Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 2285: Chapter 2285: Yichuan Is Doing Well

”This fool really thinks he’s someone important, doesn’t he? Even if the eldest young master speaks up, the Family Head wouldn’t easily kill me, a skilled expert. What do you count for, that the Family Head would listen to you?” Liang Zhiye thought with disdain, showing no trace of worry on his face.

Sure enough, after hearing Ye Haochuan’s words, Ye Hongmao slightly furrowed his brows and said in a calm voice, ”He has risked his life for the Ye Family many times, how can one just decide to kill him like that?”

Liang Zhiye grew even more smug, his eyes filled with mockery as he looked at Ye Haochuan.

Ye Haochuan’s expression remained calm as he slowly spoke, ”The pills in your hand, there are only thirty of them. Do as you see fit!”

Upon hearing this, Ye Hongmao’s heart tightened, and his previously lofty demeanor vanished instantly.

The pills were meant to prolong his life, and he definitely didn’t want to lose the life he had painstakingly saved after just a month.

He scrutinized Ye Haochuan again, finding the other completely composed, and couldn’t help but wonder how this son of his had changed so much. The previous cowardice and weakness were gone, and he has turned so ruthless and sophisticated. The information previously sent from Yellow Wind Mountain didn’t indicate this at all!

For a moment, he even suspected that the person in front of him was not his son, but someone else.

However, when he saw Cao Songtai, that thought was immediately dismissed.

Although his personality greatly differed from the returned news, judging by Ye Haochuan’s attitude towards Cao Songtai, it indeed didn’t seem fake.

Perhaps this guy was pretending to be crazy at Yellow Wind Mountain, deliberately making the supervisors believe he was no threat. Such a mentality is truly terrifying!

Ye Hongmao speculated silently in his heart.

”No matter what, I am still your father, you can’t just...” Ye Hongmao’s tone softened a bit, as if trying to negotiate with Ye Haochuan.

”I don’t recognize a father who sent me to a bitterly cold place since childhood. Between us, it’s merely a doctor-patient relationship. If you want to live a few more days, you’d better think clearly for yourself!” Ye Haochuan’s tone remained serene, without a ripple.

If it were before, should Ye Yichuan dare speak to him like this, Ye Hongmao would have surely smacked him with a slap. But now, the person in front of him had become so mysterious that he couldn’t fathom, especially with those medical skills that directly gripped his life force.

It’s truly a case of tit for tat!

Ye Hongmao’s face showed bitterness; he regretted following out of curiosity earlier since if he hadn’t, he wouldn’t be under such duress now.

He slowly turned to look at Liang Zhiye, anger suddenly visible in his expression, and shouted, ”You treacherous wretch who defies authority, how dare you show such insolence to the third young master of the Ye Family! If I don’t deal with you today, outsiders will think the Ye Residence lacks strict governance. Prepare to die!”

”What?” Liang Zhiye couldn’t quite wrap his head around it, and seeing the Family Head make a move, he did not dare counteract.

A moment later, he only felt a chill on his neck, as blood spurted out instantly.

He could not understand why the Family Head would take such a harsh move against him for a son whom he usually ignored.

There wasn’t much pain on Ye Hongmao’s face; after all, being the head of a family, he had enough resolve for this.

He glanced at Ye Haochuan but found the latter’s face still as calm as water, without a hint of disturbance.

He couldn’t help feeling bitter inside; that unfathomable feeling was truly maddening.

His earlier words were a tacit acknowledgment of Ye Haochuan’s identity as the third young master of the Ye Family, regarded as a gesture of goodwill toward Ye Haochuan. Whether Ye Haochuan was happy or angry, he could somewhat understand Ye Haochuan’s thoughts. Now, with Ye Haochuan displaying no emotion, it left him at a loss.

”Throw this man out. From now on, this courtyard is the domain of us grandfather and grandson. Without my permission, no one is to intrude!”

Ye Haochuan finally spoke, giving a few orders to the servants before turning to Ye Hongmao, ”Patriarch Ye, I have consumed a lot just now and need to rest. Please leave!”

Upon hearing the words ”Patriarch Ye,” Ye Hongmao smiled bitterly in his heart, thinking that he had brought this upon himself, for now even his own son didn’t recognize him as a father.

He didn’t know that Ye Haochuan simply didn’t want to call a stranger ’father.’

After this incident, Ye Hongmao already took Ye Haochuan seriously, determined that no matter what, he had to repair the relationship between father and son.

It’s not that he particularly liked this son in his heart, but because Ye Haochuan’s skills were not only holding his life force but also greatly beneficial to the Ye Family.

However, repairing relationships is obviously not something that can be rushed. Without saying much more, after arranging a few people to guard Ronglan Court’s outer gate, he left straight away.

Ye Haochuan supported Cao Songtai as they slowly walked into the room. Along the way, despite the odd behavior of his grandson, Cao Songtai did not utter a single word.

Ronglan Court was one of the best courtyards in the Ye Residence, in stark contrast to the overgrown weeds of the previous courtyard, with verdant mountains and pearly waters, full of blooming flowers and stunning scenery.

Several majestic buildings stood at the center of this picturesque setting, with many panicked figures scurrying out in haste, kneeling in two rows at the entrance to welcome their new master.

These people served Liang Zhiye, and a few were his concubines. Upon hearing that Liang Zhiye was killed by the Family Head for offending the new master, they were already terrified and dared not slack.

Ye Haochuan glanced at them and picked a maid in her thirties who appeared gentle and kind-eyed, letting the rest leave.

Retaining this woman wasn’t for any personal agenda but to care for Old Master Cao. After all, given the old age, Ye Haochuan couldn’t possibly tend to every detail himself.

”Is Yichuan doing alright?” After arranging for the maid to prepare necessities, Cao Songtai suddenly asked something odd.

Ye Haochuan was somewhat surprised and said, ”Grandfather, I am fine!”

”You can’t fool me; you’re not Yichuan. I may be old and muddleheaded, but I took care of him for over a decade and am too familiar with his aura.” Cao Songtai chuckled and shook his head.

Cold sweat broke out on Ye Haochuan’s brow; he thought he had done everything perfectly. Despite some character differences, all could be explained. Unexpectedly, he was still found out.

”You don’t need to be nervous. Although I don’t know your purpose, since you can call this old man ’grandfather’ and care for me in various ways, you must be a good child. I won’t harm you!” Cao Songtai smiled.

Only then did Ye Haochuan breathe a sigh of relief and replied, ”Yichuan is doing well; he just doesn’t dare return easily. Don’t worry. Once I sort out my matters, I will try to reunite you and your grandson. Moreover, by then, he won’t have to live with such grievances as he does now.”
