pillar, and mid-way the passage was very narrow, making it impossible for larger beasts to fit.

By the fifth day, all the beasts had left the palace.

Having packed up, Lin Mo, now full of energy, finally walked out of the chamber, moved the stone pillar blocking the passage entrance, and walked through the passage. The two-headed evil dog had only a large skeleton left lying in the gravel, apparently having been eaten by the wild beasts.

”Can’t stay here anymore.”

Lin Mo furrowed his brow and immediately left the palace, continuing towards the central area.

As expected, Lin Mo did not walk fast because various beasts often appeared in the desert and as he traveled further, the monsters encountered grew stronger.

Fortunately, Lin Mo had prepared some talismans without placing them in the space ring, together with a dagger and willow leaf blade, barely able to cope.

”The beasts encountered along the way grow increasingly strong; ahead should be the central area.” Lin Mo nodded privately.

Along the way, apart from the vast, borderless desert, virtually not a hint of buildings or trees were seen. If one’s willpower was not firm, it would be easy to collapse or lose direction in such an environment.

”Rustle, rustle!”

Suddenly, Lin Mo stopped in his tracks as he saw the gravel ahead stir slightly, and a mouse about the size of an adult’s fist emerged, its pair of blood-red eyes rolling swiftly, soon landing on the human before it.

”It’s this guy again.”

Lin Mo casually sent a willow leaf blade forward, instantly piercing the mouse with ease. Along the way, Lin Mo had come across several of these mice, lacking much combat capability and dealt with them effortlessly.

Lin Mo stepped forward, bent down to retrieve the willow leaf blade, wiped it clean with a cloth, intending to pack it and continue on his way.

Suddenly, Lin Mo’s hairs stood on end, as he turned his head, noticing the boundless desert behind suddenly undulating and jolting like rising and falling ocean waves, resembling layers upon layers of sand billows.

”Squeak, squeak!”

Numerous dense sounds radiated from the ground, leaving Lin Mo stunned in the next moment, as tens of thousands of mice emerged from the ground, forming a vast ocean of mice, which made one’s scalp tingle with terror.
