Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

Sikong Lianyan noticed the chill in Lin Mo’s eyes, causing her delicate body to tremble slightly. The young man in front of her appeared innocent and harmless, yet he was a murdering demon. Sikong Lianyan finally remembered what kind of person she was speaking with.

”I, I didn’t.” Sikong Lianyan’s face turned pale and she quickly said.

Lin Mo grinned and said, ”It seems I look quite scary to you. Are you afraid of me?”

”My grandfather told me not to inform the Hongmen headquarters because our family might be swallowed up by them.” In her fear, Sikong Lianyan revealed everything.

”Oh, so that’s how it is.” Lin Mo nodded slightly, not minding Sikong Zhu’s intention. After all, he planned to confront Hongmen head-on, and the matter with the Sikong Family was just a side issue.

”I want to know more about Hongmen.” Lin Mo asked.

”Hongmen’s power is vast, spread across many countries overseas. But these forces are merely superficial. The real power is something small families like ours generally cannot access, not even my grandfather has the privilege to meet Hongmen’s Sect Leader and high officials.” Sikong Lianyan said slowly.

It turns out Hongmen has developed over many years, with many tiers within its structure. The Sikong Family is just a weak family within Hongmen, and even Sikong Zhu isn’t qualified to meet the high officials of Hongmen headquarters.

The high officials of Hongmen are composed of an Elder Council, beneath which is an assembly council. The four major families are members of the assembly council.

”The four major families of Hongmen?” Lin Mo squinted his eyes with a curious look. ”Yes, the four major crime families of Hongmen are the Hong Family, Liu Family, Kong Family, and Situ Family. They are the most powerful in Hongmen, and their core members are council members. This time, my grandfather and I came to apologize to a councilman of the Hong Family because our family is too weak to contact the core Elder Council of Hongmen.” Sikong Lianyan said.

Lin Mo nodded silently.

Hongmen’s power is vast, like an ancient tree with sprawling roots and branches, extending globally.

However, the real core of this power should be the so-called Elder Council, and it’s very clear that its members aren’t ordinary people. For a force to grow strong, it must have a sturdy shield to lean on.

Otherwise, regardless of how large a force grows, if faced with an assassination by a Superhuman, the entire organization could collapse like a house of cards.

The only disappointment for Lin Mo was that Sikong Lianyan didn’t seem to know exactly what kind of existence the Elder Council of Hongmen really was. Lin Mo had intended to ask her if there were any beings within the council with powers beyond Divine Force.

If there really were beings beyond Divine Force, then Lin Mo would need to carefully consider that directly attacking Hongmen headquarters might end in failure.

”What a pity. The Hong Family’s high official you mentioned is a councilman, he should know about the Elder Council of Hongmen, right?” Lin Mo asked.

”I’m not sure on that, but the Hong Family is a council member, so their level of contact is higher than that of our family. Perhaps he knows.” Sikong Lianyan hesitated.

Lin Mo squinted his eyes slightly. ”If I’m not mistaken, you should be acquainted with that young master from the Hong Family. Could you ask him to come out? I’d like to meet him.”

”How do you know?” Sikong Lianyan slightly parted her cherry lips and said.

”Your Sikong Family came to apologize, your grandfather or father should have come alone, but they specifically brought you along. It’s quite obvious that they want you to get close to the young master of Hongmen and help speak for your family.” Lin Mo laughed.

Sikong Lianyan’s cheeks flushed with two patches of red, ”Alright, you guessed correctly. I’ll call him, but I’m not sure if he’ll tell you anything.”

...

At this time.

Inside a suite of the hotel where Lin Mo was staying.

”You said you ran into that Huaxia boy when you went out just now?” A muscular man named David excitedly asked.

”Yes, when I went to the parking lot just now, that guy happened to be in the same elevator with me. I’m sure it was him.”

A woman with long black hair, languid in a graceful manner, exuding a charming aura all over, spoke slowly.

”Yumiko, are you sure you didn’t see wrong?” Luke squinted his eyes slightly and asked.

”Yumiko is a genius assassin; her ability to remember faces is unquestionable.” Beiyuan River slowly said while wiping his katana.

Luke, the captain of this assassination squad, frowned and said, ”Couldn’t believe the prey actually came to Phoenix City and delivered itself to us!”

”Luke, after hitting this jackpot, we’ll be made.” David said excitedly, clenching his fist.

”Don’t rush; always remember to keep a clear mind,” Luke pointed at his head, ”Don’t let money blind your eyes; it’ll cost you your life.”

Though David was somewhat displeased by Luke’s reprimand, he admitted it had merit.

Luke is a Spiritual Superpower User, possessing not only great strength but also extreme intelligence, serving as the brain of the team. Many successful assassinations relied on Luke’s analysis and arrangements.

Thus, even strong personality types like Beiyuan River, Yumiko, and David held Luke in awe.

”Yumiko, did he notice you?”

Luke looked at Yumiko and asked.

Yumiko frowned slightly and laughed, ”He probably didn’t notice me. I disguised perfectly, and besides, I met him by chance. He likely wouldn’t pay attention to me.”

”If that’s the case, it’s good; then he won’t be on guard.” Luke nodded and said.

”Are we doing this hit or not?” David asked impatiently.

”Yes, I’ll look into his whereabouts first.” Luke said, then closed his eyes, his temple slightly protruded, emitting a faint blue glow.

Spiritual Power Superpower Users are an extremely unique type of power user who can manipulate some objects and also invade into the enemy’s mind using spiritual power, directly damaging their nervous system.

After about a few minutes, Luke opened his eyes, and the slightly protruding temple returned to normal, with the blue light dissipating.

”Luke, did you find his location?” Beiyuan River brushed his hand over the knife edge, his gaze flickering with fierce light. Luke nodded slightly, rubbed his temple, and sat on the couch, saying, ”It took quite some time. I didn’t dare to directly emit spiritual power to find him, fearing it would attract his attention. But through the minds of the hotel doorboy and some shop owners, I found out he’s heading towards the rooftop bar

direction, seemingly with a woman accompanying him.”

”It’s normal for a man to seek a woman, especially for a young guy like him. Full of energy, he has to vent it somehow.” Yumiko said, laughing heartily, her laughter like flowers swaying.

Beiyuan River and David glanced at their seductively charming teammate and couldn’t help feeling dry throats, but they both knew this alluring woman was a Poison Snake, not to be touched.

To be continued wonderfully tomorrow.
